Random Thoughts/Things?

Random Thoughts/Things?

I wasn’t really sure what to call this thread, but I’ve had this idea floating around in my head for awhile now. Basically, anyone can post anything here. Any random thought you have, any random thing that happens to you, any random question that pops into your mind. Have fun, and don’t be afraid to be random.

No, actually! At least I'm not. I know public school is different for a lot of people, and I think it's better for people who actually want to be there. But I've been homeschooled my whole life, and I'm going to public school for high school this fall--and I just want to say, I get you! Homeschooling can be great, great for your education and great for being raised in an environment that is often a lot better than what is in a lot of schools, where there are no parents to help their kids do the right thing. But (especially for extroverts) homeschooling can be kind of lonely, crushing, or lacking in some things. I'd say, if you're going to be continuing with homeschooling, find some activities to do, maybe look for homeschooling co-ops or exclusively-homeschooler activities, do things you like, use your free time (I'm assuming since you're homeschooled, you have a lot more free time on your hands than a lot of people) to develop skills you want, and take advantage of the opportunity to learn what you want to learn and how you want to learn it!

You've got a good point, Leafy, and I try to do that. Actually, the solitary-y-ness isn't very bad for me, bc I'm very introverted, but I do get lonely sometimes, and lately I've been nagging at my mom to let us go to a homeschoolers get-together or something.

Right now it kind of feels like no one really cares in general.

I had this odd conversation tonight, where I was trying to explain to ~10 family members why I didn’t believe in the multiverse theory, and I said as an example “in no universe is this (dead, cooked) chicken on my plate going to jump up and attack me. Agreed?” And all but one person said “no!”

I still don’t understand how the chicken could attack me...

Oh! I just remembered a thing that I meant to mention a while ago, about how I basically passed up a chance to show just how much of a CBer I am. So here's the story:

I went to visit my grandparents with my older sister. They live about an hour away in NH, and they actually have a beach house that they live in year-round. It's at an awesome beach, and my sister and I decided to go down there a couple of weeks ago.

When we showed up and my grandparents' house, they offered to take us to this smoothie shop near their house to get smoothies. We, of course, agreed, and so we walked down there.

We were waiting in line (this was a small shop, and it was packed) to get smoothies, and I was craning my neck to try to see the board with smoothie options on it (not helped by the fact that every single person in front of me in line was taller than I was, and they were all standing in a row about two people wide right in front of the board) but I kind of managed to see the options. I was reading them, and then I saw...something called a blue moon smoothie. And I just thought, oh gosh, I probably have to get that. I can't miss that. Because I'm a CBer. And blue moon is a CB inside joke/legend/whatever.

But...there were so many other yummy options. And the blue moon smoothie had some weird ingredients in it that I wasn't very eager to get. So I decided to get a different smoothie. And I feel like I betrayed the Chatterbox! *Wails*

Well, I guess I’ve gotta confess. My family vacations in Michigan every year, and I’ve seen blue moon ice cream at multiple ice cream places. And I’ve passed up the opportunity to have it multiple times. In fact, I still haven’t gotten it, despite my many chances. So I can relate to feeling like a traitor. XD I have sampled it though, a few times. A lady at one of the ice cream shops actually told us that the main flavor was nutmeg, and I could totally taste it after that, but the blue color threw me off (I had guessed it was cotton candy flavored or the like). Nutmeg is my favorite spice, and the samples were good, and it being a CB legend, I think I’m going to have to get it next year.
