Welcome to the annual Ball of Stars! This ball is dedicated to the one night where the stars of Kyngdom perfectly align. This ball is therefore open to the public!

Food and beverages will be provided, as well as music. Since we want everyone who wishes to come to the Ball to be accounted for, please be at our castle in Northeastern Kyngdom by 6:30 PM sharp. Our doors will close at 6:31. At exactly 8:00, the ballroom roof will open and lights will turn off so everyone can gaze at the night sky and at the beautiful stars! There will be box seats for all Nobyls and for those who reserve them. (All they are really used for is so you can relax if you are tired.)

This ball can be on any NEARBY day that is decided on! Everyone is welcome!

Please reserve a night to relax and have fun at Kyngdom’s annual Ball of Stars!

I look towards Nygrune, and then back at Sprocket, and then back to the disappearing figure of the girl with blue hair.

I sigh and walk up to Nygrune, Sprocket following me closely.

“May I have a word?” I ask, sending an apologetic look towards the girl, as they seemed to have been in a conversation.

He looks slightly stunned but nods, and I start heading for the balcony outside, Sprocket and Nygrune doing the same.

Once I reach the rail, I stop and turn to face them.

They look at me expectantly, and I take a deep breath.

“So....”

I tell them about the confrontation in the bathroom and the fight that went down after that, and that stabbing her was in self defence, but finishing her off was a complete accident.

Sprocket nods slowly but Nygrune tilts his head. “I saw you two interacting earlier. What was that about?”

“And that’s why I called you over,” I sigh. “I destroyed the gem that the Crown contained a while ago. When I did, the magic flowed to me, but I did more harm than I did good. I feel as though to punish me or make me angry again, Nova transferred that magic to Ocean. But Ocean...she-that magic acts as though it belongs in her or something...I just don’t know. I feel so bad that she’s burdened with this, but at the same time, that magic is manifesting in her. I was going to go do more research at a secret library later.” I finish that last part with a mutter. I look back up at him. “Do you have any idea, of this magic? You’re an expert, as I’ve heard.”

He smiles sheepishly. “Well, expert is a little far flung-“

“I believe it,” I respond firmly. “I’ve seen you at work out there on the battlefield. I don’t usually believe in all this magic stuff, or all those Powers, but this is crossing over in your territory. So do you have any idea as to what’s going on?”

~~~~
Okay, so a bit of a character note on Mina. She’s actually pretty similar to Han Solo in some ways. She can be cocky and over confident, but she tries to help people. Also, Han Solo never really believed in the Force until later, and the same goes for Mina. Although she’s experienced some weird stuff, she never really thought magic or even the Powers were real. But I guess she’s starting to discover that they are.
Davina~
O, nae Kyngdom! I'm so surprised I'm starting to think in Korean, a language I speak.
It means oh my Kyngdom.
Just as I was about to ask Nygrune about Mina, she walks up to him and says, "May I have a word?" She gives me a forgiving look. I stare back at her, impassive.
Nygrune blinks, stunned, and nods.  Mina walks towards the balcony. I wait until Nygrun e and Sprocket walk after her, and then I follow. I think Iyana may be following me again.
I listen to them, standing against the wall by the doors. They've left them open, just a tiny bit.
Mina begins to talk about her fight with the wolf.
Then she talks about wrecking the Crowns gem, and its power going into her.
She talks about it going into someone named Ocean. I assume she is the royal-looking girl who fainted earlier.
Then she asks Nygrune about it.
I don’t think Korean would be a language in Kyngdom, as Kyngdom is an AU.
Also, I just find it generally funny that’s Davina has only found entertainment by eavesdropping. I guess that adds to her character.
Ah. II guess it can just be an odd language Davina can sspeak.
And yes, Davina is a very strongwilled person who basically hates rules.
Huh. That actually makes a lot of sense. That's kind of funny now, how Nygrune treats her as so above him and always uses her title. Oh, and the girl with blue hair isn't Davina, she's Mitchell. Davina's defining visual traits are tall and casually dressed. Also, how did Davina know that Nygrune could have heard while the others couldn't?
Overlapping even my own post now...
Nygrune~
There is a pause. Sprocket breaks it. "Isn't it time you told us what happened?"
General Mina starts, then stops, glancing at the tall girl. "Nothing. It's... fine. Really."
The General and the girl exchange looks, and the girl turns away, passing me as she leaves. Good Lunee, she's tall.
General Mina sighs and walks up to me, Sprocket right behind her.
"May I have a word?"
I can't help but exhibit shock. The General, asking to speak with me... How could I not accept?
At my nod, the General breezes past and sweeps out to the balcony, and Sprocket and I follow in her wake. She stands at the rail and turns to us.
"So..."
I listen attentively, ring on, as the General explains the events of the wolf's--Master Nova's--death. I begin to wonder, though...
"I saw you two interacting earlier. What was that about?"
"And that's why I called you over," the General tells me. "I destroyed the gem that the Crown contained a while ago."
I try to contain myself this time. It is not always a simple matter to destroy magic objects; I can't imagine why the Crown, of all things, would not be spelled to prevent that. But she did, and that always releases the magic.
"When I did, the magic flowed to me, but I did more harm than good," the General continues. "I feel as though to punish me or make me angry again, Nova transferred that magic to Ocean."
That explains where the energy for the healing came from, and perhaps a few of the oddities that have been observed of the General. I connect a few dots and keep listening.
"But Ocean, she... That magic acts as though it belongs in her or something. I just don't know. I feel so bad that she's burdened with this, but at the same time, the magic is manifesting in her. I was going to go do some more research at a secret library later..."
Her gaze has shifted downwards, and now she looks up. "Do you have any idea of this magic? You're an expert, as I've heard."
I look away, smiling at the mistruth. I'm not bad, but I only really began a few months ago. "Well, expert is a little far-flung--"
The General cuts me off. "I believe it. I've seen you at work out there on the battlefield. I don't usually believe in all this magic stuff, or all those Powers, but this is crossing over into your territory. So, do you have any idea what's going on?"
I consider. A tickle appears in my head, roaming my thoughts. I send a minor shell of magic at it, close my eyes and try to focus.
"She used it to heal you. You used it for an explosion. It took no more than a thought, perhaps even less. Perhaps the magic has settled in her, and maybe it will follow her wishes for as long as her disposition does not contradict it. But magic like that isn't something that can be controlled, exactly, and it's really not safe to try. It's a ruling type of magic, isn't it?" I look to Mina, who shakes her head ambiguously.
"The symbolism of putting it in a crown, and what I've felt of it... I'd like to stay by her and see what happens, but I think she's simply been given power. What she does with it is up to her."
I figured Davina didn't know, but though he may have, as she was him doing the light spell. And thought perhaps he used magic of something.
~Iyana
What?!  We can't cause too much attention?!  Are you KIDDING me, Mitchell!?
I say those exact words, plus some.  "Someone just got killed!  I don't know who did it, but if something like that happens here again, I won't be able to stand it!"
She looks at me in surprise.  It's no wonder.  She's never seen me insecure about anything.
Then she says, "Iyana.  Are you crazy?  Even if someone got killed here, what are the chances that it will happen again?  There are so many people here.  Why would anyone attempt a murder if they know someone will turn them in?" She says this all with a straight face, never waivering, never changing.  It's almost too monotonous to be her.  But I can tell it is.
I almost listen to her, but she knows I'm too headstrong to think about it.  "No, Mitchell.  I have to do something about it.  I can't stand to see bodies, seeing m-my own, it-it scared me so bad, I -- I'm sorry, but I can't agree with you this time."
Before I finish my last sentence, Mitchell glares at me and cuts me off.  "Iyana."  There is a pause before she does something I'd never expect from her.  "That's ENOUGH!!"  She yells, her words echoing around the room, making all the sound stop, and everyone look at her.  The word enough bounces around the room a little more, repeating itself two or three times before finally fading away.
For a moment, I know that it wasn't Mitchell in there.  She's told me about how she thought she was part demon before, but I never believed her.  Now, with a scared look on my face, I realize how wrong I was.  Ghostly tears flood my eyes, and  I turn and zoom away before I have too look at her for much longer.
~~~

So as you can tell, I've been doing some work on my two characters.

Davina ~

I step away from the door as their conversation drops. And as I do, somebody yells, "That's ENOUGH!!"

it echoes, and I press against the wall. Those words coming from my own mouth, no...

I close !y eyes, but all that comes is me imagining what happened, is somebody else dead, no, no...

 "What's wrong with you?"

"She was only trying to help, girl!"

 " Ugh! Totally never dying my hair blue like her! "

Insults are thrown at the blue-haired girl. People are angry that she interrupted their dance.

Oh, alright, somebody just got a tad frustrated.

But I can't escape the feeling something else is going on. Because although all Mitchell and I did was a polite introduction, I doubt she would act like that. Somethings wrong.

I am shoving people away, they are yelling, and I snap rude retorts back.

"Mitchell, " I Say, and grab her arm. She twists towards me, an abnormal anger ignited in her eyes.

"What do you want?" She snaps. I pull her away , ignoring her yells and attempts to free herself. People are glaring at me. I glare back.

I stop at the cherry tree in the garden.

"Get out of it, Mitchell," I say. " I may have just met you, but you're not acting right. "

Yay, Davina gets to be the tough girl she really is!!

Nygrune finishes speaking and Mina nods.

"OK. I guess we'll just have to wait and see what happens with Ocean."

I fold my arms and lean against a pillar.

"So what now?"

Mina brushes past me off the balcony and into the ballroom.

"Act normal," she says over her shoulder. "We don't want to ruin the night for everyone."

I snort quitely and follow her off of the balcony. Leave it to Mina to try to act normal after she's just been stabbed.

As I enter the crowd of people Kristjan comes up behind me and slips his arm in mine.

"So," he says, leading me around the room. "What's happening?"

"Mina says to act normal," I say. I then fill him in on our conversation on the balcony, talking quitely to prevent eavesdroppers.

When I finish Kristjan remains quiet. We continue to walk around the ballroom, watching the twirling couples on the dance floor and thinking about what just happened.

Nygrune~

The General nods. "Okay. We'll just have to wait and see what happens with Ocean."

Sprocket leans against a column, arms folded. "So, what now?"

The General sweeps past her. "Act normal. We don't want to ruin the night for everyone."

Sprocket snorts softly, but follows, as do I. The tall girl stands nearby. It enters my mind to ask her to dance, but the thought is cut off when a shout rings through the ballroom.

"That's ENOUGH!"

The tall girl steps away, weaving through the crowd towards the voice. A great deal of churning and grumbling bubble up around her destination. I trail her at a distance, until I see her speaking to the blue-haired girl.

"Get out of it, Mitchell," the tall one says. "I may have just met you, but you're not acting right."

Hello? Anyone else still here? I was also kinda wondering if Ocean would get it in her head to appoint Nygrune a formal position, being the Reinedela and therefore technically having power over her governess. Unless she doesn't?

Mexi says abde! Sounds like the beginning of the alphabet, albeit missing a letter.
