KotLC RP!
Hey, guys! I recently got into Keeper of the Lost Cities, and I've noticed that some of you like it too, so I thought I'd make an RP. I'll put the character sheet, then the rules, and a basic description of the series for anyone who doesn't know. I'm also going to create the first comment on this thread as a "General Comment", so that anyone who joins late can see the plot so far. Now, let's get started!
Character Sheet:
Name:
Age:
Appearance:
Ability(s):
Home name:
School:
School Level, if needed:
RULES
-Your character may bear similarities to a character in the book, but you can't RP as a character in the book.
-Your character can have more than one ability.
-You can have as many characters as you want, though try to keep it to 3.
-Try not to lead the plot like it is in the series!
-Characters from the books can exist, but just as side characters. Don't involve any book characters in major things.
Series Description (with as few spoilers as possible):
Keeper of the Lost Cities is a currently 8.5 book series (more coming soon). The series is about a girl named Sophie Foster who finds out she's an elf, though they're not what we usually picture them to be. They look like humans, only they dress differently. (Usually tunics and pants with capes and cloaks, though girls wear dresses when going about if they're in nobility) and they live in what are called the "Lost Cities", called this because they are lost to humans. For example, Atlantis is a Lost City. Anyway, Sophie we discover is the creation of a group called the Black Swan, whose total motives and reasoning are still unknown. Right now, the Council, a group of elvin leaders who are basically the government, want to find them because they are going against elvin law. (Like going into the "Forbbiden Cities" which is the human world.) Though no one knows exactly who is in the Black Swan, or basically anything about them. Sophie has multiple special and enhanced abilities (like she's a telepath with an inpentrable mind) because the Black Swan created her and tweaked her genes. She has information that she can't access stored away in her mind, and is only given clues here and there by the Black Swan to help both humans and elves.
That's it!

Good Ideas! Maybe we could say that a small group of humans has discovered the Elves and want to corrupt them! The Council might think it's the Neverseen (which in this idea was a dead organization awhile ago) coming back from the ashes, but it's really the humans (and maybe the Neverseen is helping them or something). Maybe a human has gotten into Foxfire or Exilium and is disguising as an elf, the charries discover their secrets and try to stop them?
Any more thoughts and/or ideas?

Yes! So like, maybe the elves that are helping just want to take the humans to Atlantis where they originally lived, but some of the humans are still mad and want to concer the elves for good? And then we would need a name for that organization and the one the kids start. So, if everyone else agrees with the organizations, we could post suggestions for names, and we would continue developing the plot while we work on the names? How is that? Everyone, please continue posting suggestions for the plot if you have any!

Okay so my life just got super crazy, so I don't think I'll be participating in this. I'll still take part in the role plays that have already started but I'm going to drop out of this. It looks really fun, but I don't think I'll have the mental compacity to keep up with it. Sorry!

Okay, so humans find out about the elves (how long have they known? This could be a deeper plot than it appears), and some want an equal share with the other species in Atlantis, and some want to take over? I like that. Maybe there are some others who want a specific item from somewhere? Or revenge. Is Vespera still around? (sorry spoilers sorta) There could be some who are out for her.
How would humans go about conquering the elves? How many are on their side? They could try the Alicorn-timeline-to-extinction-blackmail thing, or maybe they'd join forces with the ogres or trolls? *gasp* What if they convince the gnomes to be on their side?
And then our charries find a human, maybe at Foxfire? Whoa, what if an elvin family has an adopted human who grew up with them? Kinda like reverse Sophie? except not, you know, genetically enhanced, just a way to get humans in the Lost Cities I guess. And the human could know about the plan or not...

I do like the idea of convincing other species to help them - I'd only be conserned on how we would link them to the humans. And I like what is said below about a few humans knowing, but just going bitter now. So what if the humans who knew gathered some followers (yet again - maybe Tolkien is one of them and can like, call the elves somehow) and got some elves, and then began their project? And the human child adoption - that sounds great. Oh! And that means that the organization would have been plotting there entry for however many years the child is aged (or a few more)! Maybe the human also had secrets imbedded in their brain...?

@ChangelingChild, good point, no Vespera. Also we should totally use that Tolkien connection! (I got obsessed with Lord of the Rings this week :P)
@Neverseen, I don't think we'd use Tolkien himself, just descendants of him or his friends who he might've passed the secret on to. Yeah, I think the human organisation should have been going on for a while, though. OOoh, what kind of secrets? Cool idea, especially if they have a Telepath on their team. Also, what if the adopted human has an ability? Would that be too much like Project Moonlark? I mean they could have gotten their idea from the Black Swan. And the human would have different genetics, so he/she could have a completely different ability! I still like the idea of involving the Sanctuary, maybe something involving animals?
Organisation name ideas - Some reference to Tolkien would be cool, like the Wanderers or the Ringbearers? Ooh, they could use some ring-ish gadget as an identifying symbol/means of communication/something. That'd be cool. Or something else more like the Roaring Shadow, Golden Falcon, Ever Jewel, Autumn Falcon.
Also maybe the adopted human should be an NPC.
Like ChangelingChild said, I'm just brainstorming here, no worries if we don't use these
(Sorry for the long post, I really like where this is going :P)

^^Yesss to all of this!
For those who don't know, I'm a total Tolkien nerd, so I'm going to suggest some names from Tolkien's books for the organization, if you don't mind. If you don't like any of them, then feel free to ignore this :P Anyway, some major Elvish groups in Tolkien's world are the Noldor, the Vanyar, the Teleri, the Sindar, the Silvan, and the Avari. I'm not sure if any of those would work as names for the organization, but we'll see :)

Do our characters know each other? If so I think one of them should try and make friends with this girl who is secretly a human. They suspect that somethings not right with her and start investingating. Maybe then they discover a secret organization!
