Continued from the other post: It was getting WAY too long. Now: as I was saaaaying, I'm not trying to bicker, Im trying to help clear up the lie (evolution) that the government is trying to teach us. You know, it used to be illegal for evolution to be taught as fact in public schools. Now, a teacher can be fired for presenting both sides of the argument, for and against.

THERE IS NO ARGUMENT! SCIENTISTS HAVE FOUND PROOF FOR EVER THING ABOUT IT!

Speaking of scientists, no one has mentioned Darwin.  Except for me and that got put all the way down at the bottom of the page.  Emily, what about Darwin?  Everyone thought he was crazy, but he was PROVED RIGHT.  Many times.

About the discussion of Genesis on the other post.  Emily, evolution does NOT say that ancient=primitive.  Evolution says that humans evolved from apes.  Apes are very smart.

TMFA, that just proves my point.  The people who wrote Genesis (whoever they were) were NOT there for Creation.  So how did they know what happened?

And I AM a Christian and 2 of my grandparents are ministers in the Presbyterian church.

Moses wrote Genesis and God told him what to write!!!!  How can you be a Christian and believe in evolution?????

No one knows who really wrote Genesis.  It could have been Moses, in that case God did tell him what to write but maybe he garbled it.  Maybe God sent visions or something.  And maybe he decided to make it more interesting.

And I guess I'm not fully a Christian.  I'm 1/4 Jewish.  But they still use the Old Testament and their name for it is the Torah.  And, both my parents are scientists and I want to be a geologist or palientologist, and palientology pretty much means believing in evolution.

Hannah, that is where we differ. I beleive that the account of creation was given by God, to Moses, on the top of mout Siani.

It's just a matter of time before Evolution is thrown in the trash bag of ideas that used to be called scientific fact. Before ultrasounds were invented, they thought unborn infants repeated the stages of Evolution as they developed. Now that theory is falsified. In medeival times, they thought that rats came from garbage, and mice came from stored grain. That was observed SCIENTIFIC FACT. Now we know that mice and rats come from parent mice and rats. And to your comment later on: Just because the Earth is a "closed system" doesn't mean entropy doesn't apply. But Evolution insists the Earth is getting better and more advanced.

Before ultrasounds, scientists made hypotheses and waited for better tools to test them with. (e.g., ultrasound, radiocarbon dating)

Science is about coming up with a theory and trying to disprove it by testing it.

In medieval times, there was no scientific method used to test theories. If there were, perhaps there would have been no witch burnings, but instead, people blindly followed the church and superstition. The theory that rats came from garbage was disproven by science, never proven. How can you observe rats spontaneously coming from garbage?

but what if god out those things for humans to find so that he could seperate the loyal followers from the confused masses

So you're saying that the loyal followers will believe anything that they're told, while the confused masses are the ones examining the world? If I were god, I'd rather spend an eternity with the interesting ones.

Hey, everybuggy, there's another new space for this argument on the Down to Earth page.  I think it's at the bottom but I'm not sure.

If scientists have found proof for everything about evolution, where is the proof? Do you have any references for further reading?

Try any work by Darwin, or to start off, let's go simply to peppered moths. Just research Peppered Moths.

Evolution is not a lie!  And the government has better things to do than "brainwarp" us (there is a war going on!).  I think it's wrong for teachers to be fired by presenting both sides, this is a great argument that makes kids think!  Not only was evolution once illegal for school, so was gravity and the earth going around the sun!  After time both of those were proven true (even though churches said they went against the bible!) I think saying anything is a lie or can be proven false is wrong.  Everything spoken here deals with belief and THEORY. For some people (including myself) the bible is only theory too, it was written six thousand years ago and many facts were changed in the different versions. I'm not trying to be rude just get my point across. Science has shown that evolution is POSSIBLE (and likely).  This doesn't rule out God or creation it just says that animals change over time.  Why would scientists who spend their whole life studying these things so we can better understand them lie to us? It makes no sense.

Show me evidence, outside of the bible, to prove your theory.
