Character: Foxpaw: a recent apprentice in SunClan's overflowing apprentice den due to the large amount of kits.  Foxpaw is a red she-cat with black ears and a white tail.

We will make up the characters as we go.  Enjoy!

Edemame says waik, I am awake silly!

Foxpaw proudly strutted away from the Highrock, her head held high.  SunClan chanted her new name. "Foxpaw, foxpaw, foxpaw!"  Foxpaw was glad to finally begin her training.  She had badly wanted to start for a long time now.  Rainpaw bounded up to her, her mew full of excitement, " I'm glad that you're finally an apprentice too!" she mewled " Let me show you the den."  Rainpaw had been a playmate of Foxpaw when they were both kits.  Now they even had the same mentor!  There was such an abundance of kits that each warrior had to take on two or three apprentices, a difficult task, but the clan was happy to have so many budding warriors.  Foxpaw let Rainpaw lead her away from the Highrock and across the clearing to the apprentice den-well one of them.  They had two now, the second built recently since there wasn't enough room for the apprentices.  Foxpaw walked into the shady hollow and sniffec around, trying to find a good spot to sleep later.  She eventually settled on a nest next to one that smelled of Rainpaw.  Rainpaw led her out of the den.  "C'mon you've had a long day, lets share a mouse."  Foxpaw was happy to oblige.

Pinepaw and Badgerpaw were sharing a piece of prey when Adderstrike burst through the camp entrance. "Sunburst! Rouges! Biting!" he panted. Moonstar rushed up to him. "What's the matter?" she asked frantically. "No time to explain!" Adderstrike cried. "Come!" He scurried out of camp. Moonstar turned her attention back to her clanmates. "Fernrunner, Blackflame, Pinepaw and Badgerpaw. Come with me." Excitement tingled throughout Pinepaw. What's so urgent? he wondered with anticipation.

Alright, here we go! I've wanted to write some more anyways.

~~

Sunburst landed with a thud on the dusty clearing, blood dripping from a wound on his neck. The rogue leader had thrown him across the area, and was now prowling up for a killing blow. Still no cat moved. What's happened to to everyone? he thought. It's like they're suspended. Looming above him, the rogue licked his lips, bared his teeth, and snapped. Sunburst waited for the release of death, but--

It never came. There was a rush of wind above him as the leader was thrown aside. Stonestar was standing above him, panting and shaking in fury. "Enough!" he roared, his yellow eyes burning. "You will leave now!" The rogue leader jumped to his feet and shook his thick red fur out, snarling at Stonestar. A smaller rogue crept up, tail between its legs.

"Blaze," he whispered in a reedy voice. "M-maybe we should back out. This cat seems pretty serious." Blaze flashed out a paw, throwing the small gray cat aside. "I always knew you were weak, Ash," he growled. Sunburst froze in terror, knowing what was about to come. "And weakness will not be tolerated." He flicked his tail, and two larger rogues, a black cat and an ice-eyed tortoishell dragged Ash backwards into the bushes. Seconds later there was a scream, and the black cat and tortoishell returned, Ash nowhere to be seen. The Clan cats all scrambled back in horror, realizing what this ruthless leader had just done.

Stalking up to Stonestar, whose fur was bushed up in anger and horror, Blaze snarled "Either you leave or we drive you out. Now." Stonestar still stood stoicly, though his pelt was puffed up.

"Never," he hissed. "The Clans belong here, and we will not let a couple of mangy rogues drive us out." Blaze smiled, a toothy grin that sent chills don Sunburst's spine. "Oh, please, Stoneleap." he purred. "Do you realy think I would come without reinforcements?" His long, bushy tail swished in the air, and to Sunburst's horror at least thirty more rogues prowled out of the gloom. The clearing was now cramped and the Clans were vastly outnumbered. Stonestar's ears flattened.

"I--" he began. Sunburst saw a shiver run down the leader, and then he found his tongue. "I--never. We would rather die than let you hunt us down." Blaze smiled again, and casually flicked his tail. "If that's what you want," he said. "Then DIE." Giving a battle-screech, him and the rogues rushed forwards, spitting and clawing. Sunburst froze as a tawny she-cat with burning amber eyes beared down on him; then a heavy shape hit his side, and Adderstrike rose up to meet her.

Sunburst watched as Adderstrike grappled with the rogue, crying out as another silver male joined her. Adderstrike flipped away, and he spared a second to yell "Go back to the camp! GET MORE CATS!!" before slashing at both of them. Sunburst back away, at first slowly, then broke into a full-out sprint as he raced back to camp.

When he arrived, Moonstar rushed up to meet him. He gasped out "There are... so many more rogues... at least forty... we need help from other Clans! Or... we'll be driven... out!" Moonstar's eyes widened as he told her this. She whipped around.

"Go to the ForestClan camp and tell Owlstar. You, to FireClan. You, to MoorClan. And you, to MarshClan. Go! HURRY!" Lilypetal, Lightningfire, Shadepaw and Willowpaw nodded, terrified, and raced off in different directions, clumps of dirt flying up as they went. Moonstar turned to Sunburst and said "Come with me, back to the battlefield. I pray to StarClan it's not too late..." Together,  Sunburst and Moonstar hared away, back to the battlefield wher the fate of the Clans may rest.

Reluctantly, Foxpaw padded slowly back to her den. As she reached her nest, she realized something. Why was she one of the only apprentices not fighting? She and Beechpaw were the only ones who had finished their warrior assessment today, and were by far the most advanced apprentices. And yet Foxpaw wasn't helping her clan at all. She was sitting in a nest, doing absolutely nothing to assure the safety of her clanmates. She sighed, obviously frustrated, and rested her head on her paws wearily. Dusk was descending upon the camp, and she did not see Beechpaw watching her from the shadowed corner of the den, also questioning why he was not chosen to fight. The two most advanced apprentices, warned to stay in the den because it was not safe. Yet it was safe for young apprentices? Curious, Foxpaw thought. Quite curious indeed.

Sorry I haven't written in a while.  I started something, but I didn't get to finish it and I lost it.  TOP PLEASE!!!  Or at least first page.  Also who is the deputy again?  i forgot and with all the text that is written, that kind of thig is hard to find.

The scents of Moonstar, Adderstrike, and Cherryfall wafted into the den, mingled with blood.  The three cats entered.  Moonstar stood before Foxpaw and Beechpaw.  She was panting and a deep scratch on her shoulder steadily trickled blood, but still she managed to maintain her usual dignity.

"I'm sorry it has to be like this," she murmured.  Like what?  Foxpaw wondered.  Moonstar cleared her throat.  "We must hurry, your warrior ceremony will happen now."  However frightened and shocked Foxpaw was the thought of her warrior ceremony brought on a flicker of excitement.  "I know that you must have many questions, and they will be answered in time."  Cherryfall and Adderstrike stood by Moonstar's sides.  What was going on?  Foxpaw just wanted to fight for her Clan.  Wasn't she a normal warrior?  Moonstar began to speak to Foxpaw and Beechpaw.

"I, Moonstar leader of SunClan call upon my warrior ancestors to look down on these two apprentices.  They have trained hard to understand the ways of your noble code, and I commend them to you as a warrior in their turn.  Beechpaw and Foxpaw, do you promise to uphold the warrior code and to protect and defend your Clan, even at the cost of your life?"

Foxpaw gritted her teeth.  She wanted to, but they weren't letting her.  Still, she would.  In unison, Beechpaw and Foxpaw spoke.  "I do."

"Then by the powers of StarClan I give you your warrior name.  Foxpaw, from this moment on you will be known as Foxleap.  StarClan honors your bravery, eagerness, and skill, and we welcome you as a full warrior of SunClan.  Beechpaw, from this moment on you will be known as Beechfur.  StarClan honors your optimism, skill, and bravery, and we welcome you as a full warrior of SunClan."

A purr rumbled in Foxleap's throat and Beechfur licked his chest fur in embarrassment.  But the cries of their Clanmates did not ring out around them.  Moonstar let them preen for a moment, but then got straight down to business.  "As you may have guessed, you two and one other are very special, and must be protected at all costs.  You must leave until it is safe for you to be here again."

Foxleap was puzzled.  She piped up.  "But I fought before in the battle with HollowClan."

Moonstar nodded.  "These enemies are much more formidable.  They have some history with the Clans and are very dangerous, especially to you."

Beechfur seemed to have a few questions of his own as well.  "But where are we going?  And who is the third cat?  How are we special?  How do you know that we are special?"

Moonstar was ready, "You are going to find a safe place.  The third cat is Ivythorn of FireClan.  She will accompany you on your journey.  Your power is yet to be be discovered.  A prophecy has told us of your power.  The three will come forth from the ashes of the Clans.  The saviors, they will be.  One with fur as bright red as a burning blaze, one with a pelt as pale as snow, and  one with fur as black as the darkest of nights.  Beech, Fox, and Ivy.  Adderstrike will come with you, and a trusted cat from FireClan."  There was a lapse in Moonstar's robotic manner.  Her eyes watered.  "I am sorry to see you go."

Just then, the unfamiliar scent of FireClan entered the camp.  With it, came two cats.  Moonstar and Cherryfall stepped out of the den, before going Cherryfall padded over to Beechfur.

"I will miss you, Beechfur.  You were an excellent apprentice."  Then, she and Moonstar rushed out of the camp.

The FireClan warriors met them in the middle of the clearing.  The older tabby she-cat spoke.  "I am Reedflower, and this is Ivythorn.  We should go at once."  Ivythorn looked nervous and shocked, reflecting both Foxleap's and Beechfur's demeanors.  Ivythorn's fur was black as the darkest night.  But what if this was all a mistake.  Could they really be the cats from the old prophecy?  These cats certainly seemed to think so.  The five cats walked out of camp, heading out of the forest and away from the shrieks of caterwauling cats.

~~

Watery dawn light slowly lit the terrible battle scene. Several cat bodies were scattered around the clearing, more Clan cats than rogues. A little ways away, Sunburst lay on the ground, panting. A long wound dripped blood across the side of his torso, given to him from Blaze himself. The Clans had battled fiercly, but reinforcment arrived to late and the rogues were too many. The outsiders had driven them all out, and now Sunburst had no idea where anyone else was, nor had any qualms to find them.

But after an hour or two, Sunburst began to feel strength returning to his muscles, and a thirst burning in his throat. Besides, now that rogues ruled the forest, he would do well to stay out of their way. Heaving himself to his feet, he padded through the forest, roving the dense marsh for a stream or something. He was in MarshClan's territory now, and didn't know where to start looking for any sources of water. After traveling in the wet territory for several minutes, Sunburst came across a shallow puddle, and gratefully drank out of it. When he was refreshed, he decided to delve into FireClan territory. Maybe he'd find some of his Clan there...

Slipping through a clump of fern, he was about to make a reconaisse at the camp when a rustling in the brush alerted him to a presence. He quickly backed away, trying to escape, but bumped into a tree behind him. Terror swamped him, because he knew he would be unable to fight rogues if they came upon him.

But to his utmost surprise, it was not a gnarled rogue who came out of the bushes, but Adderstrike, Foxpaw, Beechpaw, the  FireClan cat Reedflower, and a black FireClan cat, who he though was named Ivy-something. "F-foxpaw?" he spluttered, shocked. His own surprised expression was mirrored in the faces of the cats he saw before him.

"Sunburst?" she said. "What are you doing here? And also, my name's Foxleap now." She said the last words with a hint of pride etched in her tone. "And this is Beechfur and Ivythorn." Sunburst still wasn't processing something, though. Backing away from the tree, he confronted Foxleap.

"Why are you with FireClan cats, then?" Beechfur stepped forwards, excited, and blurted out "Because of a prophecy-" but stopped with a death glare from Adderstrike. Sunburst had already felt his stomach turn to stone, though. It was only now he recalled what Moonstar had vaguely told him before they delved into battle.

Moonstar stopped at they were about to clamber over a large boulder and turned to him. "Sunburst, I need to tell you something," she said gravely. "We may lose this battle and be driven out, but you cannot give up hope. I say this because there is a prophecy in order, and the three cats will save us. I do not have time to tell you who, but two are in our Clan and one across out borders." And before he could question her, she had leapt over the rock and out of sight.

Sunburst stood stock-still as these words washed over him. Of course. It made so much sense. This was why Beechfur and Foxleap connected so easily, why he could never fall in with her. It was because they were in a prophecy together, while Sunburst was just... just an ordinary insect who was as unspecial as a leaf. Feeling hollow inside, he slowly stumbled away, calling words of parting over his shoulder. He felt his eyes burn, and he plunged into the overgrowth, the dreaded thought of "She's special and I'm not" burning at him as he darted away.

TOP!!!!!!

Foxleap stared after Sunburst.  She wanted to call to him, to make him come back, but she couldn't.  Now she wouldn't have to choose between him and Beechfur.  But wasn't it better to have a choice?  And now Foxleap would have to leave.  She looked at the devastation around her, cats sprawled around the clearing blood still seeping out of their wounds.  Their battle cries rang in her ears still.  She had a terrible feeling that this was just the beginning.  Adderstrike called to her.  "Come on!  We must leave now."  Ivythorn and Beechfur padded over to Adderstrike but Foxleap hesitated.  She couldn't go.  She didn't want to go.  It would be better to be alone.  And silently, Foxleap came to a decision.  She wouldn't go.  True to her name, Foxpaw leaped away through the undergrowth in the opposite direction that the three other cats were heading.  Luckily, they were momentarily unaware that she hadn't followed.  Foxleap would use that to her advantage.  She would have to be careful.  Blaze and his band of rogues were still out there, lurking the forest.  Where will I go?  Foxpaw wondered to herself.  But she would find a way, and someday she would return.  Foxpaw sped through the forest.  Then she realized something.  She would leave a strong scent trail that the smallest kit could track.  But what else could she do?  The forest was thick here and the trees were close together.  The trees are close together!  She shouldn't leave a scent trail on the ground but one in the trees should be safe.  Foxleap launched herself into a tree, she landed on  flimsy branch and stood there for a moment, shaking.  Then she shifted onto a sturdier branch.  Foxleap sighed.  This was going to be hard.  And just then her stomach growled.  Not now.  Foxleap thought.  Later.  She would eat when she absolutely had to.  No wasting time.  Foxleap leaped to the branch of the following tree, and then the next, and the next.  She looked back.  And Foxleap's heart sank.  She hadn't gotten far.  This would certainly be a slower way to travel.
