Marked RP!
This is my first RP, so please let it live!!!
This is based off of a book that I'm writing. Basically, in a land far far away.... some people have a mark on their wrist that gives them the power over 1 of the elements. (fire, water, light, wind, ice, earth, and darkness.) Multiple people can have the same Mark. Those who are Marked are considered outlaws, and are hunted by a group known creatively as .... The Hunt!
A little more on Marks...
Before someone gets a Mark, they will begin to have vivid dreams about their element. When they wake up one day, they will feel a burning sensation on their wrist, and the Mark will appear. It cannot disappear, and is easy to hide.
~
So anyways, you can be one of the following:
Darkness Mark ( can control shadows) : 1 person only
Fire Mark ( can control fire) : 2 people
Water Mark ( can control water): 2 people
Light Mark ( can control lightning): 2 people
Wind Mark( can control wind ): 2 people
Ice Mark( can control ice/snow): 2 people
Earth Mark( can control plants): 2 people
Hunters: 3 people
Other( villagers, etc) 4 people
So, a total of 20 people can join!
~

I HAD AN IDEA!!!!!!
So what if.... The Hunt doesn't kill Marked?!?! What if like, either the head of the Hunt or the king or SOMEBODY has some big evil plan that needs s/he needs the Marked to fuel? And the Hunt is sent to capture them and take them to be 'executed,' but really take them to this secret underground basey thing?!? My idea is that (at least our section of) the Hunt doesn't know about the evil plan, but maybe after capturing (preferably) all of us, they find out and their common sense and consciousnesses kick in and they help us escape. Huh? Huh? What do ya think????
Also, could Jayden possibly get a Mark??? I know it's a bit late, but maybe an Earth one???

XD
I actually thought about that, but didn't pursue the idea! The whole fuel thingy, that is. And if Jayden can have a mark, can it please happen during the RP?

Windy~
I remember that day very clearly. The day that I got my mark. I barely remember the time before that, the time that I had a family, friends, people who loved me. Now, I'm living alone, in a little bed of wind on top of a tree.
I was painting a picture of a tree (it was very bad), while sitting on the ground in a park. I was only four. Suddenly, a giant gust of wind came my way. I couldn't breathe. I started gasping for air, but the wind harshly blowing me around didn't help at all with that. My lungs couldn't stand it any more; so I fainted.
I woke up with a mark on my wrist, pressing like the wind did before.
"She has a mark!" my sister Tora said.
"Get away from here!" my dad said.
I ran away, and never came back.
I wanted to get away, before The Hunt tried to kill me. I started flying-more like floating-into the sky. I landed on a tree, and I was covered with gentle wind that became my bed. I was hungry, so I scouroged for berries to eat. I thought that I was safe. And maybe I was.

I'm writing this in third person past tense. If anyone has a problem with that, tell me.
Andra~
"Say goodbye, Annie!" her mother said with a sad smile on her face. In one arm she held a newborn baby boy, and with the other, she waved at the long, white boat that was heading out to sea. Andra was only two then, but she knew that she might not see her father again for a long, long time. "Bye-bye," she babbled, holding on tightly to her mother, who had tears running down her face. "Come back soon, Papa,"
~~~~~
Andra walked along the beach, her hands in the pockets of a simple, pale green dress. Tiny seashells dug into the bottoms of her bare feet, but she didn't mind. She walked down this beach every day. Someone had to collect their food, after all.
"Hello, little guy," she said to a crab that had gotten stuck in one of her traps overnight. Unhooking him from the wires and banding his claws, she put him in her bucket and continued down the shore. After she had emptied all of her traps, she waded into the water to cool off. The sun bored down on her, and even thought it was still early in the morning, she had begun to work up a sweat. The water was so refreshing. She floated back to the shore, and before she knew it, she was sprawled out on the sand, fast asleep.
Andra awoke to the pitter-patter of raindrops falling down onto her face. The sky was dark when she looked up, and a very strong wind blew her dyed-pink hair into her face. Lightning struck the water in the distance. Quickly, she backed up far out of reach of the tide, and when she tried to get up, the winds almost knocked her over. A huge storm was coming. She had to get home, fast.
The rain fell down in torrents, soaking her to the bone. Teeth chattering, feet barely moving against the pounding wind, she trudged closer and closer to her home. Almost... there... She collapsed on her knees. A tree fell to the ground in front of her, blocking her path, as the beach was so narrow. The only way to get around it would be to go in the water. And she couldn't stay out in the open.
Andra had only taken about four steps into the water when the current started tugging her out to sea. She screamed and flailed, but it was no use. The shore was getting farther and farther away. Then, a wave swept over her head, and she blacked out.
~~~~~~~
"Ugh," Andra groaned as she opened her eyes. She was lying on the beach, her clothes still damp, a piece of seaweed stuck on her face. Peeling it off and looking around, she noticed a group of people running towards her. One of them looked like her mother. "Help," she croaked, then tried to sit up. The last thing she noticed before she passed out again was a bluish-green mark on her left wrist.
"Annie! Annie, my girl, wake up!" her mother sobbed, kissing her head. "Tell me you're all right. Tell me you're okay!"
"Mom," she groaned. "I'm fine. it's just... my wrist-" Her mother and the other adults there all gasped when Andra turned her wrist around. "She- she's marked," one man said.
"No!" her mother cried, tears streaming down her face as an old woman dragged her away from Andra. "You can't take her away from me! You can't!"
"Mom," she said in disbelief. Steeling her gaze, she glared at the man, who had offered her a hand. "Tell me what's going on. Now!"
"You're marked. The hunters will come for you. The hunters will kill all of us! Get out of here, or we'll kill you ourselves."
Andra picked herself up, backing away slowly. Then, with on last glance at the broken figure of her mother, she sprinted off into the thick cover of the nearby woods.
"I'll come back, Mom," she said to herself. "I promise."

/-Jayden-\
"A Shadow Mark!" Jayden exclaimed. Silva threw a dirty look his way, which conveyed her message perfectly fine: Duh. Jayden narrowed his eyes and stuck out his tongue. He would play the idiot a while longer. It made the Marked feel safer sometimes.
"Fine." Jayden sighed dramatically. "I'll go up the tree." Of course, by the time he got there, there was nothing to find. "See? I told you so."
"Well, that Marked certainly would have been there, had you gone up the tree, WHEN I ASKED." Silva retorted. "We have to go back in three days Jayden, we need to have at least two Marked!"
"I know that," he said, hopping down from his perch in the tree. "And we'll get some. It's just annoying to have to keep them for too long. They get all whiny and nervous."
"And you wouldn't?" Silva asked speculatively. "C'mon. We need to get the dogs back to camp."
---------------
Jayden sat by the fire, petting his dog in the flickering light. He had taken Raydon on as a challenge: Turn the runt of a litter into a good tracking dog, and it had paid off well. Now, Jaydenhad one of the most skilled dogs in the entire legion of Hunters. Silva sat across from him, whittling something with one of his knives.
"Hey Silva," Jayden began. "That Shadow Mark today, who do you think it was?"
"What do you mean? It's just another Marked."
"I know but... What if it had been Daeris? If we had caught her-"
"Why do you think Daeris is Marked?" Silva snapped, glancing up at him sharply.
"What else would make her leave? And did you ever hear her talk in her sleep?"
"About what?" she asked skeptically.
"Shadows. Shadows attacking the two of us, dragging us away. She was always really upset in the mornings, remember?"
To this, Silva had no answer.
@Cho, yeah, that was my plan. Like, Jayden and Silva at least find out about the evil plan, and then they help the Marked escape, and they're like: 'Why are you helping us?' and Jayden's like: 'Cause u need to get out of here as much as you.'

~Eliana
I creep through the forest, looking for the Marked. A strong gust of wind comes my way, and I smile. A wind mark. I look up, and see a strand of brown hair on a branch. It's a girl.
I take out one of my knives, and the girl sits up. She looks down at me, and her blue eyes meet my green ones. Immediately, I see the fear in them, and the anger. I feel the handle of the knife in my hands. Now, I think, and throw the knife.
A strong gust of wind comes my way, and the knife comes blowing back. The wind blows me back, and I slam into the floor, the wind knocked out of me. After a while, I gasp and scramble up, looking at the tree to see if the girl was still there. Obviously, she wasn't.
I bite my lip in frustration and worry. We need to have a minimum of two of the Marked to bring back, and right now, we have none.
---------
I walk slowly back to the camp, and I see Jayden and Silva sitting by the fire, chatting. I walk over and force a smile onto my face, "Did you catch any Marked today?" I ask.
They shake their heads, sighing, "You?"
I shake my head, sitting beside them, "We need to get more of them, quickly. Did you see any?"
Silva nods, "Yeah. A shadow ma-,"
"I think it was Daeris," Jayden interrups her.
I look at him, curious, "Daeris?" I remember her. She was a Hunter about three years ago, then one day, she suddenly left. I didn't know her that well, but Daeris? A Marked? It seems impossible, yet it makes sense.
"Maybe..." I say, hesitantly.
"I think it was," Jayden repeats.
I shrug and don't say anything.
(June 10, 2016 - 6:35 am)
Daeris was never part of the Hunt ...
(June 10, 2016 - 12:58 pm)
Sorry! I though I remembered that she had been part of the Hunt... Darn. Maybe she could have been like, considering joining or something and got to know Jayden, Silva, and Eliana? We've put her in enough posts that I think she should know them somehow...
(This just goes to show how bad my memory can be. Sorry everyone!!!)
