Common Core needs to die. It just does.

I hate it so much. Just. . . everything about it is so wrong, and for the life of me I cannot understand how it was passed!

I hate common core!!!

It's like, x-2= 4. Even a 2nd grader could easily know x= 6. But of course, here in fifth grade, they make us find the inverse operation, do the scratch work, check, and explain. Like what. And I swear it like, makes all the kids in my class not as smart. The teachers like, "Who knows what an exponent is?" and I'm the only one who raises her hand! We learned this last year! Everyone should know this!!!!! Ugh!

Yes! Yesyesyesyesyes!

WE LEARN THE MULTIPLICATION TABLES IN THIRD GRADE!!!!! ARE THEY NUTS?????

WE SHOULD HAVE LEARNED ADDING FRACTIONS WITH DIFFERENT DENOMINATORS IN SECOND! AND MULTIPLICATION IN FIRST AT LEAST! COMMON CORE THINKS WE'RE IDIOTS!

But wait...

We aren't going to get what we want if we just yell...

We've done the Bill of Rights in class and Amendment 1 clearly states that we have the right to address "the government for a redress of grievances" and assemble peacefully, right?

And flashmobs are usually organized over the internet, right?

And CB is part of the internet, RIGHT?

AND WE ALL KNOW WHERE WASHINGTON, D.C. IS, RIGHT???

So let's all go to Washington, D.C. with signs and PEACEFULLY PROTEST COMMON CORE!

And for irony's sake, let's do it on the Fourth of July, otherwise known as INDEPENDENCE DAY to DECLARE INDEPENDENCE from Common Core!

WHO'S WITH ME??

Young Writer here.

Problem. Parental figures. I would love to do this but just don't know if I can convince my parents.

I was in accelerated programs, so we did fifth grade math in fourth grade. We had to do the exact same thing as well in fourth grade, and I too complained about how stupid it was. That was six years ago, so it's not a Common Core issue.

I'm out of reach of Common Core now, so I don't know what it does to your curriculum. Someone want to give me some examples?

Hey, I'm not complaining. SAT training books and tutors are very expesnive. For poorer kids like me, getting into college is hard. Any chance I can get to get into college, I'm taking.

l don't know exactly how bad Common Core is, because l've been homeschooled all my life, but l'm guessing it's pretty bad.

"No longer about getting the right answer, it's about how you get it and how you explain it."

^Something my teacher said

GAHHHH

Okay, so in math recently, we were learning function tables, okay? And the rule was 2X=Y and she made us spend 20 minutes doing all these unneccassary steps to get it. Like, we had to use the rule three times before it was a pattern, and then we could finally have figured out the rule.

*shakes fist at Common Core*
