Marked RP!Th

Marked RP!

This is my first RP, so please let it live!!!

This is based off of a book that I'm writing. Basically, in a land far far away....  some people have a mark on their wrist that gives them the power over 1 of the elements. (fire, water, light, wind, ice, earth, and darkness.) Multiple people can have the same Mark. Those who are Marked are considered outlaws, and are hunted by a group known creatively as .... The Hunt!

A little more on Marks...

Before someone gets a Mark, they will begin to have vivid dreams about their element. When they wake up one day,  they will feel a burning sensation on their wrist, and the Mark will appear. It cannot disappear, and is easy to hide.

So anyways, you can be one of the following:

Darkness Mark ( can control shadows) : 1 person only

Fire Mark ( can control fire) : 2 people

Water Mark ( can control water): 2 people

Light Mark ( can control lightning):  2 people

Wind Mark( can control wind ): 2 people

Ice Mark( can control ice/snow): 2 people

Earth Mark( can control plants): 2 people

Hunters: 3 people

Other( villagers, etc) 4 people

So, a total of 20 people can join!

Here's the charrie sheet:

Name:

Gender:

Age: ( 12 and up, please)

Role:( Hunter, Marked, Other)

Power: (If any. Note: The unMarked have NO powers)

Weapon: ( Only if you are a hunter)

Appearance:

Backstory:

Other:

Have fun! I'll post my charries later.

Feel free to start! And if you're Marked, you can start off alone and eventually meet up with other people who are Marked.

Usually, the creator of the RP starts.

Well, the prophecy was technically a start... I'll be out from the 10th to the 13th, so I probably won't be able to post that much this week, with school ending and all.

Sometimes the creators specifically ask other people to start it for them. Or someone else asks if they can start it.

Ok, so could i start? If no one else wants too... so this doesn't slide to the ignominy of later pages (not-so-subtle hints...)

Hey my CAPTCHA said cmpv. See my Point of View? Looks like it wants to post, too

Okay. *Deep Breaths* This is my first time starting. I'm going to write in
3rd person., as it's easier for me.
Siraya mumbled incoherently as he changed into his garish school outfit.
The ridiculous tricolored robe was not the high point of attending the
school in the basement of the Three Cauldrons Tavern, which was known for its poor teaching and even worse fashion sense. He walked
out the door towards the tavern, pausing momentarily to pick up the small
copper coin his father had given him to buy breakfast from the inn. He
jogged along the dirt path that led through the town, noticing the grey
clouds gathering over the straw roofs and stone walls. He walked down the
rough hewn stone steps into the school room. Most of the other kids were
already there, sitting on crates and barrels, talking amongst themselves.
The teacher walked in and the children quieted down. The dumpy instructor
settled himself on a barrel , gave the children slates, and told them to do math. Several frustrating hours later, Siraya left school, noting unhappily that it had started to rain, a torrential downpour which was uncommon this time of year. He began to trudge back to his house, when his whole body was shaken by an enormous thunder clap. He began to run, feeling a bit ashamed for being scared of thunder. Siraya thought he was hallucinating, the edges of things seemed to glow green. A massive bolt of lightning forked down from the heavens, hitting the boy in the nape of the neck. His back arced as enough electricity to run an electric car for a week shot through his body, He was lifted off his feet and his nearly lifeless body was thrown twenty feet to the right.
#

An enormously thick tree stands in a field in Africa. Suddenly a bolt of lightning flashes out and demolishes half of it, the result of many hundreds of years of growth, charred out of existence in less than a second. Purple, vine-like
lightning crawls across clouds, hits a tree and travels down it. It spiders across the ground towards a boy who stands still, looking at the crawling wave of purple death.#

Siraya woke up with a burning feeling on his arm and a metalic taste in his mouth. His socks and shoes had been scorched off by the lightning, leaving him barefoot. He staggered the rest of the way home with wide, staring eyes that took in nothing of the world they saw. When he got home he barely noticed his mother and father pointing at his wrist and whispering concernedly. He hardly acknowledged his mother and father gently pushing him back onto the street and telling him to run away and hide, which he did mechanically. He ran until he was too tired to go any further. He layed down and cried himself to sleep, letting most of his stress out, and clearing his mind before he drifted off into a peaceful oblivion.

I like your start! Just one detail... They live in a made-up world, I think I have a post about it earlier in the thread.

I'm writing just this part in third person...

Alice~

The cold wind blew heavy gusts of snow. Every footprint was instantly covered in a coat of seemingly harmless white powder. She trudged on knowing full well what would happen to her if she stopped moving. Up ahead was an enormous frozen lake that covered the entire area for miles on end. There was to be no avoiding it.

She stepped slowly onto the glassy surface. Her breath froze on her lips. And the ice held. Slowly, she placed one foot in front of the other, shifting her weight, careful not to make any sudden movement.

Suddenly, the ice began to crack. It started with a hairline fracture, so small that it was invisible to the human eye. But it began to spread, slowly at first, then more quickly until she turned around to find a massive gap in the frozen lake.

She screamed, as the ice broke under her weight, dropping her into the icy below. She fought fiercely to keep her head above the water, but the frozen tendrils pulled her beneath.

She woke up screaming, her entire pillow covered in sweat and tears.

{|~|} Jenna

Jenna ran home from school, wishing that her parents had let her stay home. The storm had been hovering above town all day, and it was big enough that at least one other village had to be in the middle of this monsoon. As she bolted down the flooding streets, Jenna noticed that no one else was outside. All the other kids in her classes must have stayed back at school to wait it out.

"Wimps," Jenna murmered, but then stopped in her tracks. The hairs stood up on her neck, and she swiveled around just in time to dive out of the way. A jagged bolt of lightning struck the building next to Jenna's head, and she could see that an identical bolt had struck the next village over (Siraya's bolt).  She sat there for a minute, leaning up against a stone building, before she realized what had just happened. Lightning had struck the Sororian's house. Which was made of wood. Which contained four now screaming children.

Jenna hopped to her feet and sprinted into the house. Mrs. Sororian had to work 12 hour days to keep their little family afloat while her husband was off on what he called his, "Profitable Expositions," and she wouldn't be home for a few more hours. Jenna helped the first three children out with only slight discomfort, the fire wasn't that bad yet, but by the time she dove in to grab little three year old Peeta, it was getting bad.

After struggling through the burning house with Peeta on her back for five minutes, Jenna realized it was hopeless. Her way to the door was blocked, but it looked like there was just enough room for Peeta to slip through. Jenna pulled her off her back and shoved her through the little doorway, then started to push at the fallen timbers blocking her path. The heat intensified, but Jenna kept pushing determined to get out. Eventually however, the heat overcame her, and she fell into unconsciousness.

-------------------

"Jenna!" Somebody cried. "Jenna! My baby-"

"Mum!" She groaned. Only her mother would ever call her 'baby.' "I'm fine mum." Jenna peeped opened her eyes and sat up rubbing at her wrist. It felt like some of the fire had stayed there, pressed into her skin. She stood up, shoving her shirtsleeves up to her elbows, and the crowd of villagers around her gasped.

"She's Marked!" A voice shouted.

"Drive her out of town!" Another screamed. "The Hunters will kill us all!"

The crowd started to surge towards Jenna, who was totally confused by all this. Marked? What did that... Oh no. She stumbled back as the crowd rushed toward her, but someone else stopped them.

"What are you doing?" Mrs. Sororian shrieked at them. "This girl just saved my childrens' lives, and you want to throw her out of town because of a little mark on her arm?! She will have to leave, I give you that," she said with a pitying glance Jenna's way. "But we can at least prepare her!"

Jenna's parents broke through the crowd, and they led her back to their house with Mrs. Sororian in tow. Before they stepped inside, Mrs. Sororian pulled Jenna aside and handed her a short smooth object. "Take this dear," she said, unsheathing the small dagger. "You'll need this."

~|Daeris|~

I nearly died because of my dreams three years ago. No problem.

Sitting in the sunshine, letting it all soak in, Silva next to me, head on my shoulder and then ... a dark cloud. Not grey, mind you. Black. Pure black. Then a burning sensation on my wrist, and Silva being snatched away by a long, shadowy tendril of unknown substance.

Then darkness enveloping me, and a dark dagger plunging towards me. Yes. As an eleven year old, you can imagine the screams I would produce as I awoke. And then, weeks later, after sitting in the dark for hours, then drifting off to sleep and awaking in that same dream, truly waking and screaming my poor, pitiful head off, I had a mark.

A black mark.

But this night had been dreamless, so I woke without screaming. Fearing for my life, I stole some food and ran. Darkness had filled my room, just like in my dream.

Now, three years later, I nearly die on a regular basis. That's a problem.

I can't stay in one spot for too long, but I can't move about too frequently, either. I sit up, leaning over the pool. My long black hair dangles over, nearly touching. A loud barking startles me out of my thoughts.

Fear clutches at my heart. Don't move too fast. I spread a bit of darkness over myself so I'll be harder to see and clamber up a tree nearby where I've been staying. A boy with dark hair pulled back into a ponytail darts past my tree, following his dog to the pool where I was but a moment ago.

A girl with black braids slinks up beside him. "This one's very tricky, eh, Jayden?" Something about her soft voice calms me until Jayden speaks. "We'll catch the beast soon." Jayden promises.

This is a new pair. The old pair must have had to trade off. Beast. Animal. Us Marked are human too, you know.

The dog whirls around, barking at my tree. I smirk and stick my toungue out at it. Jayden peers up my tree. "I don't see anything, Silva. Just a shadowy mess." My heart aches at the sound of the girl's name.

Silva. Like my little sister. It is a common name. "A shadowy mess? Jayden, use your brain." My heart thumps uncomfortably.

"So you're telling me to go get up that tree? That Marked could kill us!" Sorry, I haven't figured out how to yet.

They know I'm here. I send out a dark cloud of shadow, and grab my things. "A Shadow Mark!" Jayden exclaims. Of course, you idiot.

I leap from the treee and run. I dart through the trees. I have to hurry and gain some breathing space.

Note-I am omitting 'the forest' from my location, from now on I will just be Leafpool.

I just noticed we have a Seraya and a Sereyna-similarity, anyone? Also, a correction, Sereyna still lives with her grumpy grandfather.

Sereyna~

The girl glanced up at the ominous storm clouds in the distance. They were getting closer by the minute, she'd better get home. Grabbing her light blue cloak off the ground, she hurried toward the road. A small, icy drop touched her on the shoulder. Snow! It seemed to be the cause of all her misfortunes. Her grandmother, the only kindness that she had found at her grandfather's house, had died of cold two winters ago. A snowstorm had blown down a tree that she had planted in memory of her parents, and the snow had always seemed to follow her everywhere she went, wreaking havoc upon good people. A cold gush of wind tore her from her memories, and she bent her head, seeking shelter. The snow started falling fast and thick, covering the dirt road. Unless she could find the big boulder that marked the crossroads, she would never get home before the snow covered everything. Pulling her cloak tightly around her shoulders, she shuddered. A swir of snow blew into her eyes, blinding her. She did not see the root sticking out of the snow until she was tumbling down, helplessly blundering into the deep snow.

A sharp pain woke Sereyna. She was lying on the snow, but the storm had stopped. Her wrist felt like it was burning, but at the same time it was numb. Frostbite? She pulled her sleeve back, but her wrist just looked as usual. A little blue with cold, but usual. A large shape stood in the distance. The boulder! She had been close to it all along. She got to her feet and turned to the boulder. Where was it... Where was it... "Aha!" Her hand brushed over a deep crevice in one side. Then it was. Now it would just be north of that... She turned and trudged forward. The village would be straight ahead from here...

"Wherewere you, Sereyna? You've been gone a full two days!" Her grandfather berated her. He seized her by the arm. "What the-" His eyes widened with shock. "You're Marked!" He pushed her away. "Get out! Go away! Marked..." He slammed the door behind her. The neighbors had heard his shouts and were piling out of their houses. "Get out of the village! You'll bring the Hunters here!" They cried. Sereyna looked left and right. What were they talking about? She wasn't Marked! She pushed her sleeve back. An icy silver-blue Mark glowed on her wrist. "Oh no..." She pulled her cloak around her and took to her feet, running out of the village gates. This would ruin her life!

So there you have it, sorry if I used a bit too much ellipses and 'she' s. I typed this on an iPad, so it took awhile.

September, could you explain your idea to me a bit more? I'm not sure what you mean. When you said made up world, I though fantasy. Do you mean this is like a communal dream by all of the characters?

Hmm my CAPTCHA says goko. Does that mean you like Anime?

It is fantasy, but I mean that it isn't happening in Earth. I saw that you mentioned Africa, and the people wouldn't know what/where Africa is. There's a post about the world I planned it in in an ealier post.
