Tell me a
Chatterbox: Down to Earth
Tell me a
Tell me a bit about you!
A lot of new CBers have joined recently, and what with my increased business in life and absence from CB (sadly), I haven't gotten a chance to know a lot of the new faces- some of the old faces too, even. And I really do! I really want to be able to connect with everyone on CB. So, here's a thead where you can tell me something about you that'd help bonds, with everyone in general. :)
Here's even a few questions you could answer! Not by any means a rigid format but rather a suggested prompt.
1. Who's in your family? What are they like?
2. What's your favorite hobby, or thing to do in your free time?
3. Favorite book? Author?
4.Tell me about the time when you met your best friend/someone you care about. :)
5. What's your favorite food?
6. Where do you live (country, area, etc. Nothing specific)?
My answers (to help you get to know me!):
1. Who's in your family? What are they like?
I have my mom, my dad, one sister, and my dog, Dex. My mom is a manager at an insurance company, but she used to be an artist and designer for Hallmark card company. She's a really good painter and still does dog portraits commissions in her spare time. My dad is a mechanical engineer at Black and Veatch, and he got his Master's Degree just a year or two ago. He knows a lot about math and science and that's probably where I get mine from. :) My sister is younger than me, 9 years old. She's really into fashion, drawing, and designing, and she's actually pretty good at it. My dog's name is Dex, and he's a Catahoula Leopard Hound (look them up- adorable!). We got him in 2015--two years ago, can you believe it??--and he's totally crazy but we love him anyways. <3
2. What's your favorite hobby, or thing to do in your free time?
Either reading or drawing, or writing. I've been super in drawing lately, probably because I got back into the Warriors series in December, and I think I've massively improved from last year.
3. Favorite book? Author?
Oh shoot, my favorite book is from the Wereworld series, though I doubt anyone has read it. Booky 5 or 6, one of the two. My favorite author, though, is probably JK Rowling or Tui T. Sutherland! I love them both!
4.Tell me about the time when you met your best friend/someone you care about. :)
This is kind of a funny story! She came to my school in 3rd grade as she'd moved earlier that year, and when we first met- we absoltutely each other! I wouldn't talk to her and vice versa, and then in 5th grade, for some reason we just suddenly were okay. My group of friends kinda formed in that year, and she happened to be in it. I went over to her house a ton, and we eventually became really close!
5. What's your favorite food?
6. Where do you live (country, area, etc. Nothing specific)?
I look forwards to reading all of your answers and learning about you guys! Admins can even answer a few if they like. :D

1. Who's in your family? What are they like?
A lot of nutty people. They're all relatively loud, rambunctious, hot headed, and we're all basically a lot of nerds.
2. What's your favorite hobby, or thing to do in your free time?
Writing, reading, dancing, and photography mostly. Crafting when I can get my hands on anything I'm able to make. I love to have projects to keep me busy.
3. Favorite book? Author?
My favorite book of all time is Anne of Green Gables by Lucy Maud Montgomery. My favorite authors though tie for L.M. Montgomery, Shannon Messenger, Ann Rinaldi, and Louisa May Alcott.
4.Tell me about the time when you met your best friend/someone you care about.
I actually met my best friend right here on the chatterbox. Teresa, for those of you old enough to remember her. We started out doing a round robin here. Then we both were in the same cabin for Camp NaNoWriMo. Through that we started messaging regularly, and our messages kept getting longer and longer, andthere were tons of them going at a time on different sites. After about a year or so of that, we agreed to finally skype each other. Since then I think I can count on both hands the number of days we've without talking. We talk for hours every day, skype regularly, and plan on meeting some day soon. I've never been closer to anything than I am her.
5. What's your favorite food?
I hate these questions, I love food too much. I guess... cheesecake, or fried chicken.
6. Where do you live?
In America, down in Dixie. I'm a diehard southerner.
(March 22, 2017 - 4:02 pm)
Awesome...southerners unite! :D
(March 25, 2017 - 5:26 pm)
Hey BHR! I've always thought of you as one of the really cool old CBers, one of the ones who was only *prophecised* about when I first came on. Weeell, maybe not prophecised, but definitely talked about. :)
What kind of projects do you do? I hate to say that I've got terrible sticking-to-it skills, so unless I make a checklist I can never stay on topic. Crafting's really cool though! My little sister used to do a lot of it. And I've met a lot of great people online! Some people say that no one on the internet is really real, but I tend to disagree, as behind every screen there's a person. I've met some of my best friends online.
(March 26, 2017 - 10:33 pm)
@ Inktail: Yes! *high fives*
@Clouded Leopard: Aw thank you, that's very sweet! I'm not able to be on here as much so sadly I don't know most of y'all very well. I do whatever kind of projects I can get my hands on to keep me busy, really. I like crafts best, but I also do sewing and patching for family, going through paperwork and filing and organizing, working on writing and blog posts for specific topics and themes either I feel led to write or on request, working on building a genealogy portfolio for a relative based on what I've found on personal documents and on Ancestry.com, even yard work and such, and then just craft projects of things I can make from stuff I find around my house. A lot of my crafts involve either sewing (though I can't follow a pattern to save my life), or jewelry making since I took a class from a craft school once on metal works. I've only managed to keep up basic skills from the class but I like putting them to use and designing cosplays and such whenever I can.
Same! Yeah they do, which I understand but I also tend to disagree with. Teresa and I have been close friends for some time now, and either after or possibly through college at some point, the two of us have talked about sharing an apartment to split costs. I'm also really good friends with Violet (I think she went by Misti for a bit there at the end) and we've even met in person before. So I totally back up that internet friends are just as real as the ones you see daily.

I have a totally awesome shirt that says "Watch out for Texas"
Sorry. I know that was kinda random.
(March 28, 2017 - 12:22 pm)
My Family: I have a younger (10 year old) brother, who is crazy and often annoying, but I love anyway. He likes making board games and drawing ski mountain ideas. He's my ony sibling, and I also have my mom and dad. My mom works from home and she's some kind of editor, but not for a magazine or newspaper or anything. My dad works at a software company nd he travels to New York City a lot for work. I also have my adorable puppy, named Lucy. She's super hyper and she always wants to play.
Favorite hobby: Well I obviously love readding, I sometimes like to write, I love all kinds of art and crafts. I also love playing softball, sskiing, and taking rock climbing classes. I recently realized that I love baking too.
Favorite book/author: Ah! The impossible question! Umm... lets see. I love Escape from Mr. Lemoncello's library, and books by Stuart Gibbs are amazing, but the list of my favorite books goes on and on and on and on and on...........
When I first met my best friend: I actually don't remember when I became friends with my best friend. I'm pretty sure it was between the end of 2nd grade and the beginning of 3rd. My best friend (before the girl I'm best friends with today) had just moved to India, and I was heartbroken. I had been riding the bus with my other friend for as long as I had gone to school, and the girl that I'm best friends with now also rode my bus. I think I had known her before from riding the bus with her, but had never been in a class with her. I think we became friends by sitting together after my other friend moved away, and to this day we are best friends. Also, to this day we have never ever been in the same class, and I'm in 7th grade now. I don't have a single class with her in middle school. :( (besides band)
Favorite food: Hmm... That's a hard question. Does ice cream count? I'll eatmost foods, but I don't like a lot of cheeses, especially ricotta. I don't like lasanga or ravioli because of that.
General Location: I live in Eastern Massachusetts.

1. Who's in your family? What are they like?
I'm an only child (although I've always wanted an older sibling), and unfortunately, I don't have any pets, although my mom says we can maybe get a goldendoodle/labradoodle! My mom's an accountant, and she's a really, really good artist and does typography stuff in her free time. My dad works at CBS, and he's really into computer programming (and trying to get me into it!)
2. What's your favorite hobby, or thing to do in your free time?
I love drawing, and I have an amazing art teacher at school who's teaching me about anatomy. I also love reading, and writing, of course!
3. Favorite book? Author?
Hmm, difficult. . . I guess I don't really have a favorite book or author, but I'm a HUGE fan of YA novels. If I listed them all, it would take forever!
4.Tell me about the time when you met your best friend/someone you care about. :)
I met my best friend when I was two, at a preschool open house :) According to my mom, we spent the entire time in the play kitchen, then afterward, our parents took us to get strawberry ice cream cones :)

1. Who's in your family? What are they like?
I have three brothers, two are younger, one is older. They can be annoying sometimes, but they're familly. We have a cat named Olive, and a dog named Kayla, who don't exactly get along so well.
2. What's your favorite hobby, or thing to do in your free time?
Probably play video games. I likes to play videogames, but I have recently discovered some good anime. What I really like to do, though is take walks. not really anywhere in particular, just a walk. Sadly I don't live in an area where ther's a lot of good hiking trails around.
3. Favorite book? Author?
Jeez, do I have to pick one? If I had to pick one... well, I couldn't and my brain would most likely explode from indesision.
4.Tell me about the time when you met your best friend/someone you care about.
Well, I moved around a lot, so I haven't exactly had a lifelong freind or anything. As for having a best freind, I don't want to think of people as 'best' or 'not best' I think that if they're your friend, then they are, so I can't really answer this question. Sorry!
5. What's your favorite food?
YUMMY, DELICIOUS SPAGETTI!!!!!!! I loooooove pasta of all kinds. Lasagna, spagetti, ramen, I love 'em all! I also like seafood (especially crab, even though I've only had it once) and Tex-Mex.
6. Where do you live (country, area, etc. Nothing specific)?
I live in Georgia (U.S, not Europe), but don't like football or sweet tea, and I can't do a southern accent. Go figure. I'm half Canadian (which is probably why I say 'soory!' so much).
(March 24, 2017 - 3:35 pm)
Whoohoo! Southerners! XD :)
I love reading all the answers!
(March 25, 2017 - 5:30 pm)
1) Who's in your family? What are they like?
I have a mom, dad, and older sister. My sister is... very teenagery, and we don't always get along, but I like to think that most of the time we do. She introduced me to a lot of fandoms that I'm now into. My dad is pretty relaxed, but horrible at explaining things, and likes to tease people, sort of, and he never lets you forget anything. He's really smart, but his patience wears thin quickly. My mom is energetic when she has slept enough, because most of the time she hasn't, and she's always falling asleep. She is often very stressed out because of her job, and that sometimes makes her irritable.
2) What's your favorite hobby/thing to do in your free time?
I like reading while drinking tea, playing piano, and biking.
3) Favorite book and author
Definetly J.K Rowling. My favorite book is Harry Potter and the Philospher's Stone.
4) Time you met your best friend.
I don't really have a best friend, because I feel uncomfortable choosing between my friends to be my favorite. I have a few closer friends though.
5)Favorite food
Brigadedos (a chewy, Brazilian chocolate thingy)
6) Where do you live.
Florida
(March 25, 2017 - 4:17 pm)
Coolio!
1. Who is in your family? What are they like?
I'm not too comfortable sharing too much, but I will say I have a stern mom, a dozing dad, a annoying brother, and me. :P
2. What's your favorite hobby, or thing to do in your free time?
I could answer this question if y out tell me one thing.
WHAT IS FREE TIME?!?! I play the violin, I homeschool, I Irish dance, I love to read, do crafts, swim, computer code, draw, write,...oh there's so much!
3. Favorite book? Author?
Seriously. I hope you mean at the moment, because overall cannot happen! XD At the moment, I think it may be Warriors by Erin Hunter.
4. Tell me about the time you met your best friend/someone you care about.
Well, two of my best friends and I started dance at the same time, and instantly bonded. Well, that's not entirely true. I got along with my friend who will remain named X immediently, but we fought and didn't talk to each other for about a month. At that point, I became friends with my other friend, let's say Y, who at first I found annoying. She is eternally optimistic, always excited, always peppy, and always happy. X and I made up, and we became friends all of us. Then the next semester came, and Z joined the stuidp. I found her nice, but X didn't. So we were friends together, and eventually, X and Y came to like her. So now, it's X, Y, Z and I!
5. What's your favorite food?
I can't decide. Probably pizza. Or chocolate. Or steak. Or chicken.
6. Where do you live?
Louisiana, USA.
(March 25, 2017 - 5:20 pm)
1. Who's in your family? What are they like?
My dad, my mom, me, my little sister, my little brother, my big sister, and my big brother, as well as my bird and my dog. ADVICE: If you're an only child, TRY TO STAY that way. My older siblings are in college in NY, so we don't see them that much. My brother is 11 months old, so he can't talk/be annoying yet. My sister, however, is a different story.
2. What's your favorite hobby, or thing to do in your free time?
I like to read all sorts of books, write, go on the CB, and sail. That's where I got the idea for my AE Anna. I am in Champ fleet and sail for Rhode Island Opti Team and Saunderstown Yacht Club.
3. Favorite book? Author?
WHY???? Too hard..... :S
4.Tell me about the time when you met your best friend/someone you care about.

5. What's your favorite food?
Um.. Feranzipan! It's like this kind of fruit salad that my dod made up the name of.
6. Where do you live (country, area, etc. Nothing specific)?
I live in southern Rhode Island, USA.
