Spontaneous RP!
Sometimes I feel like we get so caught up in the developement and rules of a RP that it dies before we even make it very far (I know that's happened to me...Combat Cliff RPG, Griffinfeather RPG the first...and more).
So, let's just do some writing.
two rules.
1. Put forth your absolute best. Even if it's not going to be published or maybe no one else but me will read it. It's good for your writing. Trust me.
2. Make sure everything lines up! Mostly!! Inserting random flying unicorns is okay, but killing a character off and then making them reappear might be a little confusing.
If you are still confuzzled, check out this thread to see what I mean:
http://www.cricketmagkids.com/chatterbox/inkwell/node/65463
just make up a character and join the story. You can be a character I've mentioned or somebody new. My characters are Pheonix and Carlena.
Without further ado, let us begin.
~
"Carlena scratched at the wall's smooth surface, her heart pounding so loud she could hardly think. The dark rectangle seemed to close in around her, pressing in on all sides; squeezing her lungs flat and yanking away all the oxygen. The air was hot and sizzling with frusteration and fear. Throwing herself against the wall, Carlena melted onto the floor. She was stuck. Enclosed in a horrible crystal box while her own dear sister, Caroll, was set on destroying Jewel Academy. All she could do was sit here, helpless and terrified out of her wits, while Caroll did away with everything she worked towards. Carlena tried to take a calming breath and found she could not breath. The walls were closing in...her eyes whirled crazily around the shadows; searching for an exit. If Cassey doesn't get the children out of the academy in time, they'll all... Carlena let out a frusterated gasp of despiration. Oh come on, Carlena! You can't let a little claustrophobia defeat you, girl! She said to herself. The spunky Galaxy Witch sat up slowly and brushed back the gigantic bush of chalk-white, ankle length hair from her damp forehead. Carlena then—"
"Pheonix! Jaihra's on the phone!" My older sister called from downstairs.
"COMING!" I yelled back, dropping The Charming Adventures of Carlena the Galaxy Witch to the floor. Galexia looks up at me in surprise from her nest of pillows on the floor, her eyes clouded, obviously still deep inside the story.
"But...that's not fair! Nixie!" My little sister moans, "What happens to Carlena? What happens to the seven sisters and the academy?"
"You're just going to have to find out next time!" I say with a wink. Galexia shakes her head furiously, sending her fluffy brown pigtails into a frenzy,
"It's not fair that I don't get to see what happens next because you wanna go talk to your giiiiirlfriend," she says angrily. On the last word, an evil smile begins to curl on her lips. I stop half-way to the door.
"Jaihra is NOT my girlfriend. And we have very important things to talk about," I retort hotly before rushing out of Galexia's frilly, pink bedroom and down the stairs, taking the story book with me. The wood steps creak under my feet as I race down, nearly slipping on the last one.
"Yeah, Jaihra, he's coming," I hear my 21-year-old sister, Andromeda, say, Rounding the corner, I can see her leaning against the counter in a red tank top and shorts, her long brown hair in a messy braid over one shoulder. She has my phone tucked between her hear and shoulder while she casually flips through pages of her sketchbook, twirling a bright blue pencil with her free hand.
"I'm here!" I yell breathlessly in her face.
"Took you long enough," she says, rolling her eyes and handing over the phone, "go take your chatting upstairs. You two 'll talk my ears off. Upstairs!" She commands, pointing her pencil.
"Hi Jaihra!" I greet into the phone.
"Hi Pheonix! Ummm...are you alone??" She asks cautiously, "I have an update on...you know...project Milky Way Sorceress and...uh...the Precious Stone School," she hints not-so-subtly.
"Yeah, just a sec," I answer, dashing back upstairs to my room and bouncing onto my bed.
"Okay! Shoot!" I exclaim, tossing down the story book beside me. It flips open to the title page; which is covered with words I'm glad Galexia can't read yet.
For my nephew, Pheonix. I hope you enjoy my charming adventures!!! Please keep in mind that these are all absolutely true and my heroism was not exagerated in the least. Hope that you can soon join me in Jewel Academy! Once you set out on your journey to find it, that is.

Your Aunt Carlena, the spunky Galaxy Witch
P.S. do not show this to anyone or I may have to incenerate them.
I let the book cover slide closed. Yeah, Galaxia, we do have important things to talk about.

Pheonix~
I stare at the wood-paneled wall of the corridor, tapping rhythms with my shoes. Tap, tap. Tap-tap, tap-tap. Tap, tap, tap-tap, tap-tap, stomp, clap, snap, yeah!
"Pheonix! Cut it out!" Raja snaps. I can't help but tap a couple more times. I mean, how long have Sacra and that new dude, the ummm...ghost dude? Wasn't he dead or something? been in there.
After intense glares from both Raja and Jaihra, I finally stop. After what seems like hooooooooouuuuuuurs, Sacra and the dead dude invite us back in and everyone starts talking again. But I'm not interested in talking. I have been STANDING for THIRTY MINUTES.* Yes, I do want answers, like why Dom left us in the middle of nowhere, how Farlan manages to be dead...and alive? I'm really not sure on this one. I must have missed something.
I need to stretch my legs. And I know, I know, it's immature and dangerous to set off on your own in an underground complex on an unknown planet, but it's a serious UNDERGROUND MANSION! This is like the coolest thing ever. Well, maybe fairyland was cooler. No, piloting the ship definitely was cooler. I inch back down the corridor until I reach a set of dark, stained-wood stairs. Except, they aren't completely dark. There is a spot of light at the landing. Not really light, but a warm glow. A warm, buttery yellow glow. My fingers tingled. I HAD to follow that light. Quickly, I glanced back over my shoulder, but no one was paying attention. A dark doubt coming from some strangely mature corner of my mind warned me to just wait for the others. But I am very good at tuning out my mature side. It's a gift, alright? I dashed down the steps.
Another small corridor at the bottom opened up into a wide room.
"Whoa," I breathed. The room was dimly lit, and the yellow glow came from the center. On one side of the room were seven colored balls on little stands at about waist hight. These formed into a semicircle, which surrounded a huge, floating orb. Facing these on the other side of the wall was a set identical to the first, except the colors were different. While the former set of colored balls were colors like white, black, blue, purple, and yellow, the latter set were dark, earthy colors.
Duh! Galexial magic and Terestrial magic! I realized. The yellow ball was glowing. It seemed like an open invitation. I studied it. I tapped on the glass. I squinted at the deformed reflection of my face it revealed and murmered, "hellllooooo in there." Nothing happened. Finally, I placed my hands, my vessels of magic, around the ball. And I could feel it. Really feel it! Like a rush of energy, moving and pulsating beneath my fingers.
Suddenly, the floating orb in the center came to life. It flashed with images of starry space, flecked with bursts of color. And then, a strong, clear voice, not quite human, that I got the eerie impression that only I could hear, came from the orb.
"Chastice, holder of yellow magic, was the fourth of the Galexial sisters..."
~
Though this would be a cool way to reveal some backstory. Yellow magic has an extra special backstory that I've been looking for a way to introduce. Y'all can use this contraption...thingie...to help y'all in backstories/flashbacks too???
*eh he he if u get the semi-reference I will give you free cupcakes (non-poisoned ones, of course. OR wait, was this the batch I poisoned?)

@Rosebud: Loki reference?? XD
I finally finished this picturing of Galexia! I'm trying to do every character eventually. Any requests?

Sorry this is *checks date* four days late, but Fidelity, that picturing of Galexia is amazing! I love it! And, speaking of Galexia...
~ Galexia ~
I hear a footstep and look to my right, only to see Nixie trying to slip away. I look at Andromeda and the rest--they're all focused on Sacra and the dead kid. Who somehow came back to life. I don't understand it whatsoever; I'll have to ask Andromeda for clarification later. I look back at Nixie, who is going farther and farther away. Slowly, I take a step away from the crew. No one notices. I take a deep breath and slip away as well, following Nixie to wherever he's going.
Nixie walks down a staircase, and I follow him quietly, tip-toeing down. I hope he doesn't realize I'm following him; if he did, he would probably tell me to go back. Or maybe he wouldn't. After all, he is Nixie, not Andromeda. But I decide to play it safe, just in case he decides to act like a responsible big brother for once. I mean, it's not impossible!
Nixie reaches the bottom of the stairs and turns into a room that emits a yellow glow. Quickly, I rush down the remaining part of the stairs, pressing myself against the wall outside of the room. Nixie mutters something, then a louder, clearer, and much stranger voice starts speaking.
"Chastice, holder of yellow magic, was the fourth of the Galexial sisters..."
I peek around the edge of the door but don't see anybody other than Nixie, who has both hands pressed against a strange yellow orb floating in the middle of the room. His hair is standing straight up, like the time he rubbed a balloon in his hair, except this time, it seems to be... glowing? Glowing yellow? I slowly step into the room, staring at my brother. It's only then that I realize the voice is still talking. Not knowing what else to do, I listen in.

Also, top!

Revealing backstories? Interesting idea!
Jai
"Nixie!" Goshdarn it, he's probably in trouble again. I took one last look at Sacra and the rest of the scene, and then dashed after the glow of yellow light coming from the stairwell. I could hear Raja following after me.
"...was the fourth of the Galexial sisters." Raja pressed her hand against the door, and it creaked open hoarsely. Phoenix was watching a yellow orb, transfixed.
"Whoa, look!" Raja's eyes caught onto a green orb. It glowed brightly in response, and she clasped her hands around it. She smiled broadly, and a picture swirled into view inside of the sphere. A young Raja among a field of flowers.
As for me, I was just an average girl in a room full of magic.
I felt a small tap on my shoulder. I turned around, and saw an orb floating behind me. It was multicoloured, and switched from yellow, to purple, to silver, to red. I reached out my hands, and touched the surface...
"Jai! Jai, something's wrong!" I turned around, and Phoenix was there, but he was younger. I looked around. I was in the Starz' house. Why was everything so yellow? "Help!"
"Nixie?" Phoenix was scared. I remember this.
"It's trying to attack me!"
"What?" And then I saw it. I could see the yellow magic inside of him, consuming him, and then Phoenix could control it. The yellow light shot out of his hands, singing Andromeda's curtains.
The scene switched again, and now I was in the middle of a park.
"After that girl!" A group of officials streaked after a girl with ebony black hair, and raven wings.
"Andy, why are they attacking her?" Phoenix asked, straining to watch the girl. Andromeda pulled us in protectively, turning us away from the scene.
"The officials are bad bad people, and they are hurt good people who can help who they are."
"What is she?"
"People will say she's a witch, but you can't believe them, ok? No matter what they say, remember that people like her are good." I took one last look in the direction of the girl, and I could see she was shining. As she flew away, I couldn't help but to wish I could be like her.
Now I was standing in a dark room. I could here a sound, circling me, and a voice echoed through the room.
"Ah Jaihra, I gave you the gift of Sight. Use it well."
I haven't decided who the voice is quite yet.

@Ty if you see this, I know you're a theatre fan, and I was wondering if you're going to see Hamilton (if you like it). Guess who is leaving Cali the week before Hamilton opens! (And forgot to buy tickets when they were super discounted.)
@Cassandra, glad you liked the picturing!
