Forest Role Play
Chatterbox: Inkwell
Forest Role Play
Forest Role Play
In the middle of a huge sea of trees lies a tiny town.
The forest used to be called Silva Vivus Umbrare, which, when translated from the old language, means the Forest of Living Shadows, but the people just called it the Woods. Still, the forest lived up to its old name.
The trees moved during the night, uprooting themselves and gliding across the earth to a new spot. Sometimes the guards on duty at night would catch a glimps of an elk or deer gliding through the trees with a tall, graceful figure on its back. Occasionally, a larger creature slipped past the guards and stole away a cow or pig or goat.
But even with all of the dangers which surrounded them, the people of the town were proud to say that through the half-decade of the existance of the town, they have never lost a person to the woods or to any creature living in the woods.
Until now.
This year, during the Cilana festival, a time in the spring when the people cut down all the trees which have grown at or moved to the edge of the town, three young children disappeared.
Alana, an eight-year-old girl with frizzy red hair and a quick smile, Jakob, a serious five-year-old boy with sunburned skin from too many naps in the open, and Zena, a talkative seven-year-old girl with intense blue eyes. Their disappearence stopped the Cilana festival and threw the town into chaos.
The townspeaple knew that the three would never have gone off into the Woods by themselves, for the fear of the forest was too deep set in everyone, so the townspeople could only think that they had been kindnapped or stolen. Although the townspeaple were frightened and scared and the parents of the children were frantic, only a few people dared to go out into the woods.
You, along with a small group, have decided to venture into the forest to see if the children can still be found. Your bravery has given the town new hope, and the townspeaple have provided you with weapons, tools, and horses. You will leave on the new moon.

Hi everyone!
Here's the character sheet. (One character per person, please.)
Name:
Age: (Around 12-20 years old.)
Gender: (Can we try for an even boy/girl mix?)
Appearence:
Personality:
Quirks:
Flaws:
Shipping:
Other:
I'll post my character once this thread shows up, and I'll start the roleplay on Saturday, July 25.
Other notes: Don't be afraid to move the story forward! Feel free to introduce your favorite kinds of magical creatures, write memorable settings in the forest, and put the charries in danger!
If anyone decides to drop out, which I hope will not happen, consider putting up one last post to take care of your character, whether to have them return to the village or be trapped somewhere or die. (Wow, that was slightly depressing!)
Write you soon!

Ooh! So in.
Name: Jean-Elisabeth, goes by Jeannie or Jeannie ‘Lisabeth if someone is mad at her.
Age: 12
Gender: Female
Appearance: A bob of dark brown hair that glints red in the sun. Dark brown eyes and caramel colored skin. She usually wears several different shades of purple, most often a loose shirt and a long skirt, which she split and sewed, so now it’s more like a jumper, but don’t tell her mama.
Personality: She is a daydreamer, always with her head in the clouds. She is very empathetic, and feels for others. The disappearance has gotten to her, and she feels really worried about them, especially Alana, who was her cousin (is that okay? If not, she was just a good friend.)
Quirks: She can communicate with birds.
Flaws: She gets distracted easily, loses her temper easily, and also talks a lot.
Shipping: Closed, but that may change
Other: Her family runs a stable, so she rides well, and she has a horse who is her constant companion (when possible) named Seafoam.

Is it too late for me to join?
If not:
Name: Leilani Aran
Age: 16
Gender: Female
Appearance: Dark skin and dark red hair, wears lots of color, and has mischevious blue eyes.
Personality: She's very outgoing, because she works with a band of gypsies and is used to performing in front of people. But she also gets mad very easily, and has a hard time reining in her temper.
Quirks: Never seems to get cold.
Flaws: Anger issues, for one. Also blurting out what she thinks, which is sometimes offensive.
Shipping: None, please.
If it is too late to join, please ignore this post. ;)

Nope, it's not too late! Welcome Darkling!
You can continue putting up characters until Saturday, July 25.
(July 18, 2020 - 6:22 pm)
Name: Caston Lark
Age: 18
Gender: Male
Appearance: He has light brown hair that falls in his eyes a lot, and tan skin with some freckles on his face and arms. His eyes are hazel, and he’s shorter than average. He tends to wear neutral-toned tunics and trousers, along with sturdy leather boots for walking. He wears a short dagger at his hip.
Personality: He likes to stay out of the limelight and fly under the radar. He’s not at all confrontational, and prefers to stay quiet, especially around large groups of people. He doesn’t often voice his opinions, and he can come off as stoic and serious- in reality, he’s just shy. He keeps to himself a lot, and he likes the quiet and comfort of the woods.
Quirks: He can identify most magical creatures from their tracks, and he always runs his hands through his hair when he’s thinking.
Flaws: He almost never stands up for himself.
Shipping: Sure! With a guy.
Other: He volunteered to look for the missing kids because he knew them, and he thinks his knowledge of creatures and the woods could be of use.

@Gecko, do you want to ship Caston and Azi?
(July 18, 2020 - 6:15 pm)
Sure, I think that would work well! Especially since they both seem to know a lot about magical creatures, I feel like they could end up bonding over that.
(July 19, 2020 - 5:38 pm)
Would anyone like to ship with Demi?
(July 20, 2020 - 9:14 am)
I'm changing my characters age to 16. Maybe we can ship him with Demi?
(July 20, 2020 - 9:32 am)
Sure! That sounds good!
(July 20, 2020 - 10:36 am)
(July 21, 2020 - 11:41 pm)
I changed the date because I'm bored. We start tomorrow

Hang on. I thought I saw a thread saying you left. Was that an impersonation? Or did I dream it? Well, anyways, I'll have you know that if it was a dream, it wasn't a good one. Also, on the thread it said that anyone posting under the name Hummingbird wouldn't be you. So please clarify. Thanks.
(July 22, 2020 - 3:18 pm)
Hummingbird has been impersonated at least twice before on this thread, thankfully @Admins deleted it, so it's possible!
(July 22, 2020 - 5:35 pm)
Yes, there was an impersonator who tried to make me leave CricketMag by making a post saying that I was leaving CricketMag. Honestly I don't know what they were trying to gain. I'm not sure if they're still around or not, but I think they'll leave me alone now...?
As for the two impersonations on this thread, that turned out to be my friend. I told them to make sure any choices anyone would make on this thread wouldn't result in an argument. I forgot about it, so I was a bit shocked when they came up, and asked the admin to delete them.
I hop this clears things up, and a speacial thanks to the Admins.

@IMPERSONATOR
I was ghosting, and I saw this.
I know that there's no way for me to prove that this is actually me and not this impersonator. So far, the impersonator has imitated me to perfection, which is so frustrating! I'm sorry this whole situation is confusing!
Impersonator, you are not my friend. I think this is the fifth time you've done this to me, and I realize that the thread that said I was leaving wasn't enough. So, here you are.
I am leaving Chatterbox for good, and I am NEVER going to come back or post under this name again. Ever. If you see anyone post under the name of Hummingbird it is an impersonation.
I cannot stress this enough. DO NOT BELIEVE ANYONE WHO CLAIMES TO BE ME! You can almost know that this post was written by me, the real Hummingbird, because if the impersonator was writing this he/she/they wouldn't take away the power that they wield under my name by saying that I'm leaving. I know that probably the impersonator is going to come back and say that this post was actually the impersonation, but don't believe them.
I'm really sorry that this situation is forcing me to leave! I love Chatterbox, and I love all of you, and I think Hummingbird is the perfect name for me, and I really want to stay here. However, it seems that Chatterbox is no longer safe for me!
Thanks everyone for your support! Sorry for the confusion.
For the last time,
~Hummingbird
We am certainly very sorry for this situation. Impersonation spoils what otherwise is a wonderful and convenient method of communication. You will be missed. Please continue to check in from time to time and consider coming back under another name.
