Hey, what do you think about making a thread just to talk about Halfy and Winks's songs & the Dream SMP animatic? I love all those songs. White Castle is so mysterious. Wings is sad. Oblivion is also--not sad, but regretful, sort of? Of course there's 'Til the End which is--hard to desribe. Blink of an Eye is cool. Empty Pages is mysterious as well--I haven't heard Era or Oh Adult, Oh Child yet, alas. And don't even get me started on Nothing But Free (that scene where Dream is on the top of a hill? That is such great animatic. And of course the "Lay Yourself and your weapons down--FOR ME is so great).

ANYWAYS. You see why we need a thread.

i want to get back into the cb but there are so many new people! i also have committment issues so i'll be here every hour for a week and then disappear for a long time.

also who remembers ella starburst's hunger games simulators? i want to bring them back... 

i also want to do a ski lodge or a solo write but i doubt i could keep up with it. but i haven't written in a while and i really miss it!

*Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix spoilers... I just came up with this...

James: What the heck mate? Why are you here? You're like 30...

Sirius: I was battling Death Eaters with your son and fell through the Veil of death.

James: What? Are you kidding me?? 

Sirius, staring him in the eye: No, I'm dead sirius.

I have recently been listening to a lot of AJR, and thus, the more I look at their lyrics, the more I continue to develop a theory to explain my lack of songwriting skills. (I suggest you put on a crash helmet and have band-aids at the ready.) Here it is:

I have come to the obvious conclusion that AJR, prior to fame, had discovered the secrets of time travel somehow, or perhaps stolen them from some up-and-coming scientific genius, and then found/created/stole a certain key that allows you entrance into people's minds, a "Head Key", if you will, and then they decided to put their time machine into action, and go forward into the future (specifically fall of 2021) to find some inspiration for their lyrics,  so they decided to pick the strangest, most random subject they could find, and so whilst I was peacefully asleep, AJR time-warped into my house, entered the shadowed recesses of my brain, took all of the unopened jars labeled "Song Lyrics for Future Band", stuffed them into a briefcase, exited my head, took out the key, and left as quickly as they came, warping themselves back to 2017 with all the material they needed for their proceeding albums. I imagine they were laughing maniacally as they did so. 

Although I am sure there is much evidence to the contrary, I believe this to be the correct scenario, explaining in one neat package why AJR is so weirdly relatable for me, and why my songwriting talent does not exist.
