GIRL DISCRIMINATION.

Chatterbox: Down to Earth

GIRL DISCRIMINATION.

GIRL DISCRIMINATION.

So, I need to rant this somewhere. Seriously, this has been in my mind for a bit.

WHY DOES EVERYONE I MEET THINK THAT I'M NOT REALLY SMART? Okay, I make my mistakes, but whenever I point something out or try to join a conversation with boys, they either ignore me or tell me to go away. Sometimes I REALLY wish I was a boy. Then I wouldn't have to pretend to be someone else.

I do this camp called 'tech camp', where you get to learn how to do...well... techy stuff. The camp is divided into classes, and the one I'm taking right now (where we learn how to use a 3D program called unreal) I'm the only girl. And whenever I try to be friendly with the boys, they always gradually move away.

Anyone else want to rant? Any help?

Ok sorry I lost it.

I don't really think the discrimination has to do with smartness. Just strength and all. And for me, "girl sports." How does throwning around a ball and throwing a fit if you don't catch it make you somehow stronger and better???? It doesn't. But so called "girl sports" (dancing, swimming, gymnastics) are actually useful. I'm stronger then pretty much all the boys I know thanks to gymnastics. Famous quote "If gymnastics was easy it would be called football."

Heck Yeah!!!  How many boys do you know who can survive one of my 15 minute pointe classes? (I do ballet and I just got on pointe in Feb. so I only do 15 min but I know girls my age who do the hour classes.)

p.s.  Another + of pointe shoes: they make good things to smack people with.

Yes! Yes! I agree with you balletandbow! I'm a ballerina too, and I HATE it when people think ballet isn't a sport or is babyish. IT'S TRUE EXERCISE PEOPLE! My dance friends and I used to fantasize about wearing our pointe shoes to school and when some ignorant boy teases, demonstrate a grand batema and "accidentially" bloody his nose. Ookz says umgg. Uggs? You think uggs would be better for that

Erm, l would just like to point out that all boys aren't mean and rude.

l don't want to anger anyone, but the way everyone writes is that boys think they're better and stronger than girls. NOT TRUE.

Boys can be nice people. l'm sorry if you think that they can't. Girls aren't better than boys. Boys aren't better than girls.

So please don't think that every boy is just a mean jerk.  And l sure hope that no one gets mad at me.

I mostly agree with you Phantom, and I'm a girl.

Most of the boys in my grade aren't mean jerks. At least not to me. I'm not sure how many of them would say I'm their friend, but they're nice to me.

@St. Owl-  I agree about softball and baseball. I hate how softball is thought of as a girl's sport. I've never played baseball but I really want to this Spring. I played softball this past year because I had never played baseball and didn't think it would be good to start now, when everyone else has more experience than me. But they're two completely different games. I feel like softball is baseball taken down a few skill levels so that it's "easy enough for girls." I told one of the boys in my class about this, and he actually encouraged me to play baseball and told me that even if I wasn't that good, there would be a few boys that I would definitely be better than. That was when I really decided that I definitely wanted to do baseball.

There are a lot of times where I would like to be thought of as a tomboy, or a girl who is just as good as the boys, and I think there are some times where I am. I hope that I can make that happen more often.

So, I think I'll continue my rant.

All of you fellahs have the same problem... Except in a different way. I'm pretty sure I'm the only girl nerd on Cricket, so... Woop woop!

Anyways.... Yes, boys can be nice. Especially the ones who have the same interests as me. However, I think they just don't understand how much I can know. You are nice boys, and I'm very glad I can talk to you fellahs... But I like to be treated as an equal.

I think I should cease my typing before someone gets offended.

I'm sorry? The only girl nerd? I may not love technology, but there are differrent kinds of nerds. And I am totally a nerd. All the way through. I'm just more of an English and History nerd. I read classics 24/7, read the History textbook for fun, etc., etc. I can list more reasons. But trust me, you are NOT the only nerd. No way.

(COUGHS LOUDLY)

Danie.... I'm such a nerd it's not even funny.

I hate it when you guys say "Ugh! I wish I was a BOY!"

Are you really giving up THAT EASILY? Be proud of yourselves.

EXCHANGE IN THEATER CLASS:

Me: Sir? Can I switch spots? I feel a little crowded.

Obnoxious Boy Who Makes Me Glad I'm Not Male:  (insert extremely obnoxious voice) Stop calling everyong Sir and Ma'am.

Me: Sorry, I was just raised that way. It's polite either way.

OBWMMGINM: You sound stupid.

Me: Yes, well I was taught that saying "Sir" and "Ma'am" was polite.

My thoughts: Unlike you.

OBWMMGINM: Saying Mr.(insert my teacher's name here) isn't as stupid.

Me: It doesn't mat-

OBWMMGINM: (imitates me in an obnoxiously high pitched voice) Sir? Si-ir?

Other OBWMMGINM: LOL

Awesome Female Human: (insert boy's name here). Shut up.

(we high five and the teacher bursts into laughter.)

Plenty of boys are idiots.

(teacher voice) I'm ashamed of you all! Females rule!

Boys are divided into three categories.

1. Idiots.

2. Jerks.

3. AWESOMESAUCE. :3

Every boy on the CB falls into category 3. My two best friends are category three boys.

So, there are lots of AWESOMESAUCE boys. The thing is, there are also boys that are either idiots or jerks.
