Random Thoughts/Things?

Random Thoughts/Things?

I wasn’t really sure what to call this thread, but I’ve had this idea floating around in my head for awhile now. Basically, anyone can post anything here. Any random thought you have, any random thing that happens to you, any random question that pops into your mind. Have fun, and don’t be afraid to be random.

that sounds so fun and it's why I'm looking forward to no longer being homeschooled next year!! (yep, next year I'll be learning with Other People!! *gasp* It won't just be me in my bedroom studying alone at a desk, nobly pioneering into the fields of Knowledge - and I don't think that bit about fields of knowledge made any sense but well it sounds nice)

Grrrrr it makes me so annoyed when books have the thing with "alpha" and "beta" and "omega" wolves, because THAT IS NOT A THING!!! Seriously, it isn't!! Wolves don't act like that!!

Addie says /ofkwv/ she must be saying of course wolves don't!

yeah, part of the reason the whole "alpha male" tend is so funny to me as an outsider, is not only is it just kinda dumb, it's based on, like, outdated science? the guy who developed the theory came out later and said "yeah, wolves don't actually do that?"

wait wait wait you're going to see MESSI?! In-person? (ofc Idk how in-person it is to sit in a stadium and look at a small figure on the field, but still!!) I often watch soccer games but I've never gotten to attend an actual one, let alone one with Messi. To me all the players are just these almost fictional figures. Seeing one would be on a par with seeing Mr. Tumnus or Lucy Pevensie or someone. That's amazing. Plus doesn't David Beckham manage Inter Miami? Oh my gosh are you going to see David Beckham?! Plus if you see Messi, you'll be seeing a person who's played alongside Luis Suarez and Neymar, and played against Cristiano Ronaldo, and oh heavens. In fact doesn't Luis Suarez play in Inter Miami too?! Gosh, you're so lucky! (Allow me to clarify: I don't much like Suarez. I used to abhor him with a purple passion and basically twelve-year-old me considered him a Dastardly Villain of the Soccer World, namely because Uruguay knocked out Portugal in the 2018 World Cup [no offense to anyone or to Suarez, though]. [I like the phrase "purple passion" for some reason...] But he's just so legendary. Like Anne of Green Gables. [I haven't got the faintest idea what he'd say if he knew an impertinent CBer was comparing him to Anne of Green Gables, given his image.]) Anyway, please tell me all about how the game went and what it was like! Oh and congratulations on your ski practice!!

this really made me smile :)

not all soccer players are difficult though, go watch La sonrisa de Ronaldo - it's a gorgeous documentary about Cristiano Ronaldo, from back in the days when he was sweet and naive and innocent and enthusiastic. Every few minutes there's a scene where he's talking, and he just has this kind of radiant enthusiasm that's so nice, especially nowadays when everyone seems so bored. And even if you're not interested in him, it's really nice because it's so peaceful; just people talking and being happy, and nice music in the background, and scenes of fountains playing in Madrid and horses in the sunlight and seagulls in Lisbon and all in all it's just very nice. Although it is in Spanish, so that might make it less enjoyable if you don't understand what they're all saying... and idrk if it would be quite up your alley... but still, go try it out, it's my favorite documentary and it's really, really enjoyable. Everyone in it seems so happy and carefree and it's not the typical documentary where everything is "bing bang boom dramatic music help sinister things are coming", it's at the same time poetic and entertaining.

Oh, and the opening scene is beautiful. There's this lovely classical music playing, and there are some soccer scenes and suddenly you can see how soccer is like dancing. It requires so much precision and beauty and grace. Since you like ballet maybe you'd enjoy seeing that :)  You can find it by searching for "la sonrisa de Ronaldo documentary". (@Admins, don't worry, it's completely appropriate, there's nothing even mildly distressing. A child of two could watch it.)

Anyway. This turned into a long discourse on documentaries. We never know where conversations will take us :)
