SailHaven

(I will do an explaination, then people can add to the story.)

SailHaven is my home city. It is a floating city, with a network of tunnels, allowing crime syndicates to evolve. The scientists there mostly develop implants, like blades in arms, or wearable tech, like monicles with lenses for seeing in the dark and stuff like that. I got exiled after creating blades that could be installed in arms, but they worked like a cat's claws, and could be hidden completely. After several assassinations, they had to punish me for making them.

The sneaky force you're proposing sounds like it doesn't have to wait for Catastrophe's downfall to attempt to induce Stockholm Syndrome. I also dislike that the Resistance is disbanding now, of all times, but it may be a plot device. I wouldn't mind following this path for a while just to see where it goes. And just because we're not an official organization anymore doesn't mean we can't still contact each other. Oh, now I have an idea for a freelance messenger charrie! Also, Ronan, what did happen to you? I think someone posted about finding you, Icy, Ecio and Caelani in the woods somewhere, but I don't remember who. Karune and Lilly will still offer shelter if you go to their mansion, but since they've been invited to your execution, I don't know what's going to happen. Unless Lilly is okay with staying behind for whatever reason? A real death isn't something I imagine most people would want a young girl to see.

I'm sorry, this wasn't all of what I wanted to say, but I don't know how to say the rest. I believe that the fragmented remains of the Resistance will continue to defend Kyngdom, just like we did before it was formed. We'll strive for what we want and make do with what we have. And maybe we'll reform with stronger bonds, like a broken bone healing. I don't know. Anything is possible.

Sorry, Sarah too.

But we're the strongest when we're together. That's why we need to stick together. If you take one link away, let alone a few, bad things might happen.

I don't want them to, but sometimes bad things need to happen.

Should I still work for the Resistance and just be kinda like a spy? Maybe trying to find the best way to wear down Catastrophe? And maybe shadow and Elliot could have a talk and determine what the main goals of the Resistance are. I'm sure that there is a solution that could satisfy both sides.

But I think these bad things that will happen will kill a lot of people.

Do you know the Powers?

Really, do you?

They are blooodthirsty savages: the unrelenting gos of Kyngdom. I came from beyond, and I saw what could happen when we start worshipping the Powers. They take human form, and then take over. They don't reapy blood lost; the death of innocents, even demanding sacrafice and tribute.

What have the Powers done when SailHaven was being blown apart by She Who Is All? What did they do when Catastrophe slaughtered thosands? WHat did they do when Kyngdom fell to anarchy? Nothing. They feed off of us. We need to let the humans and fae and vampires and angels and the animals have a shot at the power. We need a new dynasty.

I visited the universe where I came from. The metal grew legs, and it bent to the will of the gods. They made the Relics, and made us suffer for stealing their land, our land. They became warlords. They captured vampires, and turned them mad. We were not fighting ourselfs, we were fighting the very gods. And this will happen once we unleash the Powers. We must kill Jaaws and the other side-affected Powers. We must take the Insturments, and lock them up. We must destroy their monuments, and build a new dynasty. We cannot go down the path we have started. The powers are leaches. They suck our blood untill we have none for ourselfs. We must take back out Kyngdom.

I would rather join Catastrophe than see the Powers walking my Kyngdom.

Should we hold a council?

submitted by Sprocket
(February 22, 2017 - 4:16 pm)

I've been sitting in the Resistance Building in Sailhaven for forever now. Doing paperwork, writing essays, the usual. While my friends are out battling some monster. Hooray.

But while I was here, I heard awful things. Things that...I didn't really. Like. Very. Much.

Things that Elliot said that I didn't understand, or want to understand, things I hated and very much wanted to HURT someone for. Preferably him.

Because if he knew who--what, according to many--I am, I wouldn't be here today. My questions are how I'm going to admit this. I can't keep it as a secret forever, can I?

I sign a piece of paper with my pen name and put it into an ever-growing pile, then sigh and put a candle to a match and start making the Resistance seal on an envelope. Quite old-fashioned, but who am I to talk?

Grhh. I tear a piece into shreds and toss it into the waste bin. Then I catch a glimpse of a glossy pamphlet in the trash can.

I pick it up and glance it over.

It's Ronan's execution pamphlet.

And he was executed days ago.

Before I can stop myself, a scream escapes my mouth and I drop the candle. Hot wax flies across my desk and solidifies on the carpet.

AUTHOR'S NOTE:

I know Ronan isn't dead, but Icy doesn't know this and is probably terrified/half insane/grieving insanely.

I soar out of one of the many windows of Sailhaven's Palace. The city is definitely beautiful. Mina told me she didn't want to abandon the Resistance, and so I hugged her and bid her farewell. Maybe I will return here one day, work for the Resistance once again, but first I need to save my sister, and heal our broken family. Then I will go and get the Power of Hoof. And hopefully, we will kill Catastrophe.

But first I must meet up with someone. Jake. Or as Mina, Alexandria, and Sprocket like to tease, my boyfriend.

I flutter down into the alleyway, where I meet up with Jake.

"Do you have the equipment?" I ask, my voice at a whisper.

"Of course," He whispers back, "Do you have the supplies?"

"Two sleeping bags, a tent, travel armor, extra underwear, and rations that should last for weeks."

"Great," He says, "Now let's go."

He retreats deeper into the alleyway, and comes back with the reins of a pegsus in his hands. We load the supplies onto her, and the Jake mounts her. And then we take off together, soaring into the sky.

I hear banging in the next room and head over to find Icy collapsed on the desk, crying. I look over at a paper that has to do with Ronan's execution.

"Icy," I say gently, walking up to her.

She looks up at me. "Hey."

"I'm sorry," I say softly. "But we have to go to the meeting room. Something's going to happen, and now there's a third force that could be as dangerous and as horrible as Catastrophe."

What will happen to the Winged Ones if the Resistance disbands? SOCS and Catastrophe are especially after us, remember? I know there's Shadow and Alexandria and them, but what about Brynn? And now that Aviance is hurt, she is really vulnerable. Not to mention that when I saw Aviance at the hospital, Vol was not moving from her side. I mean literally not moving. And so many others are hurt... we can't just leave them behind and 'go our seperate ways'. I'm not trying to sound rude, but in my opinion, we shouldn't disband. It seems really pathetic and, honestly, a cowardly, weak move. I'm sorry you disagree, but we can't leave our friends behind to find the Powers. We need to find Catastrophe! And in case you forgot, there's an execution that's going to happen. Soon.

Sorry for ranting. Laughing

CAPTCHA says ygbf. Is that like a weird version of TGIF? Only... it's Thursday. Wait! I got it. YGBF = Y Gotta Be Fallin'. It's like, when you fall over, you say, "YGBF, man!" Get it? This is what we all need.

I head into the council room. The walking cat whose name I forgot had called an emergency meeting. I wasn't part of the Resistance leaders, but they had ushered me in anyways. Eliza was there, as well as everyone else.

There had been whisperings of a leader leaving, deserting before they had begun their council. The majority of the people seated around the table looked sad, and one even looked like she had been crying.

The door closed with a thud, startling everyone. The cat/girl at the front of the table cleared her throat.

"We have called an emergency council to discuss many matters of extreme importance."She took a deep breath and continued. "I know that many of you have thoughts of leaving the Resistance for countless stupid reasons. I say this because it is stupid. We joined with a single goal, to stop the tryanny in Kyngdom. If we disband then it leaves Kyngdom without hope. Catastrophe is rising to power and fast. We cannot afford to fight over small things. We only prove our destruction if we do."

She looked at each and every one of us.

"If you have any contoversal matters that explain you leaving please tell. We will discuss and hopefully resolve the issues."

*OUT OF CHARRIE*

Yes! I agree! Thank you!

*IN CHARRIE*

Aviance sat at the table, watching them argue. Shadow had taken her, Connie, and Vol into the Resistance meeting of leaders, and Connie was really fired up, actually getting into the heat. Aviance felt weak and strange. Her left leg didn't feel right; the doctor had said that something was definitely up with that dagger, it had poison on it or something. Vol was distracted from everything, constantly worried about her. It was the same with the doctors and nurses, and even Brynn had fussed over her. Brynn was seven, she shouldn't be worried about poisoned daggers and death angels, she should be playing, making friends, reading, drawing, writing, being a kid. She had time before she needed to worry.

` "Are you okay? Do you need anything?" Vol asked gently. Aviance wanted to scream at him, at everyone, 'Quit fussing over me! There's a war going on here! People are dying! Other people are killing those people! A stupid wound in the leg doesn't matter!' But instead, she simply replied, "I'm fine."

Connie was standing, debating with all those stupid people who wanted to leave the Resistance. Someone was yelling, someone was banging their fists, someone was rolling their eyes, and suddenly everything was quiet because someone had stood up and knocked over their chair. The pain in her leg was insane, and she couldn't figure out why everyone was staring at her as she heard the words coming out of her mouth, almost against her will.

"I thought Mina made it perfectly clear," She said, her voice echoing across the room. "It is a stupid, weak move to leave. Catastrophe wants to kill us." She took a deep breath. "I don't know if you know what death looks like, feels like," she surveyed the room. "When I was ten my mother disappeared. All the people who had raised me, all of her friends, gone. Two bodies were found, and I saw them. I was ten years old." Whispers ran across the room. "I know what death feels like. I don't want to witness any more death. Leave if you will. But know that by leaving, you are risking the lives of people you know and love. Know this, and leave if you must. But know. I will stand by my friends." And she sat down in the chair Vol had picked up, almost not knowing what she had said, but knowing she had said it, and that was enough.
