~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
A figure stood at the base of the mountain, his brown cloak blowing in the wind. The creases on his face showed signs of aging, but the man was still very strong. His brow sat low above his eyes, and he seemed as if he was watching something on the mountain very closely.
Then the man began to climb. It wasn't long until the man reached the peak of the mountain. He drew something out of his cloak, thrusting it into the air. Seven pieces of paper fluttered in the wind, drifting down, heading for the village below.
..
Èolith trudged along the cobblestone path leading through the village. She pulled her coat tighter around her body as the snow began to fall. Suddenly, she noticed something blow by her face. Èolith snatched the piece of parchment from the chilly air.
Child,
The north is calling. We must arise once again. The strong. The fearless. The warriors. The hunters and the huntresses. The seekers. The wanderers. The ones who will make up our small party. Come, join us. Find your journey. Come to the top of Fuar Peak. Gather with us. We will be strong once again.
Arlerac, Huntsman of the North.
Èolith gasped. There was a small symbol beside the signature. The mark of the Dragon Hunters. She could only imagine what this meant.
Many years ago, the legendary Dragon Hunters had braved the snowy mountains of north Daklur. Some thought that while up there, the hunters and huntresses fought and stayed dragons, protecting the village below. Others claimed that these men and women tamed the dragons, creating an alliance. Only a true Dragon Hunter knew. These people were both admired and feared. And becoming one was only for the strong willed and not for the weak of heart. A few years ago, however, the Dragon Hunters were banned from the village, and one by one, they began to disappear, until they became just a myth. When the Dragon Hunters were gone, the dragons began to slowly close in on the village, expanding their territory farther and farther down the mountains, until it wasn't even safe to be beyond the forest at the base of Fuar Peak after sundown.
However, there was once a prophecy that a time like this would come. And it was only the rise of a bigger evil. It was said that seven would be chosen. Seven children. They would be the next generation of Dragon Hunters.
Èolith had always loved hearing legends and stories of the Dragon Hunters. She had dreamed of becoming one herself. So when she read this piece of paper, there was no question that she would go to Fuar Peak. Èolith ran all the way home, forgetting about the cold, her head filled with wonderings about what the other six would be like.
If you've read this far, great job! As you probably guessed, this is an RP. I hope that the snippets I posted were self explanatory.
-Be kind and respectful, always (this one is kinda obvious).
-No OP charries.
-I will accept 7-10 charries, that's it. Six of these will be the next generation of Dragon Hunters and Huntresses, and I'll allow some older dragon hunters such as Arlerac. I'm going to start with a one charrie per person limit, but if not enough people join, then maybe I'll allow extras.
-Try and develop your charries. Really try. If you write a one sentence personality, I might not accept your charrie.
I'll post Èolith's when this pops up. We'll start when enough people join.
Yes, we'll start later today. I'll post the first RPing post, and everybody else can jump in from there.
(August 30, 2017 - 11:52 am)
Great!
AAAAAH I AM SOOO SORRY! Here is my charrie sheet. I haven't added much to it because I like developing the charrie as I write it. I hope that's okay...
Name: Aaren
Age: 15
Gender: male
Appearance: Tall, dirty blonde hair, mismatched blue and green eyes, scar across left cheek
Personality: a bit of a troublemaker, but tries to do his best
Strengths: extremely smart
Weaknesses: has a tendency to not take things seriously
Background: Mother was a warrior, and he grew up hearing stories about her. (She died when he was 2)
Password: don't quite understand this...
Other: Anyone want to ship with him?
(August 31, 2017 - 3:16 am)
@Nebula, Completely fine! You posted just in time to start, too! And do you want to ship our charries?
I just realized I never posted my charrie! I'm sorry, I can't post her sheet right now because I'd have to copy-paste from my iPad and I'm using a different iPad right now because my Safari disappeared this morning. D: Anyway, sorry I couldn't do the first post yesterday!
Also, I think I did my math wrong earlier. XD There are either nine or ten children, I'm not sure. But there are definitely not seven. XD I don't know what I was thinking.
~Eòlith
It's dusk. The sky reminds me of the dark ashes in our fireplace just before the embers go out completely. My family won't notice that I'm gone until morning. They're so busy the inn these days it's like I'm invisible. I take the back path so no one in the village will see me and aks questions. I pull my thin cloak around my shoulders, starting to shiver. I had forgotten how much colder it gets at night just below the peaks. I can now see my breath, even in the dim light.
It isn't long until I reach the forest at the base of the mountains. The sun has set completely now, and I notice how dark it is all of a sudden. I look up, searching for the moon, but all I get is starlight. It isn't until now that I realize what day this is. It's the night of Dark Moon. One day every four years when the dragon hunters from all over the land used to gather at midnight. I suddenly feel a rush of pride mixed with fear as I realize what I've been invited to. My train of thought grinds to a halt as I reach the base of the mountain. I look up, gaping. It's--so tall. And steep.
I take a deep breath. I can do this. Whoever sent me the slip of paper believe I could do this. Or maybe it was a test. Either way, it was something I had to do. I walk around the rocky base, searching for a low enough foothold to start climbing. I finally see a good sized outcropping and use it to push myself up.
The climbing is pretty smooth at first. And then the rocks get smaller and looser. And with every step, my fingers get colder. After what seems like an eternity, I'm halfway up the cliffside. I will myself not to look down. My fingers are numb now. My teeth are chattering. But somehow I make myself climb further. I wonder how much longer I can hold on. Then I notice a fairly large outcropping in the rock just above me. When I look closer, I can see a few figures milling about in the cave. I go to haul myself onto the ledge, but the stone is incredibly slick, and my fingers can't find hold. On instinct I act my other hand up, and lose my grip. And suddenly I'm falling.
I close my eyes, bracing myself to hit the ground. I promise myself I won't scream. I will die with dignity.
And then I feel two hands close around my wrists.
~~~~~~~~~
A literal cliff hanger! I don't have anyone in mind to be the person who saved Eòlith, so it can be anyone's charrie that got there earlier than Eòlith, or it can be a dragon hunter who was already there, waiting, or it can be Arlerac, the NPC dragon hunter.
(August 31, 2017 - 10:07 am)
Làreya can be the one that saves her. Sorry, no time to write now.
(August 31, 2017 - 11:32 am)
Here's my charrie (finally)!
Name: Èolith (pronounced AY-uh-lith) Carogon
Age: 14
Gender: F
Appearance: Èolith has long, wild, white-blonde hair with streaks of red mixed in, which she usually has up in a braid or ponytail. She has her mother's startling blue-grey eyes, and a pale complexion. She has a slender frame, perfect for running and climbing, which she does often.
Personality: Èolith is tough, and she hates looking weak, or when people underestimate her because she's a girl. She's proud, and unafraid to stand up for herself. She's a but distrusting of strangers, but doesn't have a problem talking to people. She is extremely loyal to those she loves, to the point of death. Èolith is extremely stubborn, and can argue for days. She's a bit of a tomboy, but doesn't mind wearing a dress on occasion, as long as she isn't planning on running around.
Strengths: Èolith has fast reflexes, is agile, and can scale a wall in seconds. She can conceal her emotions surprisingly well, and is tougher than she looks.
Weaknesses: She isn't extremely experienced with a weapon, and will push herself past her limit to show she can do something. She has an awful temper, and will quickly flare up at someone and say things she will later regret.
Background: Èolith was raised a regular village girl. When she was younger, she would sneak into the main room of her parents' tavern just to hear the stories of the Dragon Hunters. Èolith had spent her life dreaming of the myths and legends she hoped were real. What Èolith doesn't know is that her mother was a Dragon Hunter herself, along with her grandfather (who just happens to be the chieftain of them). The same evening she received the note, Èolith slipped away, leaving her family no explanation.
Password: Dragontooth!
Other: I'd like to ship her with someone, maybe Aaren?

@Leeli, would it be okay if I make Sora be 18? I am not good at RPing people any older than that. If it's not okay to make her 18, I'll do a hunter in training instead.
(August 31, 2017 - 3:36 pm)
@Leeli, I was thinking there could be maybe an in between stage for Dragon hunters where they are finished with their training, but they're kind of still novice dragon hunters and not quite at the same status as the older ones, and Sora could kind of be in that stage.
(August 31, 2017 - 3:47 pm)
Sure, she can be eighteen! What if Sora traveled up to where the Dragon Hunters base as a kid and she wanted to join them. They wouldn't allow a random child to join them, but she proved herself so skilled that they made an exception? Or we could do what you had mentioned. Either one. Maybe she could even be the daughter of one of the older Dragon Hunters.

Aaren-
I lunge forward and grab Eoliths wrists just as she starts to plummet. Grimacing, I pull her up and we both flop down in the hard rocks a safe distance away.
"Hey Eo," I grin. "Fancy seeing you here."
She grins back sheepishly and pulls herself to her feet. "You got the letter too?"
I nod and she smiles. "Figures." I say, "our mom's were both hunters, we were probably both at the top of the list."
Eolith chuckled, "thanks for the help, shall we meet these other hunters?"
(Also, I would love to ship them! I kinda started on the idea that they were old childhood friends. That okay with you?)
(August 31, 2017 - 7:33 pm)
Yeah, I love it! I'm loving this ship already. I'll have to post my next RP tomorrow though, it's past my bedtime. ;)
(August 31, 2017 - 8:36 pm)
The names of our charries are similar in my eyes, lol. I don't know why, but when I see them, I think they seem similar. Can our charries possibly be cousins of some sort?
(August 31, 2017 - 10:25 pm)
Yeah, same! Sure! Maybe they don't know they're cousins until later...?
(September 1, 2017 - 8:56 am)
Yeah! Could they have been friends since they were tiny because their families are so close but they never realised they were related? And I'll post soon. ^^

~Ever~
My real name is Evergreen, but I am usually called Ever and I am climbing up the tallest, steepest moutain i'v ever seen. I wonder if this is just a condinetal that the person that sent me a letter has me, and others? climbing up a moutain or it's a test?
The climbings pretty easy. I'v been a climber all my life, until I broke my arm and I don't really climb that much anymore, but i still have the exprinence. It getts harder as I get closer to the top. I have to jump from rock to rock. There pretty tiny.
Once I slip, but I catch myself before I fall over the rock. I wonder how many have tried to climb this moutain and were killed. I wonder if there are others, probably the son of a hunter, or a duaghter around.
"Any one around!?" I yell.
Silence. I keep walking\jumping. "Anyone around?" I call again.
