How come we say "a role playing game" but then if we abreviate it we switch to "an RPG"?
Good question! I think it's because as an initial, R is pronounce as ar, and words that begin with a vowel use an.

I met a woman yesterday who looked like Bruce Banner's mother. It was something about the facial structure, the eyes, her complexion, and facial expressions. It was uncanny.
