Forest Role Play
In the middle of a huge sea of trees lies a tiny town.
The forest used to be called Silva Vivus Umbrare, which, when translated from the old language, means the Forest of Living Shadows, but the people just called it the Woods. Still, the forest lived up to its old name.
The trees moved during the night, uprooting themselves and gliding across the earth to a new spot. Sometimes the guards on duty at night would catch a glimps of an elk or deer gliding through the trees with a tall, graceful figure on its back. Occasionally, a larger creature slipped past the guards and stole away a cow or pig or goat.
But even with all of the dangers which surrounded them, the people of the town were proud to say that through the half-decade of the existance of the town, they have never lost a person to the woods or to any creature living in the woods.
Until now.
This year, during the Cilana festival, a time in the spring when the people cut down all the trees which have grown at or moved to the edge of the town, three young children disappeared.
Alana, an eight-year-old girl with frizzy red hair and a quick smile, Jakob, a serious five-year-old boy with sunburned skin from too many naps in the open, and Zena, a talkative seven-year-old girl with intense blue eyes. Their disappearence stopped the Cilana festival and threw the town into chaos.
The townspeaple knew that the three would never have gone off into the Woods by themselves, for the fear of the forest was too deep set in everyone, so the townspeople could only think that they had been kindnapped or stolen. Although the townspeaple were frightened and scared and the parents of the children were frantic, only a few people dared to go out into the woods.
You, along with a small group, have decided to venture into the forest to see if the children can still be found. Your bravery has given the town new hope, and the townspeaple have provided you with weapons, tools, and horses. You will leave on the new moon.

I'll post my character once this thread shows up, and I'll start the roleplay on Saturday, July 25.
Other notes: Don't be afraid to move the story forward! Feel free to introduce your favorite kinds of magical creatures, write memorable settings in the forest, and put the charries in danger!
If anyone decides to drop out, which I hope will not happen, consider putting up one last post to take care of your character, whether to have them return to the village or be trapped somewhere or die. (Wow, that was slightly depressing!)

Name: Zander Sionnach Glic
Age: 17
Gender: Male
Appearence: Dark brown messy hair, emerald green eyes, Tan-ish white skin color. Average height, muscular.
Personality: Intelligent, kind, responsible, and cares deeply about the people around him. He can be demanding, and likes being in charge.
Quirks: What type of quirks? Like powers or...?
Flaws: Well, his character flaws: He’s too trusting, and determined that he and his friends can do anything, which tends to put pressure on them.
Shipping: YES!
Other: He loves animals and reading. He’s the oldest of his 8 siblings. His mother died two years ago, and his father disappeared shortly after when he went to look for a better job. He looks after his siblings with his twin sister, Zaida.

By quirks, I mean habits or characteristics that make your character interesting or unique. For example, maybe a character has a habit of staring up at the sky, or a wierd fobia of insects, or is randomely very good at imitating bird calls. That's the kind of quirk I mean. :-)

Age: 14
Gender: Female
Appearance: She has tan skin, gold eyes, dark brown hair that’s aleays in a high ponytail, and she wears dark jeans, a forest green shirt, and several bracelets. She carries a dagger and a bow and arrows.
Personality: She is smart, a strategist, not very trusting of people she doesn’t know, stubborn, but also very measured. She loves kids, though she doesn’t really show it. Oh, she’s a bit like Sundew from WoF.
Quirks: um, she probably has some Roma in her, and likes the outdoors.
Flaws: she will do anything for her friends, especially kids.
Shipping: Open to anyone around her age
Other: she has a border collie named Pride who will be coming with her.

Eyyyyyyyy, sounds super cool!
Name: Ash
Age: 20
Gender: Boy
Appearance: Messy black hair, electric blue eyes, freckles, a huge smile, and pointy ears. He likes to wear dramatic, if slightly impractical clothes, like huge flashy coats and hats. And he also really likes the color yellow.
Personality: He's cheerful, eccentric, and an all-around really friendly person! He leans toward the dramatic, and he's known for being quirky and kind. He's always smiling, like always, a huge, genuine (but slightly creepy sometimes) smile.
Quirks: He can juggle, do twenty-seven cartwheels in a row without getting dizzy, smile all the time, do card tricks, mimic other people's voices, and sing.
Flaws: He's honestly kind of useless in any dangerous situation . . . he's just there for moral support.
Shipping: Heck yeah! To both boys and girls!

Okay, here's my character:
Name: Sebastian Whitacre
Age: 15
Gender: Male
Appearance: Tall, with bright blue eyes and dark brown hair pulled back into a short ponytail. He has a course green tunic, and has a bow and quiver slung over his hsoulders. His rope belt has several pouches and a large knife in a sheath hanging from it. His brown trousers are tucked into a riding boot on his left foot, and are rolled up on his right to reveal the bottom of a sturdy peg leg.
Personality: He's very serious, and always alert, like his father, who guards the town, taught him to be. He's suspicious of anything remotely magical or mysterius. He's taken their mission to heart, and so he gets irritable if anyone jokes around or doesn't take things seriously. He would rather attack a magical creature than try to speak to it. He doesn't smile much, but when he does, his whole face softens.
Quirks: He talks to the horses and woodland creatures as if they can understand him. He can ride very well even with the prosthetic leg, but even though he's very good at using it he can't run as fast as others.
Flaws: He doesn't trust very easily, and holds grudges.
Shipping: Open to shipping with girls around his age.
Other: He lost his right leg when a manticore attacked the town one year before the events of this story. Zena, one of the missing children, is his sister.

This sounds amazing! Here is my charrie:
Name: Demi Alder
Age: 15
Gender: Female
Appearence: Bright green eyes, tan skin, long brown hair that goes down to her waist. Wears a blouse that is tucked into a long, ankle-length skirt.
Personality: Tries to be optimistic, but that can annoy people sometimes. Is very protective of friends and family, and would put herself in danger to save them. Otherwise very friendly and helpful, loves to be around people. Loves to cook and climb trees.
Quirks: At night she will get up and ponder life. She has an uncanny sense of whether a mushroom or berry is good or not.
Flaws: She has autophobia (fear of being alone) and will panic when she is not near anyone. She also gets a little upset when no one agrees with her or understands her.
Shipping: Sure! Boys around her age!
Other: She is bringing a journal and a pen, she loves to journal.

Age: 16
Gender: Male
Appearance: He has deep, chocolate brown hair, that's kinda combed out, but kinda messy, too, since he LOVES the outdoors. He has a grey t-shirt with a denim jeans jacket, with denim jeans and black sneakers. He also has tan skin, pale blue eyes, and a brown hat.
Personality: He can be shy, and kinda friendly, but also defending, and he can be a bit of a hot-head at times...
Quirks: I don't know if this is a quirk, but he can make friends really quickly. He also LOVES apples, especially the Red Delicious kind.
Flaws: He can get hurt easily, so if he trips over a tree root, he'll kinda just lay there for a minute, and he'll start bleeding where ever he hit himself hardest.
Shipping: He would like to be friends with a few guys, and maybe a couple of girls, too.

I don't have any idea what quirks he's going to have.
When I make a character, I usually add things as I go along. Right now even I don't know much about him. XD
He is a skilled horserider, though.

Name: Azi Kumar
Age: 17
Gender: Male
Appearence: 5'9, with medium/dark brown skin and a pointy face. Light build and curly black hair, with a huge smile. He has two long daggers that he holds in a reverse grip, and usually carries on his back.
Personality: Azi loves magical creatures almost as much as people, and takes it upon himself to protect them. He thinks they're misunderstood by the village, and knows a lot about them because he likes to spend all his time in the woods. He's a bit of a reckless daredevil but he doesn't like to be in the center of attention. He's very stubborn and will stand up to people who challenge his beliefs. Otherwise, he's pretty sweet and protective of the people he cares about.
Quirks: He likes to play the banjo to annoy people. He's very good at it, and abandoned other less annoying instruments in favor of one that would get people to leave him alone. In general, he's pretty musically talented. Also, he's highly claustrophobic and hates cats.
Flaws: He can act pretty confident and chill on the outside, but he's also hiding a lot of anxiety underneath that. He's kind of insecure, and used to fight people a lot to deny it. He hates admitting that he's wrong, and sometimes his reckless nature puts his friends in danger. Other times, he is relentlessly cheery and won't leave people alone. He's a little up and down, I guess.
Shipping: Boys and girls
Other: His mom died when he was nine, his dad and older siblings all live separately, and he's close to getting kicked out of his house because he doesn't have a lot of money. He's spent a lot of time in and out of the streets and he's been working since he was eleven. He's made his peace with it all, at least on the outside.

Gender: genderless pronouns: they/them/their
Appearence: flexible camo pants, black t-shirt, black lace up boots, abotu 5'6" tall, dirty blonde hair that is usually in a man-bun, honey brown eyes, tan skin, pretty muscly but not buff, they wear brown fingerless gloves, and two swords on her back that can connect to create a double sided sword.
Personality: jugemental, free-minded, great public speaker, sarcastic, believes that they can talk their way out of almost every situation, has a pretty weird moral compass: They will let most people get away with committing a crime but not all people, and they have not had the cleanest track record. They are unpredictable and tends to not stick with plans. Act first think later like they are doing now.
Quirks: They love arguing and bickering whether she is doing it or she is watching others. They have a weird talent of styling and cutting hair, weirdly good at sword fighting and a great public speaker, they have a soft spot for wild magical creatures
Flaws: They have a weird moral compass, no one really trusts them, can be clumsy if they arn't focusing, the act first think later part of them gets them into alot of trouble

Other:Their dad is disappointed in her actions but still loves her, her mother died in childbirth of Macy. She has no other known reltives.
