Random Thoughts/Things?
I wasn’t really sure what to call this thread, but I’ve had this idea floating around in my head for awhile now. Basically, anyone can post anything here. Any random thought you have, any random thing that happens to you, any random question that pops into your mind. Have fun, and don’t be afraid to be random.

am i overthinking this?
i'm probably overthinking this
--but if i'm not, then i should say that
but if i am, then saying that would be pointless
i'm overthinking that i might be overthinking this

I saw Hex asking for some song recommendations in other languages a page or so back, so here's a few more!
> Soleil - Pomme (French) [Contemporary music, guitar, mostly calm]
> Ceux qui Revênt - Pomme (French) [Contemporary, piano + other stuff, haunting, dizzying, TW: in the official MV it does speed up / get pretty frantic towards the end, kind of like like a panic/anxiety attack, so if you're sensitive to that, maybe give it a pass :)]
> Tri Martolod - Nolwenn Leroy (Actual Old English? Like, actually, literally unrecognisable?? Also known as Breton, I believe) []
> Fear a' Bhata - Niamh Parsons (Irish Gaelic! :D) [A bit bittesweet, subdued, gentle]
> BLUEBIRD - Ikimono Gakari (Japanese) [Definitely the most rock-adjacent recommendation so far, loud and impassioned but still really pretty]
> Federkleid - FAUN (German) ["Medieval-styled," generally sounds cool and fairly chill]
> Mizu Fusen - Fujita Maiko (Japanese) [incredibly calming, traditional(ish?) Japanese feeling]
> Butterfly and Flower - Fujita Maiko (Japanese) [actually haunting, so friggin' pretty and I really recommend checking out more of Fujita Maiko if you like any of her songs I listed here]
> BOCA - Dreamcatcher (Korean) Of course I had to include my first beloved Kpop band <3 [Spanish-inspired, seamlessly changes tone at least 3 times, I guess it's technically rock-based]
> Filter - BTS' Jimin (Korean) [Contemporary, catchy, a little whisper'y-voiced(I know some people can't stand that style, so it might be a deal-breaker for you), guitar, the lyrics are actually surprisingly tragic]
> Fukurou - KOKIA (Japanese) [Literally the most calming thing you'll ever hear, piano, KOKIA'S voice is absolutely angelic]
> Otona no Ookami - KOKIA (Japanese) [Absolutely gorgeous vocals, very passionate and energetic, percussion + strings]
> Paradise - Dreamcatcher's Siyeon (Korean) [Upbeat, mostly pretty calm and chill, there are spikes of energy though, actually makes me cry every time I hear it, such soulful vocals from Siyeon]
> Ji Mingyue - SING (Chinese) [technically Cpop, but it is heavily influenced by traditional sounding music, overall quiet lovely]
> Skip Skip - Purple Kiss (Korean) [These last two are really upbeat and contemporary, plus they just have a certain wow-factor I can't quite explain. Like, it just sounds really polished and satisfying, plus the lyrics are really empowering?? So like, yea. Listen to these, even if you don't like Kpop. They're literally so good!]
> Ponzona - Purple Kiss (Korean) [A little more mysterious and, like velvety(???) than Skip Skip, but it's just as good]

Ahhhhhhh. I just screwed up courage to post my story on Inkwell and now i'm already worrying about how I shall ever juggle time to keep adding on parts with a full semester ahead of me. *Inhales*And the thread isn't even up yet. Argh, for goodness sake I swear, my introverted side is going to burn out one of these days because I get so stressed.
Ultimatum, your story is too graphic and horrible as submitted. We're going to have to edit it before posting. Or do it yourself and please write future episodes for a younger audienc.

Reccomendations of the Day - Positivity for Saturday
Song: You and Me On The Rock by Brandi Carlile - a happy song about loving someone and appreciating life with them. Sort of country-sounding, very upbeat, and great vocals
Book: The Tea Dragon Society by Kay O'Neill - this is a cute, charming fantasy graphic novel with beautiful art. Though the storyline is a bit rushed in places, the art and aesthetics make up for it, and includes LGBTQIA+ representation. It's very calming and comforting if you're feeling sad <3
While you're on the CB, try: poetry! Check out the regular poetry thread on Pudding's Place, and try writing some of your own! You can also try out the poetry contest, also on PP.
Spread some love in the world: paint some rocks and hide them around your neighborhood for others to find.
Spread some love to yourself: make yourself some tea, hot chocolate, or whatever you like
And that's it for now! Love you all <3

Oh, I love that Brandi Carlile song! I listen to it/sing it a lot :D

I just came back from an escape room with some of my friends. I'm honestly still shaking. It was fun, though. We got it literally at the last second. I'm glad I (for some reason) brought a squishy-thingy (it was helpful to my friend mainly) and a notebook and pencil (we probably could've done it without it, but still, helpful).
Also, I'm trying these markers that Mushroom gave to me for my b-day. I have no idea how to use markers, but whatever. At least I'm not actually starting with a human.... I was going to, but now I'm doing roses. They're cool.

I was today years old when I realized that I don't have to if I don't want to. Watch me rediscover this conclusion many many times more in the future...

it's really interesting how the demographics of the CB have shifted so much since the beginning? like some of the earliest threads on DtE are full of climate change denial. and around 2016 (i think) there was a bit of vaguely homophobic stuff floating around and a lot of endorsement of conservative candidates. and some heated debates about it. and now there are so many queer liberal people i can't even imagine climate change denial existing in this place, ever. like, this has been my main source of lgbtq+ education. i made my first openly queer friends here. i probably wouldn't even have realized i was queer (at least, not as soon as i did) if it weren't for this place. huh. i think as a community, over time we've gotten so much more welcoming + accepting of people and it makes me really happy that this is a space people are comfortable sharing their idenitities and can be confident in the fact that they will be accepted and supported :)
(side note: i don't mean to equate liberal with accepting, seeing as this isn't always the case, and i certainly don't mean to equate conservative with climate change denial and homophobia as this certainly isn't the case much of the time. i also don't mean to imply endorsing conservative candidates is a bad thing: it only becomes a problem when these candidates start to say and do homophobic, racist, sexist, and other discriminatory things, because by endorsing a candidate you are endorsing their ideology. unfortunately, a lot of the time candidates with such harmful ideologies tend to skew conservative, but this is by no means a catch-all and there are definitely conservative candidates who are not racist, homophobic, sexist, or etc.)
note to admins: this is a general question, but how political are we allowed to get on the CB? <-- in answer to your question, we generally tend to steer away from political discussions because they often lead to heated discussions and subjects that might not yet be appropriate for our youngest users.
