Forest Role Play
In the middle of a huge sea of trees lies a tiny town.
The forest used to be called Silva Vivus Umbrare, which, when translated from the old language, means the Forest of Living Shadows, but the people just called it the Woods. Still, the forest lived up to its old name.
The trees moved during the night, uprooting themselves and gliding across the earth to a new spot. Sometimes the guards on duty at night would catch a glimps of an elk or deer gliding through the trees with a tall, graceful figure on its back. Occasionally, a larger creature slipped past the guards and stole away a cow or pig or goat.
But even with all of the dangers which surrounded them, the people of the town were proud to say that through the half-decade of the existance of the town, they have never lost a person to the woods or to any creature living in the woods.
Until now.
This year, during the Cilana festival, a time in the spring when the people cut down all the trees which have grown at or moved to the edge of the town, three young children disappeared.
Alana, an eight-year-old girl with frizzy red hair and a quick smile, Jakob, a serious five-year-old boy with sunburned skin from too many naps in the open, and Zena, a talkative seven-year-old girl with intense blue eyes. Their disappearence stopped the Cilana festival and threw the town into chaos.
The townspeaple knew that the three would never have gone off into the Woods by themselves, for the fear of the forest was too deep set in everyone, so the townspeople could only think that they had been kindnapped or stolen. Although the townspeaple were frightened and scared and the parents of the children were frantic, only a few people dared to go out into the woods.
You, along with a small group, have decided to venture into the forest to see if the children can still be found. Your bravery has given the town new hope, and the townspeaple have provided you with weapons, tools, and horses. You will leave on the new moon.

I'll post my character once this thread shows up, and I'll start the roleplay on Saturday, July 25.
Other notes: Don't be afraid to move the story forward! Feel free to introduce your favorite kinds of magical creatures, write memorable settings in the forest, and put the charries in danger!
If anyone decides to drop out, which I hope will not happen, consider putting up one last post to take care of your character, whether to have them return to the village or be trapped somewhere or die. (Wow, that was slightly depressing!)

"So..what do we do now?" Iyara asked.
"Obviously we head home," Sebastion stated.
"But..." Jeannie trailed off. "I'm still curious as to why Jakob, Alana, and Zena were taken."
"As am I," I spoke up.
"Yeah, me too," Ash agreed. Azi also voiced his agreement.
"We'll figure that out once we get back," Sebastion said firmly. "Right now we need to come up with a gameplan to get out of here before anything tragic happens again."
"Casualties are inevitable at this point," Iyara said. Jakob starts crying. Iyara and I squat down to comfort him while the conversation gets heated.
"I think we should stay for a while, get our bearings and think of a detailed plan for getting out," Caston suggest.
"No, we can't wait that long!" Sebastion yells. "Everyone listen to me! We don't have time to sit around and wait for someone or something to kill us all!"
"Guys, calm down. Remember? Hate attracts those horrid animals," Jeannie steps in between Sebastion and the others.
"Where's Zander and Macy? We should get their opinion too," I say.
"Um..let's leave them alone for the time being.." Jeannie said quietly.
"Why?" I ask
"I think they're...having a moment..." she responds.
"What? Those two fight like cats and dogs!"
"I think something clicked between them when Macy offered her life instead of Zena's." Jeannie said. "Zander might've realized...well I don't know. But let's leave-"
"There's no time for "moments" when lives are possibly in danger." Sebastion interrupted "I'm going over-"
"Let's have someone else do it...you seem a little...intense right now." Iyara suggested.
"I'll do it," I offered. No one objected so I stood up and strode over to the bushes that seperated us from Zander and Macy.
I squeezed though the bush and looked up to see...I had to blink a couple times to believe what I was seeing. Zander was hugging Macy who was still shaken from the previous events and I suspected she was also slightly taken aback by Zander's change of heart.
"Hey, it's all right, I admired how brave you were back there," Zander whispered to her.
"T-Thanks..." she said. "And thanks for staying with me."
"No problem..you know, I don't only admire your bravery, I, erm, also admire-" he started, but I suddenly felt guilty for eavesdropping and quickly left, not hearing anymore.
When I got back to the group Sebastion asked, "Well? Are they coming?"
"Jeannie's right, they're having a special moment, and I'd rather not interrupt," I say, smiling. Just then Zander and Macy walk over.
"Finally," Sebastion muttered. "Zander and Macy, the others want to ask your opinion of what we should do next, either stay and figure out a plan, or book it out of here before anything horrible happens."

Okay so @Sammy E. Or @Lumi or @whoever is writing the Zander part of the ship I'm gonna try a spin? If it doesnt work out we can use your post.

"Hey, It's alright, I admired how brave you were back there," Zander whispered to me. We were sitting on a log. The rest of the group had left us alone.
"T-thanks" I said still choking on some tears, "And thanks for staying with me." The realization that I could have died was still sinking in. I was glad Zander was there, I didn't want to be alone.
"No problem.. you know, I don't only admire your bravery, I, erm, also admire just you as a whole." He said.
I glance up at him and he's looking at and smiling. I can feel my cheeks flush. I glance away.
"hey," he says, "It's okay," His hand rests on my cheek wiping away the tears.
"Do you know why I did it?" I ask in a shakey voice.
"you can tell me," He says in a concerned tone.
"I didn't think that anyone would care if I made it back. This has been about the kids, it always has been about the kids. Any of the others would do it with no hesitation but they know these kids. I don't! No one would care if I didn't make it back. I'm "that girl". I didn't realize that it was going to do this to me!" I'm now crying again.
"hey, hey ,hey" he says in a gentle voice, "I may not remember you but here's what I do know okay? 1. You are such a strong girl! You are so incredibly brave! 2. You are not alone in this! You have me, Jeanine, Demi, the whole group! We have your back. and 3. You can do anything you put your mind to. You stick with your beliefs. You care so much bout people. You know how I know that?"
"how?" I ask my voice breaking.
" I... like you." He says.
"Zander..."
He pulls me into a hug and we stay there for a few seconds.
"We should head back to the group." He says smiling at me
"fiiine" I sigh wiping away my tears.
We return to the group.

I'm not the best at writing love, that's why I didn't write much for Zacy, so I think there should be another moment for Zacy not written by..me. Hehe. Sorry it wasn't great.

Once Zander and Macy come back from their moment, we start trying to work out a plan.
"I think we should try to get home as quickly as possible," Jeannie says, one arm protectively around Alana.
Zander coughs lightly. "Hey, really quick, can I get all of your names?"
Sebastion rolls his eyes. "Right, I forgot he still has amnesia."
"We have to deal with that, too," Iyara reminds everyone.
"I'll work on it with him," Macy says, stepping a little closer to Zander. I see Demi and Jeannie hide smiles.
Figuring I won't be much help in the conversation, I say, "I'll start packing up the camp while you all decide what to do!" Sebastion gives a brief nod and continues throwing out ideas.
I walk the short distance back to the camp and begin taking down our makeshift shelter. As I do, I feel a tug on my sleeve and look down. It's Jakob.
"Are we leaving?" he asks, looking up with serious eyes.
I crouch down to talk to him. "Yes, Jakob, we're leaving. Just as soon as everyone figures out what to do, alright?"
He surprises me with a tight hug. "I missed you, Caston."
Jakob's parents are good friends of my parents, so he's known me since birth. I used to show him creature tracks and teach him the differences.
I hug him back. "I missed you too. I'm very glad you're safe."
Jakob grabs my hand when I stand up. "What about the Zenas?"
I look at him, confused. "Zenas?"
He nods earnestly. "Over there!" He points to a large tree, and I see two small figures sitting by the roots. Two identical figures.
Zena and her doppleganger are sitting side by side, but it's impossible to tell which is real and which is fake. Which is very, very bad.
"Guys?" I call. "We have a problem."

"Guys?" Caston calls from the camp. "We have a problem."
All of us jog over (except Zander and Macy of course). "What's up?" I ask.
"We still have the...Zena issue." he says slowly.
"Right." Sebastian sighs.
"Should we question them?" Iyara suggests.
"Or maybe Sebastian should decide which Zena is the true Zena," Jeannie speaks up.
"Let's go with the latter," Sebastian says. We all walk over to the two Zenas and Sebastian kneels down so he can look them in the eye. Left Zena sits there, staring at Sebastian. Right Zena is shaking a little bit, probably the one who was held captive by Enoch.
After a pause, Sebastain stands up and whispers to us, "Remember a couple weeks ago when I found Zena's hair ribbon tied to a tree?" We nod. "Left Zena has a hair ribbon, and Right Zena does not." He reaches into his trousers pocket and pulls out a blue ribbon.
He turns around and hugs Right Zena fiercly. "I missed you," Sebastian says, choked up. I can't imagine how it must feel to find someone near and dear to your heart who's been missing for over a month.

Iyara’s POV
Sebastian hugs the real Zena, and I put my arms around Alana and Jakob, who are standing at my feet. They lean into me, sleepy after all the excitement.
“I think we should stay here for the night, and we can start back to the village tomorrow morning. I think the kids need some sleep, and we have to deal with Zander’s amnesia.”
I pick up Jakob and carry him to my tent, Alana following me. I wrap them both up in blankets and call Spirit in to keep them safe. They might be hungry, but they’re tired enough not to notice it until tomorrow. Sebastian sits down on a log, wrapping Real Zena in his arms. Jeannie has started some soup, and I go over to help her with it.
“So what do you think about Zander’s amnesia?” I ask her. “I wonder if we just tell him all that’s happened... would he remember? Maybe we just need to dump ice water in him, or hit over the head. Mental recalibration!” Jeannie looks alarmed, so I grin to show that I was just joking. She smiles a bit, then grabs some plates and puts meat and veggies on them. She’s clearly deep in thought, so I take the plates from her to pass them out. Zena’s asleep now, leaning on Sebastian’s shoulder, and Macy and Zander are talking, heads together, in low voices. I hand them their food without saying anything, but smile at Demi as I hand her a plate. She smiles back, happy that we are finally making progress. I head back to Jeannie, who takes a deep breath and says...
alright. So I’m gonna be out of town for a couple days, no WiFi. So I won’t be able to post. Hopefully I didn’t miss anything important or anything! Read you all later!!
