Knights? Again!? We'd just gotten away!!! But knights it is, floating on what looks like balloons, except they are huge, floating, pink, and heart shaped. And glittery. Very glittery. They have drawings of unicorns and caricature-y birds on them.
"You've got to be kidding me," Endey mutters. "Big baloons, of all things?"
Elyana is eyeing these 'baloons' in apprehension. "These can't be normal," she remarks.
"She's got a point," Arlen agrees. "I've never seen anything like them,"
"Hey!" Aleakim calls. "Where'd you get the balloons?"
The knight in the lead, Sir Grenere, pauses, still hanging on to his balloon. It looks so pathetic that it would be kind of funny if we were watching from a distance.
"We have sacrificed a Royal Cow so that Ceros the Unicorn God will Favor Us on our Journey," he explains, "and He has Presented Us with these Big Balloons of Nobility and Honor."
Knowing the knights way too well, I can't refrain from inquiring, "How many capitals would that have if you wrote that down?"
He contemplates for a moment. "Never tried," he finally settles on saying. "CHARGE!!!"
We flew away, naturally, faster than we have ever flown. I'm a little annoyed, because I (obviously) want to stay and fight the knights. But seeing as we've lost every single battle we'd participated in so far, that might not be the wizest move.
My wish was later granted, however, for better or for worse.

I sat on the edge of a cliff with Kerra, tossing neglected dragon scales over the edge, and watching the friends I'd known in life, as always.
"Big balloons?" I ask in confusion.
"Why do I feel like unicorns are involved in this?" Kerra asks.
"Because unicorns are usually involved in anything annoying. And in any deaths."
