Spontaneous RP!
Spontaneous RP!
Sometimes I feel like we get so caught up in the developement and rules of a RP that it dies before we even make it very far (I know that's happened to me...Combat Cliff RPG, Griffinfeather RPG the first...and more).
So, let's just do some writing.
two rules.
1. Put forth your absolute best. Even if it's not going to be published or maybe no one else but me will read it. It's good for your writing. Trust me.
2. Make sure everything lines up! Mostly!! Inserting random flying unicorns is okay, but killing a character off and then making them reappear might be a little confusing.
If you are still confuzzled, check out this thread to see what I mean:
http://www.cricketmagkids.com/chatterbox/inkwell/node/65463
just make up a character and join the story. You can be a character I've mentioned or somebody new. My characters are Pheonix and Carlena.
Without further ado, let us begin.
~
"Carlena scratched at the wall's smooth surface, her heart pounding so loud she could hardly think. The dark rectangle seemed to close in around her, pressing in on all sides; squeezing her lungs flat and yanking away all the oxygen. The air was hot and sizzling with frusteration and fear. Throwing herself against the wall, Carlena melted onto the floor. She was stuck. Enclosed in a horrible crystal box while her own dear sister, Caroll, was set on destroying Jewel Academy. All she could do was sit here, helpless and terrified out of her wits, while Caroll did away with everything she worked towards. Carlena tried to take a calming breath and found she could not breath. The walls were closing in...her eyes whirled crazily around the shadows; searching for an exit. If Cassey doesn't get the children out of the academy in time, they'll all... Carlena let out a frusterated gasp of despiration. Oh come on, Carlena! You can't let a little claustrophobia defeat you, girl! She said to herself. The spunky Galaxy Witch sat up slowly and brushed back the gigantic bush of chalk-white, ankle length hair from her damp forehead. Carlena then—"
"Pheonix! Jaihra's on the phone!" My older sister called from downstairs.
"COMING!" I yelled back, dropping The Charming Adventures of Carlena the Galaxy Witch to the floor. Galexia looks up at me in surprise from her nest of pillows on the floor, her eyes clouded, obviously still deep inside the story.
"But...that's not fair! Nixie!" My little sister moans, "What happens to Carlena? What happens to the seven sisters and the academy?"
"You're just going to have to find out next time!" I say with a wink. Galexia shakes her head furiously, sending her fluffy brown pigtails into a frenzy,
"It's not fair that I don't get to see what happens next because you wanna go talk to your giiiiirlfriend," she says angrily. On the last word, an evil smile begins to curl on her lips. I stop half-way to the door.
"Jaihra is NOT my girlfriend. And we have very important things to talk about," I retort hotly before rushing out of Galexia's frilly, pink bedroom and down the stairs, taking the story book with me. The wood steps creak under my feet as I race down, nearly slipping on the last one.
"Yeah, Jaihra, he's coming," I hear my 21-year-old sister, Andromeda, say, Rounding the corner, I can see her leaning against the counter in a red tank top and shorts, her long brown hair in a messy braid over one shoulder. She has my phone tucked between her hear and shoulder while she casually flips through pages of her sketchbook, twirling a bright blue pencil with her free hand.
"I'm here!" I yell breathlessly in her face.
"Took you long enough," she says, rolling her eyes and handing over the phone, "go take your chatting upstairs. You two 'll talk my ears off. Upstairs!" She commands, pointing her pencil.
"Hi Jaihra!" I greet into the phone.
"Hi Pheonix! Ummm...are you alone??" She asks cautiously, "I have an update on...you know...project Milky Way Sorceress and...uh...the Precious Stone School," she hints not-so-subtly.
"Yeah, just a sec," I answer, dashing back upstairs to my room and bouncing onto my bed.
"Okay! Shoot!" I exclaim, tossing down the story book beside me. It flips open to the title page; which is covered with words I'm glad Galexia can't read yet.
For my nephew, Pheonix. I hope you enjoy my charming adventures!!! Please keep in mind that these are all absolutely true and my heroism was not exagerated in the least. Hope that you can soon join me in Jewel Academy! Once you set out on your journey to find it, that is.

Your Aunt Carlena, the spunky Galaxy Witch
P.S. do not show this to anyone or I may have to incenerate them.
I let the book cover slide closed. Yeah, Galaxia, we do have important things to talk about.

Hi guys, it's me, GP!
Long time no see!
So you guys are planning Caroll and the gold mettalic witch to attack them (the gang), I'm just wondering how and why they will do that because I have a perfect resolution! Winn and Lennon could possibly come back and save them; maybe Caroll is Lennon's Mom? I know just how to write it if you would answer my questions, guys!

Hi, welcome back! Maybe some background on Winn and Lennon would be helpful first? Then we could fit them in better.

Here is some basic info of Winn and Lennon:
Winn 16
Fairy land guard
Lennon 16
Purple magic
On a side note, my grandmother runs a publishing company and I think it would be so cool to have this RP as a book.
To Rose Bud, we will miss you on the CB. I will always think of you while role-playing.
(October 23, 2018 - 3:10 pm)
Good to see you Glam! I really don't have a plan, but we can keep writing and going with the flow. Although the whole thing with Carol having kids may be a good plot twist, just so you know, you don't need a parent as a magical sister to have powers, aaaand it would be like pretty rare.
Okay, I know I've said this a thousand times, but I'm really sorry for not posting (eeeeekkk) and I will try to get to it this week. I put a lot of thought into my posts and they usually turn out long and time consuming. Not that I mind, I just haven't had a lot of time lately.
Which brings me to another point.
*Spoiler Alert*
I'm leaving the CB.
Actually, I've already left. And don't worry, there's no big, dramatic reason and I love y'all too much to leave over any sort of petty disagreement. I really have loved being a part of this place. I haven't posted on another thread except this one for probably a month now, and I didn't make a big deal or post a thread because I didn't really want to do that, and plus I've kind of faded out of everything now. Although I might do that sometime later. I haven't decided yet. This December will mark my fourth year of being a CBer and honestly, it's been quite the fantastic ride. This makes me really sad, but I've kind of grown up, and I guess you need to move on at some point. I just wanted to let y'all know since this is the only thing I'm really a part of now. I'm going to try to stick it out to the end of this RPG though! It'll be a great way to go out with a bang!!
Alrighty leaving spiel over!
I promise cross my heart and hope to die stick a cupcake in my eye that I WILL POST SOON.
Please come back for the CB reunion on February 14, 2019.

Sacra~
The gaping mouth of the shadowy depths makes me uncertain, but we all want to get away from this wretched sand. Andromeda signals with her hands to move in slowly and quietly. We oblige. Slowly, we all proceed into the darkness. A creakin noise. Sapphira's brow furrows, and I turn, arms held out.
"No!" Too late. With a slam, the entrance is sealed. Phoenix breathe in through his teeth.
"Only forward, then." Jai states, her voice quivering. Galexia whimpers in the darkness.
"Andromeda...?" Blue light fills the stairway at the top of which we are. I can see Andromeda's face in the dim glow. She gathers Galexia up in her arms, hands still glowing. I let my hands light up with my silver magic. I nearly miss it, but I think a gasp echos off the rock around us. Masculine, about my age (maybe a bit older), and definitely emotional.
"Hey Jai, do you sense anybody else here?" I ask, and Jaihra puts her hands on her hips.
"It doesn't work that - wait. Yes, I do." Jai's eyes widen in panic. "Sacra, they're right behind you!!" She flies towards me right as an arm snakes around my ribs and clutches me tightly, raisin me off of the ground. Before I know it, I can't see the others, and my attacker has put me down extremely gently on some sort of soft surface. I lay there, completely horizontal. No use on struggling anyways, they're probably right above me. Then I hear the sound of soft crying, and white fires start up in tall, thin lamps all around the room. In the growin light I can see books. Lots and lots of books, and an older teenaged boy with iron-black hair. His pale skin makes him look almost gaunt in the pale beams, but his face is remarkably handsome. Tears stream down his face.
"Sacra..." He whispers. "It's me... Farlan."
~~
Is it okay that I tweaked his name a bit...? If it's not then just say so, Cassandra. :)
Wow this thread has been so inactive lately that I feel almost distant from the characters... I don't like it.
(October 25, 2018 - 1:54 am)
We were trapped then Scara just... vanishes. Perfect, just great. I walk over to where the door used to be and tap on the surface. The sand doesn't even move a grain. I pull a feather from my wing and hold it up, muttering an ancient spell as I do, the feather twirls up and starts to drift to the east tunnel, I make to follow it when Pheonix grabs my arm. "Where are you going? We need to find Scara!"
Suddenly the sand shifts and we are in a room with bookshelves on the walls with lamps, and in the middle of it all Scara is hugging an older teenaged boy with iron-black hair and pale skin, he's quite handsome and I feel the tips of my ears heat up, thank Lolth that my hair takes attention away from my face.

Ehhhhhh short and confusing but I'm not that involved in this anyway, I'll try harder I promise!

Ooh, maybe we should do a love angle!! Wait @Darkking who is your charrie? Urg I've lost track of them all. XP
(October 25, 2018 - 7:07 pm)
That's totally fine, Rogue! Farlan sounds better anyways... ;)
~ Farlan ~
I walk along the shelves of files of humans, brushing my fingers lightly against the tightly bound spines. The names, printed in big, bold, block letters, stand out even in the dimly lit room. Everything is also in technology form, but it brings comfort to know that I have the physical files at my fingertips.
Suddenly, the ground beneath me shakes. I jump in alarm and look around. After a few seconds, the shaking stops. Cautiously, I walk over to the observatory, where pictures of places all around the Library are displayed. I check the Ancient section first... no people. Where else? I look around the room, scanning over the panels to check for the prescence of other living beings. I hear steps behind me and whirl around. When I see the wolf-dog, I smile in relief.
"Come here, Wolf!" I beckon to him with open arms.
He bounds over, wagging his tail, and leaps into my arms, licking my face. I smile, but the smile freezes on my face when I catch sight of one panel, low to the floor. Gently, I push him away, muttering, "Not now, buddy," as I move over to the panel of the back entrance, one that opens into the very center of the Desert of Sand that spreads over most of this planet, a barren place that, in all of my time at the Library, no one has ever gone. I furrow my brow, looking at the rag-tag band of adventurers in the darkness. Suddenly, a blue light shoots out from one of them, dimly lighting the room. I gasp in recognition. Blue magic. Galexial magic. A little girl whimpers and jumps into the blue-magic-girl's arms. Then, another color joins the blue.
Silver. The magic swirls around one of the girls, lighting the room even more. When I see who it is, I gasp again, my hands flying over my mouth. My eyes turn the color of iron as a memory comes shooting back. A memory of a battlefield, the war of metallic magic, the magic that was obliterated long ago. Almost as if I were there, I see the Guardians, the fighting starting to subside. The Silver Sister battles the Gold Sister, their twin blades flashing across my vision. A strand of silvery hair comes loose from Sacra's braid, falling across her face. I look at her determined, steely eyes, so focused on Alethea, and Alethea only. I turn away for a second to draw my sword, whacking an arrow aimed my way away. Suddenly, a blade hits me from behind. With a gasp, I fall, turning around to see Alethea wielding her blades with a sly smile. The gold twists in her hand, almost as if it had liquified for a moment, then plunged down at the speed of light... I try to block her, but she's too quick for me, dodging my blade and plunging her swords into me. With a lighthearted laugh, she twists them and extracts them. Gold magic swirls around them, cleaning off the blood--my blood. I look at Sacra, standing behind her, and her horrified expression.
"Farlan..." she whispers, her voice faltering, "Farlan, no!"
I fall back as she rushes forward towards me, kneeling beside me. Her eyes are wide, and silver tears slide down her cheeks, "Farlan..."
Alethea lets out another ringing laugh, taking a sword and perching it under Sacra's chin. She forces Sacra to look up. As the world disappears around me, I see Sacra stand up, her eyes steely and determined once again, and pick up her swords.
"You. Will. Pay." Her silver blades flash, and the last thing I see before I fall away is silver and gold flashing above me, interlocking and interweaving as the two Sisters fought.
I blink, standing still for a moment in shock. What was that? Sacra? Alethea? Weren't they two of the Metallic Sisters? I shake my head, trying to clear my mind of the sudden memory, so vivid and clear. It was as if I had been there. But... I hadn't... had I? My earliest memory is of the Library, reading in the Library, catalogueing and archiving books and files and everything... was there something before that?
I turn back towards the panel, staring back at the silver-magic girl. Sacra. It must be her... I stumble over to a lever, moving my fingers over the controls until I reach the right one, pulling it. Immediately, ropes fall down behind her, pulling her up. She cries out, and I wince at the sound, manuevering the ropes to take her to a small chamber in the Library. I step onto a platform and, just before it whirls me there as well, I pull another lever, sending the rest of them towards the chamber. I didn't know who they were, but I didn't want them to feel lost. Plus, I'm kind of curious. What is the Silver Sister doing with a bunch of rogue Galexials?
The platform takes me to the room, and I step in. The ropes release Sacra, and she stares up at me, her eyes penetrating into me. I gasp as I see her in person, my eyes pooling with tears as more memories zoom into my mind. They trickle down my cheeks as the force of my past hits me... and I realize who I am.
With a gasp, I whisper, "Sacra... It's me. Farlan."
