The word Eldritch means ghostly or sinister. I mean Eldritch Knowledge as knowledge of unearthly creatures.

Chapter One

Keira walked out of the airport to see a man. He was very tall, and very odd. He wore a raincoat and slacks, but that did not hide the brilliant blue eyes that seemed to know things that nobody else should.
The man walked up to Keira.

“Hello,” He said. “My name is Mr. West.”

“And I am Keira.” Keira replied.

West looked at the leather-bound book Keira held.

“Eh,” He said. “You have an abridged Necrinomicon. Where did you get it?”

“I stole it.”

“From…”

“Cthulhu Cult in, let me see, Dunwich. Also, what is your first name?”

“Herbert. My name is Herbert West”

Herbert West lead Keira to a small, compact car. He threw off his coat and took Keira’s bags and books in the trunk.

“So, we have to go pick up the crew, then we can go to my house and get to work.” Herbert said as the car inched through traffic.

Chapter Two

Several new people entered the car: a person in a cloak, a tall girl with piercing green eyes, a girl with shortish honey brown hair, and an unusually pale girl.

The full car speed to a apartment building. It began to rain as everyone followed West to his penthouse.

Paper was everywhere. The walls were covered with shelves, and the shelves were covered with books, papers, and strange trinkets. Keira looked apprehensively from drawings of Shoggoths to broken staffs.

West removed a small green gem from his pocket.

Illaq looked at the shattered top of a staff. It was made of a silver metal, and was curved and pointed. She grabbed the staff, and removed the splintered wood, and pushed it on top of her own staff.

Daisy and September began talking.

In a minute, Herbert called for silence.

“Please be quiet.” He began. “My name is Herbert West. I am a necromancer.”

Everyone else looked nervous.

“But,” He continued. “I wish only knowledge. I have learned from beyond the grave that Old Ones are plotting against humans. Earth is in danger. The zombies I create mutter only of the Old Ones. A strange mutant octopus, known as a Cthulhi by those with eldritch knowledge, was found in the ocean. That is why I need you. All of you have knowledge of the Old Ones. We must destroy the Old Ones before they destroy us. Who is in?”

Chapter Three

Everyone worked through the entire night. Translating, storing, brainstorming. Later, West made another announcement.

“How did everyone get here?” He asked.

There was a babble of voices.

“Shhhh! I know everyone here is under 18, so how did you get past you parents?” He continued.

“My mom is dead.” Keira replied.

“I ran away.” September replied.

“I am an orphan.” Daisy replied.

“And I live down the street.” Illaq replied.

And everyone got back to work.

Chapter Four

The next morning, everyone was ready for what was ready for fighting Old Ones.

But West told them they were going to the hospital.

When they arrived, they were lead to an operating theatre of sorts, with white and blue clad scientists everywhere.

They were examining a thing.

The thing was about 6 feet long, and was dark grey. Hideous grey plant-like growth covered the top.

West looked at it.

And asked: “I am a doctor of humans. I am, to a degree, a famous epidemiologist. Why are you showing me a hoax!”

Sir,” A woman said. “This is a human.”

West looked. He took samples to a microscope. Finally, he came to a conclusion.

“I will be examining this tomorrow. I advice all examiners wear hazmat suits and air filters. Quarantine the area.”

And they left.

Chapter Five

“How did it get here?” Illaq asked West.

“I have no idea. I thought it was only in New England.” West replied.

The car zoomed along the road.

Then something hit it. The thing that hit the car was a small green crouching thing, with an octopus head and dragon wings.

“A Cthulhi.” September correctly identified.

Everyone got out, and prepared to fight. Then, a boy with dark blue hair ran out of nowhere and destroyed the Cthulhi with a spell.

West and Keira groaned inwardly as the mystery boy smiled and too-perfect smile at Daisy.

Keira barely contained a laugh as Daisy looked at the newcomer with a “my hero” look.

“You.” West grumbled. “What is your name?”

“My name is Stan.” The mystery person replied.

“Get into the car.” West replied.

Chapter Six

The car pulled up at a cafe. It was about 11:30, and the sun was shining brilliantly.

Daisy had been talking to Stan for the entire car ride, and everyone else was ignoring them. West had tried to keep a conversation going about something other than pop music, which Stan, unfortunately for Keira, Illaq, and West, liked just as much as Daisy did.

Keira, Illaq, and West all seemed to share a love for hunting down the monsters, which was everyone's goal, and they found it hard to listen to two people talk about pop music while stuck in Seattle traffic.

Everyone crawled out of the car and walked to the door. A waiter asked them: “You membership?” as soon as they walked in.

West held up a card, and the waiter lead the party to a table. Everyone sat down as West set his briefcase on the table.

“Ok,” He said. “This is called Club Nighthunter. It is a meetingplace for hunters of the eldritch and unusual.”

And they got to work looking for monsters that could be lurking in the city.
