Any other mages-in-traini
Any other mages-in-training around? Wizard apprentices? Sorceress helpers? Greetings from the Aftermoor Woods and yulve (magic be with you) to those who are also of the spell trade. I am Grace X, youngest make-in-training of the Aftermoor Woods. Honestly, I'm a bit unfamiliar to the surrounding and you have probably never ventured past the Old Alchemist's gate which serves as the entrance to the Dehlum Spell Trade Academy. Because of this, I'll start off.
~Grace
"Too much Isle Inscene," Wizard Jeynsu reports as he walks through the tables of Quiiun(learners of spell trade). "You need to work on perfect measurements Aviear. Being a wizard requires precision. Eva, work on the swirls. You need to put your emotion into your creation. I can tell that you are bored. Yesmin, your woodwork is getting shavings all over the floor. Use your magic abilities to clean up. And Grace," I look up, waiting expectantly for advice and willing to receive it. "Good job." Wizard Jeynsu's frosty blue eyes turn a warm carmel brown. A curse, some may call it, to always show your emotions, but the color washes over me like warm sunshine. I smile at him, and return to the art of vine riddles.
Well that's it from me. Except for a few nessecary tips. Stay away from Devlin Werpose. She can exploit your secrets faster than you can say aevvon sen wuerdo (deceived and tricked). And don't eat the year old pastries in the cafeteria or you might lose forteen of your teeth like Sorceress Lyzne. Also, don't trust anything Weston Pierce says, he's currently under a say the opposite spell. So with that, I'll just sign off. Yulve sen insa ozyu! [magic be with you and reading continue]

I enjoy changeling spotting lessons, even though I notice that Sorceress Raina is watching my every move. "How do you spot a changeling?" Sorceress Raina asks.
"By a slightly discolered feature!" We chant in unison.
"How do you protect yourself from one?"
"By creating an invisible magical shield."
"Excellent. Now, has anyone read ahead and learned the spell for the invisible magical shield?" I am the only one to raise a hand. "Grace," says the Sorceress, with the faintest hint of distaste. "Good. Form one please. Now, will anyone volunteer to try and spell Grace?" A boy by the name of Owen stands up. "Owen, make sure the spell is harmless. When you are ready boy." He mutters under his breath. I close my eyes and can almost feel the spell bounce off. Owen begins hicupping loudly. I open my eyes and give a half smile at him as Sorceress Raina unspells him.
LATER
I am taking a walk through the woods surrounding the campus, feeling glad to be alone, when it spot something slightly blue out of the corner of my eye. A rather large pitcherplant sits by the side of the path, it's head cocked as if it was looking straight at me. It's mouth is a neon blue. I stifle a gasp and quickly form the shield around me...

Finally. Free period.
So far I had survived the whole week. After Millicent's encouraging advice at the beginning of the week, I had tried ever harder to find my specialty. And I still couldn't do even beginner magic.
My free period was my last, so I had an extra hour or so before I had to eat dinner. Dehlum had strict eating times, and you did not want to break curfew. At least that was what our teachers told us.
After dropping my stuff off in my dorm, I ran through the halls and out into the grounds. I wanted to get away from the constant noise of the school and all of the people. Back home, the most people I had ever seen in one place was maybe fifty. That had been at a clan gathering. At school, over 1000 students roamed the halls, and it was easy to get lost.
The grounds were a vast expanse of magical terrain. I saw a jungle that bordered a partched desert. The desert blended into a delta that stretched as far as the eye could see. Every single biome you could think of was mushed into the magically enhanced space, complete with specific wildlife.
I decided to try the jungle and see where it led me. Starting off into the dense foliage, I began to see familiar trees and flowers. It looked exactly like the jungle that could be found at the very heart of our island, and the sight of the plants made me happy.
A small breeze ruffled through the trees, twisting around my hair and cooling my skin. I twirled my fingers absently, imagining the wind winding around my hand like thread.
To my surprise the breeze moved from my head and swirled around my hand. Smiling, I lifted my arm and the wind followed. I threw it out it front of me, and it scattered like sand. I twirled around and around in circles and felt a small whirlwind begin to grow. The surrounding bushes were whipped in the gusts, and I laughed with the sheer pleasure of controlling the wind.
Then I stopped suddenly. The wind stopped abruptly as well, and the forest again filled with the cacophony of insects and birds.
Controlling the wind. I had controlled the wind.
Suddenly exhilerated I whooped with joy. I had found my specialty.
