SOCS Costume Ball

SOCS Costume Ball

I'm making this thread because it was agreed that someone should. It's for the costume ball that's being held by the SOCS, possibly the SOCS Army. I believe those who may attend are those who are in or allied with the SOCS and those in the town(s) directly surrounding the location of the ball. A specific place was not decided on to my knowledge, so if anyone has any ideas for that, please post them here. The thread can also be used for planning, ball-related art, out-of-charrie discussions and of course, ball RPs.

I think that's it, so... Let the posting commence!

I guess it could be a little OP, but not much in comparison to deciding who can die and who can't. If this is the fullest extent of your plant-growing powers, it's probably okay. It would actually be kind of creepy if it looked exactly like you, but I'm not opposed to your being able to make plants grow.

I'm escorted back to my cell gruffly (man, these soldiers never loosen up. I guess they can't trust a Brown), and I'm thrown in once again to the same depressing glass prison with a bed in the middle. I slump down on my bed, looking up at the ceiling. I could easily make a weapon out of the hinges on the bed, and I could probably con someone into letting me out or I could tinker with the door pad somehow, but I decide against it. If they put Shadow in a cell, they'll do worse to me.

Oh yeah. Shadow got put into a cell.

Bad-tempered cat got all freaked out that I was actually moving my limbs outside my cell for once. Then Shadow starting yelling, the cat started yelling, alarms started yelling, soldiers started yelling, that girl beside me started yelling, everyone was put in cells, the end.

I look over to the other cell, and the girl, who I think introduced herself earlier as Dee, is sitting in the corner of the room, with her head in her lap. Is she crying?

I don't know what to do, so I scoot off of my bed and crawl over to the wall, where we can see each other through the glass.

"Hello," I call, and she looks up.

Her face is streaked with tears. "Hi."

"What's up with you?" I ask.

Ugh. Conversations.

"Everything is falling apart lately. I have no idea where my father is, and I'm trapped in a place in which I know I won't get out."

"Are you kidding?" I scoff. "Getting out of here is easy. Their security and resources are limited."

"Then why haven't you gotten out yet?" she asks.

"I don't really know," I admit. "Maybe it's because I want to see my supposed sister. Or-"

I stop mid-way. Or make sure Poe Allen's not left alone. But I don't say anything.

"Or what?" Dee asks.

"Nothing," I say abruptly.

She looks at me confused for a moment, but the look fades away. "Oh yeah, the girl with wings is your sister, right?"

I nod. "I think. Yeah. Shadow's my sister."

She nods. "That's cool."

"I guess," I reply. Sister. Shadow, my sister. "Yeah, Shadow's my sister."

I sit down at my work bench, moving a half-made automaton out of the way.

I look shadow staight in the eyes.

"I'm going to admit that what you did was stupid. You and Mina could have talked it out, and I am rather opposed to you letting prisoners walk the halls."

She takes a deep breath, about to talk, when I hold up my hand.

"I know that what we did was unfair, and I know that she is your sister. But we still have to be careful. She has shown that she will do things without caring about other people." I take a deep breath. "But I think that we need to do something about it. I don't feel good knowing that a 11 year old girl is rotting in a cell. We should only imprison people if they are accountable for their actions."

"That's wrong," shadow cuts in. "She isn't the only little kid. There is a girl about her age that was imprisioned just for having her dad be in the army."

I sigh. This was not what I wanted.

"Please don't tell me that we imprisioned her. Was it when Alexander was still in charge? I don't want to be guilty of that. I think that we should go through the prisoners and release all unneeded ones."

Trillian nods, and shadow does as well.

"Now. What are we going to do about your sister?"

Lycaella~

I don't realize I've fallen asleep until the alarms wake me up. I tumble out of bed, knocking my sketchbook to the floor, and wince as I cover my ears. The alarms are really loud.

For a second, I have no idea where I am. My house doesn't have alarms, but wait, I'm not in my house. I'm not in an inn or a tent, either--and then I remember this is one of the Resistance base facilities. Putting my sketchbook on a table, I walk across my room and try to open the door, but it's locked. Apparently I'm not trusted. I gingerly remove my hand from my left ear to press it against the dark wood, listening to whatever's going on in the hallway. It seems I'm not the only one who's just woken up, nor am I alone in wondering what's going on.

The alarms stop soon enough, but I stay with my ear to the door. I don't hear much, and what I do hear isn't very helpful. Someone passing by a bit later says something about prisoners, though. I tuck the word away in my mind for later. I remain in the same place long after everyone has gone back to bed, comfortable in the darkness against the flat surface grown warm.

~End RP. Ronan said there was snow wherever he is. Going off of that, I'd assume either it's winter, or he's in far northern Kyngdom and maybe another week has passed. That would leave Lycaella due for a visit from her dad in New Windswood soon-ish, though. May I ask where we are? (and no enemies use that info; that would be OP.)

Shadow's taken out of her cell-Sprocket tells me. Sprcket agrees with me for the most part, but Trillian and Shadow have sided. Oh well. No time for little arguments now.

Sprocket and I talked earlier, and we decided to release all of the prisoners that don't belong in the cells.

We keep Poe Allen, Alexandria, an assasin named Rogustine, and a scientist.

"Now," Sprocket says as we release the final prisoners. "What to do with the others."

Knock them all out, blindfold them, and leave them somewhere far away. Maybe have Lycaella take them to New Windswood. She needs to go there soon, like in a few days maybe, because her dad is visiting their house there at the end of the Kyngdom month. I don't know what they would do in New Windswood (help rebuild, like a prison sentence?), but it's probably as good a place as any. Did we really only take four prisoners worth keeping? Wow.

I had the idea that Lycaella's dad could be in the SOCS instead of
B.I.G., but I'm not sure. Does anyone think I should go through with
that?

We are all herded into a room, all of us supposed "not worthy enough prisoners". I feel like I am suffocating, and not just because of the huge amount of people. Because of the emotions. Fear. Anixiety. Restlessness. Defience. All of these and more press down on me, demanding my attention.

The guards tell us to shut up, and we do. Maybe it was because of the guns that they were pointed at us. The room becomes quiet, and a door opens at the far side.

In walks a tall girl with short messy brown hair(and a metal arm), along with a walking tortiseshell cat and a girl with huge shiny metal wings. They look around at all of us, and finally the girl with the weird arm speaks.

"As you all know, you have been captured because you have worked for the other side. I, along with all of our leaders, think that this is extremelly unfair. Therefore, we have come to a decision. You will be questioned (and this includes mind and sense detectors), then you will await further notice. Now will you all line up single file and enter through this door, one at a time."

I go into the line as well, following behind everyone else. Slowly the line gets shorter, everyone entering in quietly and not returning.

I wished that I didn't have to do this. I hated mind readings, and all that went with them. Knowing my luck, I would probably be found out. I had had enough tests on my brain to know that they weren't pleasant.

Finally it was my turn to go through the doors. I follow a woman dressed in white through a hallway and into a room with a chair in it. She sits me down and walks out. The room gets dark and I feel the rays enter into my mind. I make no resistance, knowing that if I did then it would only result in pain.

Eventually the lights turn on and the woman enters. She is shaking, and escorts me into a hallway. We follow that for a while, then finally she takes me right back to my cell.

I sigh. Great. They've found out.

My favorite idea for what happens to Lycaella is she finds out about the prisoners and shadow's escape, does nothing because she can't or can't decide what to do (I have no idea what she would do besides keep the secret), and goes home soon with Nygrune in tow. It's up to you if the released prisoners go with her. And I'm assuming the others find out about shadow's escape soon, given what Dee says is happening.

Hi everybody, could someone plz give me a quick summary of what's happening here? Like people's names, and where we are, and groups or sides. Or whatever you think I should know. Thanks so much!

This thread started with a bunch of people going to a ball that was being held by the Society Of Concerned Scientists. The SOCS held it, the Resistance crashed it. Poe Allen and Alexandria were taken prisoner. They are confirmed boyfriend/girlfriend by the author of Poe Allen, although neither charrie has said anything like that. Poe has taken over Elliot's army, and Alexandria is a prodigy and general of the SOCS army. Right now, the events of the thread seem to be taking place in the Resistance base (wherever that is). Groups and sides are the side of Catastrophe (SOCS, Elliot's/Poe Allen's army, and Catastrophe's army, which has been expanded to include Octavia and her associates; none of these parties are present except as prisoners) and the side of the FAFA (B.I.G., the Elven Resistance, the Mutant Army, the FAFA itself, and pretty much everyone else who's not with Catastrophe's side. Members of all parties except the B.I.G. are present). And now, a list of charries currently at the Resistance base, where we are last I checked, which was today. Please correct me if I get anything wrong.

FAFA side:

-shadow, winged girl and Angel of Death

-Mina, cat-girl anthro, ex-general of Catastrophe's army (long story)

-Lycaella, human, traveler

-Nygrune (probably), human FAFA worker, is teaching Lycaella and all others on their side magic

-Sprocket, cyborg human, Resistance member

-Trillian, human, Resistance member

-Autumn, werewolf, co-leader of the Elven Resistance

-Rose, elf, co-leader of the Elven Resistance

-Anyone else who is there that I'm not aware of (may include Alexander R., fox anthro traveler from another land)

Catastrophe side:

-Dee Lark, (probably) human, daughter of Lieutenant Lark, new charrie with as-yet-unrevealed backstory

-Alexandria, human, general of the SOCS army, sister of shadow

-Poe Allen, human (I think), leader of what used to be Elliot's army

-Rogustine, unknown species (probably human), NPC assassin

-An unnamed NPC scientist, presumably human, a scientist

-Various other NPC prisoners

-Anyone else that I'm not aware of

I silently watch out the window of the Resistance's lab. Am I a prisoner? Or am I considered a scientist at this point? I mean, I never considered the SOCS that I was a part of to be battling the rebels, but then I guess we always were.

My room is nice. There's a lab right next to it. But whenever I enter the lab or room, the door is immediatly locked. There is no trust level.

I heard about the prisoners the Resistance kept, from other scientists.

The boy Poe Allen, a lieutenant's daughter Dee Lark, an assasin, and Alexandria. I also heard about how Alexandria and Shadow are sisters. Luckily Shadow hasn't found out yet that I'm the one who gave her wings.

Scientists suddenly pour into the lab, going over the computers and checking the moniters.

The head scientist, Ms. Tagan, comes up to me.

"Miss Steller, how are your results going?"

I realize that I've been holding the same pen and paper while thinking and not taking any notes on the moniters or computers.

"Oh, um, er-"

"Miss Steller, I suggest you get to work. The Resistance is being a little more lax with you, but you still are considered a prisoner of war. Please hurry and get those notes written down so we can proceed with the experimentation."

I gulp and nod as she walks off to the other scientists.

I almost forgot.

We're creating Truth Serums for the prisoners.

I stand next to Sprocket with my arms crossed and one paw on my chin.

I observe the five prisoners through the window that I can see through but they can. Nevertheless, Alexandria's blue eyes pierce into my mind.

"Have they got everything ready?" Sprocket mutters.

I nod. "The prisoners will have the serum injected into them. If they still don't coorperate, then we'll put them into the recreation of the fear simulator."

Sprocket nods and we watch as one by one the prisoners are injected with the serum. The interrogator begins with the scientist, Alissa Steller.

"Tell me, Miss Steller, did you come up with any important formulas while in the SOCS facility?"

Alissa nods drowsily. "T-49605."

"I beg your pardon?" the interrogator asks.

"T-49605,3749284-TWD,4823057446, HIDnN8349," Alissa mutters.

She's really under.

The interrogator tries again several times but gets the same numbers and letters out of her. Finally the interrogator gives up and look towards us.

"Don't put her in, she's just not functioning well," Sprocket tells an officer standing beisde us. "Take her back to her room and make sure that stuff was written down."

The officer nods and walks into the interrogation room and whispers what Sprocket said into the interrogator's room. The interrogator nods and Alissa is escorted out of the room.

The asassin is next. His interrogation goes by smoothly, and he blurts a few things out. I sometimes catch Poe Allen giving him a side-ways look. The asassin is escorted out of the room and the next to go is Dee Lark.

But she passes out mid-interrogation.

"The serum must have had a bad effect on her," Sprocket mutters.

I nod and agree silently.

Poe Allen is next.

The interrogator literally begs for information, but Poe Allen stays completly silent. Completley.

Sprocket even goes in there and looks to threaten him, but he stares up at her, obviously also fighting the serum.

Sprocket finally yells for him to be taken away, most likely to the fear simulator.

Alexandria smiles fakily up at Sprocket as Sprocket dismisses the interragator.

Right before Poe Allen leaves, he shoots a worried glance at Alexandria, but his expression turns cold again when the soldiers shove him out the door.

"Hi princess," Sprocket begins. "Tell us something we don't know."

"That's just it, you know everything, so I have nothing to give," Alexandria calmly shoots back.

"Oh you know we don't," Sprocket replies with a deadly sweetness. "And we know you do. The floor's all yours, Alexandria. What plans are there that the New Republic wants to throw against us?"

"One thing's for sure, when we throw it at you, you won't be able to catch it," Alexandria snaps back.

The entire interrogation, Alexandria is sarcastic, and she doesn't tell us anything.

Finally, she's escorted to the fear simulator also, and both her, Poe Allen, a few soldiers, and a captain are locked in the room so no one can come in.

Sprocket and I walk back to the offices when Shadow comes running up to us.

"Guys," she says, panting to catch her breath. "Where is Alexandria?"

Sprocket and I look at each other.

Sprocket clears her throat nervously. "What?"

Shadow stands up and regains herself, looking at us. "I asked, where is Alexandria?"

A soldier from the army had summoned me fronm my chambers, telling me about the interrogations. I flew all the way there.

"I think I know how we can get something out of her," I say, "Where is she?"

Mina and Trillian show meto the cell where they are keeping my sister.

"What are the results from the last interrogation?" I ask

"Nothing useful," Mina responds, "Mostly sarcastic answers. She even started singing, I hear. Must run in the family," she smiled.

"Okay," I say, thinking of the strategy I hope to use, "Send me in."

Dear Resistance,

It has come to your attention that Poe Allen's memories have been wiped. As new leader of the Republic of SailHaven, I would emplore you to listen. I have been left with a nation of cuthroats, and they demand payment for what has been done. You promised that we would recieve dignity and structure as a governemnt, but those, sadly, dissapeared. You have ignored use. Since Alexander's death, we have received not one communication from your group. I thought you were here to help.

It saddens me that this issue has gone unsolved. We have started to occupy neighboring areas for supplies, weapons, and influence. And this will continue untill

(a) I see a mature adult leading the Resistance

(b) An official declaration of war is sent

(c) You give use what we promised.
