I wasn’t really sure what to call this thread, but I’ve had this idea floating around in my head for awhile now. Basically, anyone can post anything here. One thing is that like I both missed this place as a whole and the individual people. Sometimes I'd just be like, "I wish I could talk to [whatever CBer] right now" So I'm really glad this place is back!!

also sorry but @admins, I recently got the cricket magazine (SOO GOOD BTW!! :DD and 2 recipes! And now Ik more pi than ever before!), and on the quotes section I'm fairly certain it was Darkvine or someone else who said the "why do you cook bacon and bake cookies" or whatever, in the letterbox? But also idk if it was another Celine bc it just said Celine, not CelineBurning Bright? Ofc, I totally could've posted it and forgot, and I think I did post it as a quote I loved from Vine, but just... idk why I'm even saying this bc Idk what you would do haha, just fyi :)

I apologize if there's a mixup in the source of the quote, but regardless of who said it first, I wonder if anyone will come up with a good answer for the question: Why do you cook bacon and bake cookies?

happy pi month!

did you know that π can be defined as any value between 3 and 4 inclusive, depending on the distance metric being used? Pi is always the ratio of the circumference of a circle to the diameter—so in 2d Euclidean space that'd be 3.14... but if you have something like Taxicab distance where there is no diagonal movement, everything is calculated as if on a grid, and all distance is defined as the sum of the absolute values of the x and y distances then you get a circumference of 8r and a diameter of 2r, giving π = 4. If you did something sketchy with hexagons you could probably get π = 3 as well! I forget exactly why it's bounded by 3 and 4 but there's another mathematical explanation.

which is all to say, we shouldn't be celebrating only March 14th each year—we should celebrate all of March! and don't even get me started on tau day... :)
