ART POSTING
(Subject not going through....Third time's the charm...??)
Art stuff thread starting...NOW! If you draw stuff, you can post it here! I draw in a sort of anime/manga/toon style, but if you don't, don't let that stop you from posting your stuff! I would love to see other people's art so post away! They can be OCs, fan art, or just random stuff. You can use any media, including digital, like I do! Just to let you chatterboxers know, I started this thread so we can share our tricks of the trade with each other. Feel free to: ask questions about how to draw certain things, post techniques, share art, and mostly HAVE FUN! If you draw your OCs, feel free to share information about them such as their names and that sort of thing. Same goes for fan art since not all of us know where these characters are from. You don't have to be polished with your art. I myself am just a beginner at anime/manga/toon. I'm not good at hands so if any of my hands looks particularly cruddy, you know why. I also struggle sometimes with feet so same goes for that. If any of you know how to draw a particularly good hand or foot, feel free to share your trick for it.
Going to post a picture of my OC, Tuxedo, if this post goes through okay.

Oh gosh, Bluebird.
That is really incredible.
You're such a good artist. That is amazing. The lighting is so good and the facial structure and the anatomy with the collarbone and everything.
Wow.

Everyone's art is so amazing!!!!
You are inspiring me to dig out some of my art and post it. Or, better yet, draw some new art.

Does anyone have recommendations of drawing apps for an iPod? Preferably free and easy to use. Thank you!

Hmm... when I do digital media, I use an app called ProCreate. But I'm pretty sure it's not free and it's kinda confusing at first, so I wouldn't recommend it based on your specifications. It is a good art app for anyone looking into doing professional or commissioned digital drawings, though.

I finally finished this. It doesn't seem like much, but see if you can spot the hidden meaning-- it's easy for some, hard for others. I love wordplay-- I might post more text art in a bit, after these two. Crimson Dreamer Lying took a lot more effort than Believe.

A palette of skin tones I compiled. Feel free to use any of it if you like. A few of the lightest ones exist mainly for vampires/ghosts, if you’re wondering. They’re not actually pure white, and they are all different.

hI’ve been on vacation and haven’t posted in a while, so I suppose I’ll do a bit of an art dump.
First, here’s a redraw of a piece I did about a year ago (I’ll post the original one next). In real life the black parts are kind of streaky, but it looks nice in pictures.
*Vent incoming, feel free to skip this next bit* I honestly haven’t felt so good about my art lately— It’s like everything I try to do just falls flat in some way. The complexity of my ideas exceeds my skill level in executing them, it’s taking me a frustrating amount of time to finish my current sketchbook (it’s been three months and I’m barely halfway done! I can usually knock out a whole book in that time) and man, this drawing was just the nail in the coffin. Don’t get me wrong, I’m pleased with it in of itself, but I can’t help but feeling that for how long it’s been I should be better than I am.
Okay, vent over. Carry on. <3

Here’s the original piece of the redraw mentioned in the previous post.

I’ve been drawing a lot recently. This is my most recent peace, which I ruined with watercolors. :(. But besides that it looks pretty cool.

@coyotedomino: I'm glad you like my wordart! Here's another piece, inspired by the Shadowhunters series that I've been watching with my friend (The_Teenage_Dragon on YWP NaNo). It's the name of a nightclub run by Magnus Bane, and the sign flashes on and off to reveal this particular wordplay. It's even more ironic in the Shadowhunter world because there are actually demons.
@June: I love the hair! And hey, everyone needs to practice their watercolour skills, right? Let's just say there's a reason why I don't post any watercolour either.
@Abi: I've been rereading the Six of Crows series recently, and those are simply lovely. You really captured what the characters look like, not only physically, but sort of mentally too? Like, Nina looks sassy and confident in herself, and Matthias looks brooding but also looking at Nina, and Wylan has no idea what's going on but is gripping his explosives, Jesper's being his usual gay (bi?) sassy self (and looking at Wylan, wink wink), Kaz and Inej are sneaking glances at each other while being fantastic and mysterious... I don't know if that makes sense but you didn't only draw them physically, but emotionally, too. You drew them as they are in the books, like they leapt out of the pages and into your drawings. And that's something few artists can do. (And one sketchbook every 3 months? Holy heckin Hera, Abi! That's incredible! Now that I've seriously started drawing, I'm about to finish my second sketchbook ever, and it's taken me about a year. To be fair, though, I used every page front and back.) As for not feeling like you're good enough... hmm. I read somewhere that most artists are hard on themselves because they have a vision in their heads of what the final project should be, but their work doesn't match it, so they feel like the piece is bad. But viewers don't have that image in their heads-- they only see the beautiful finished project, and they're not measuring it up against some unattainable standard. Make sense? So just because your work doesn't match what you think it should look like, doesn't mean it's bad or that you haven't improved. (Which, as far as I can tell, you have, just for the record.) I don't know if any of this is helpful or making any sense at all, but I still hope it helped somehow? Anyways, if you need to talk more, feel free to reach out through YWP and I'd be happy to listen or whatever you need. :)
