Random Thoughts/Things?

Random Thoughts/Things?

I wasn’t really sure what to call this thread, but I’ve had this idea floating around in my head for awhile now. Basically, anyone can post anything here. Any random thought you have, any random thing that happens to you, any random question that pops into your mind. Have fun, and don’t be afraid to be random.

I finally listened to the music recs and tysm!! I do think Te Regalo is the best, but all the others are really good too, and yes I'm really so excited to learn Spanish so I can sing AND dance! Umm ahaha I sorta choreograph, just for fun, not saying I'm any good though :) and yeah, I love to perform on stage! I've been dancing since I was, idk, really really little (4 years old?), which is great because I'm so used to being up there that I don't really get nervous :) (and don't worry, I love using smiley faces too! :) )

You're welcome, glad you liked them! Whoa, it's great that you choreograph/dance onstage, because I love to dance but I've never formally learned and I've never danced onstage :) Oh yes not getting stage fright's definitely an asset! Good luck learning Spanish :]

Does anyone have any song recommendations that will make me cry? That just make you feel that way.

All I have in return is, like, 'A Drop in the Ocean' by Ron Pope and 'Boats and Birds' by Gregory and the Hawk, if you're wondering what I mean. And maybe 'Amy Shark' by Amy Shark, too, now that I think about it.

"Casimir Pulaski Day" by Sufjan Stevens (most of his songs really)

"The Parting Glass" (there's many good versions; I'm fond of boygenius's in particular)

"Sleeping In" by The Postal Service (this whole album is flawless)

Hmm.. maybe Broken by Anson Seabra/other songs by him? I'll be back later if I think of any more!

Sure! I hope these will suit~

-My Beloved Country (Russian Imperial Army in WWI) - I found this song when I was studying WWI in school. I don't know who it's by, but if you search for it under that title, it should come up. It's so sad and plaintive. I can't understand the words, but it feels like it's basically sadness translated into music.

- Eleni by Kostas Mantzios - indescribably beautiful

-Soz Verdim by Aycegul Coskun - bitter and sad and passionate

-The Next Right Thing by Kristin Bell - this one really makes you cry, especially if you watch the video

-Paper Airplane by Alison Krauss - wistful and sad and delicate, like a March day. (Idk if you remember the poem I wrote about her music a while back)

-I Give You the Morning by Buffalo Rose - sweet, delicate, pale, wistful, but happy too

-Wrong Baby Wrong Baby Wrong by Martina McBride - encourages you to cry and let it all out and then encourages you to be happy again, similar to having a friend come over and help you out when you're in a meltdown

I know you didn't ask for these, but here are a few that might make you feel super-happy. If you play them and then get up and start dancing, it will literally make you feel wonderful. You start existing in a world of movement and color and music and joy. Don't ask me how they do it, but they do.

-Te regalo, by Carlos Baute. It's happiness distilled into music.

-Muy loco by Carlos Baute - the video is really good too, as is the video of the Making Of "Muy Loco". It's fun to dance to it while watching the video :)

-Te sigo pensando by Carlos Baute (yes I KNOWWWW these are all by Baute but seriously he's so good)

-Chas! Y Aparezco a Tu Lado by Operacion Triunfo - tons of energy, sass, and positivity, as well as a really fast rhythm that gets you out of your seat

-Adelante, by Naiara - I love the lyrics (the chorus is "Forward, for the dreams that remain to us/Forward, for the dreams that are still to come/Forward, because it doesn't matter/Destiny is the promise of going on"), which is just... amazing.

Anyway, that's all I have for now...

I also wanted to check in with you; how are things? Are you feeling better lately? You totally don't have to reply if you don't want to, I don't want to be nosy or pressuring or anything. But if you want to talk about it, even dump a 50-page rant on me, I'll listen :)

My other suggestion was: have you thought about trying farm-work therapy?  There are a lot of programs and organizations that provide farm-work opportunities for teenagers and adults who need a fresh start or are just interested in farms. Some of them provide pay or fresh food as compensation. They also provide a strong community and a network of genuine friends; farmers are usually very down-to-earth, friendly, caring people (and I've met several, so it's not just me romanticizing them). The work in itself can also be really soothing and calming, and being outside doing practical, ordinary things that have direct and positive benefits can be really good for your mental health. Whenever I'm upset, I go out and garden (which doesn't mean I artistically prune some bushes or water the flowers; it means I battle the weeds :/), and soon I feel better - so working on a farm might have the same effect for you.  Anyway, it might be worth considering. I feel like it might be really helpful for you, and you should give it a try if you agree! Just thought I'd mention it :)

All The Good Ones - Chloe Adams (this is one of the sweetest songs I've ever heard, yet so sad and nostalgic at the same time)

She - Dodie (I'm including this song more because it has a slow and sad "vibe", but the lyrics also get to me pretty often)

cradle - Paris Paloma (Paris Paloma is one of my favorite artists, and though I prefer her more lively songs she also has a ton of melancholy ones-- echo is another good sad song by her!)

Anson Seabra (Broken, Trying My Best, It's Raining It's Pouring, etc.), Imagine Dragons (Zero, Wrecked, etc.), Prom Dress by mxmtoon (that's more personal for me though Ig?), 6/10 by Dodie?, AJR (Burn The House Down, World's Smallest Violin, Way Less Sad, etc.)  Praying by Kesha maybe??...

We had the science portion of state testing today, and the spell check feature on the open responses marked "polydactyl" as wrong for some reason?? At first I thought I had just mistyped it but even when I copy-pasted it from the passage it still said it wasn't a word. Technology is just weird I guess, lol.

(I'd recommend not looking polydactyly up if you get squeamish easily! It's nothing bad, just a mutation that causes an extra finger, but I wanted to give a warning just in case.)

Spell check only knows what someone has told it. I often encounter words it does not know.

I just discovered C418's albums of ambient Minecraft background music and I'm so in love with Mice on Venus and Aria Math... Brings back so many good memories of childhood naivety, when I was still getting all hyped up over the ocean update. I haven't kept up with the recent updates and now I'm dying of nostalgia-

I never wanted to grow up (sad noises)

Me in the covers being nostalgic be like: (-_-___)
