Admin Q&A quiz!
This is where we post questions that we would like the Admins to answer. Please remember to be courteous, and not act like this: "ADMIN WERE IS MY POST THAT I POSTED 2 DAYS AGO?!?!??!" Thank you.
Here are my questions:
How often do you actually get posts that have to be deleted? And...
Admin: Not often at all. Maybe 5 a year. More often we may delete a few words or sentences that sound a bit rude or in appropriate. But even that might be only once a week or less often.
How do you delete/accept posts? Is there a button you hit, or do you have to do something fancy, like make some HTML?
Admin: We look at the comments screen, set up by our Webmaster. First we read the whole comment, which may take a few minutes if it's long. Then we click a buttton labeled Publish and then Submit. That part is fast. That's it!

P. S. Admins, if you think that this will be a lot of work and bother, then delete it. However, if you think it might be nice to have something to do besides accept posts, then accept it!

That's great, Admin! You do a fantastic job! Your comments make me smile and sometimes laugh, too! Glad you enjoy it all!

Do you ever go on vacation? And if so, where do you like going?
Yes, we Admins all go on vacation every so often. My family and I usually go to a peaceful lakeside cottage in Wisconsin. But we've also had two awesome trips out west, which we loved. One trip was to Colorado and Utah and the other to South Dakota and Wyoming. We enjoyed seeing such a beautiful varety of scenery and wildlife.

Ooh, Colorado and Wyoming! I've ALWAYS wanted to go to those states. I've also wanted to go to Idaho, Montana, Oregon, and Alaska.

Hey, I was just in Door County last month! :D It's a really nice & pretty place. :)
Yes, we love it! You can just enjoy the beautiful outdoors. But there are lots of activities, too, if you're interested. For evening entertainment, my #1 recommendation is the American Folklore Theatre. They perform original musical shows out in the woods of Peninsula State Park. The shows are suitable for the whole family and always excellent!

Admin, do you see just the post being submitted, or do you also see the thread/post it's responding to?
We just see the comment/post submitted. There is a way we can track what it's responding to, but that takes extra time, so we don't usually do it, unless we really need to to help determine the meaning of a new comment. Good question!

Thanks for asking that question, Allison! I was wondering the same thing! :)

Weeell...
Admins, I have a question.
I want to post a thread on Blab about books. The issue is that it is a warriors thread. But it is NOT an RP, and I am fairly sure that there is nothing like it anywhere on BAB.
Can I post it now, or should I not?
Go ahead and post it, unless you think it should be on Inkwell!

Hi, um... *takes off sunglasses*
Oh, yeah. Now I can see. Okay.
Admin Question:
Well 3 Q's:
1. Am I funny, or am I funny?
2. How are the threads organized, because I lost my thread and my bestie's thread in the abyss of the Inkwell?
3. What do people mean if they say 'To the bottom/top?'
Thanks!!!!!!!!
Spam Boy says drwt. Dr. White? Did you just rename yourself Spam Boy?
2. The threads are more random than organized. For some reason beyond our control, comments often go from the first page to the last page. And that brings us to
3. People may find a thread on a last or back page and submit a comment saying Top. Then when that comment is posted, the thread goes back to the first page. A good tip, if you can't find a recent thread that was on the front page, is to look on the last or one of the last pages for it.
1. I don't know you well enough yet to have an opinion on whether you're funny or not.
Admin
P.S. Yes, I know how to count. I just thought 2 and 3 were more important than 1 right now!

Sorry admin, that post was annoying. I'm seriously not that obnoxious normally.

oooooooo I have a question!!!!!! Admins, when you type a reply, do you change it to Italics or does it just come out that way??? Hmmmmm.........
Claire =D
We change it. See? We have non-italic powers, too! :)

Ooh, I like all your questions! This is a cool thread. I have a question for the Admin too:
When you fill out a "Add new Comment" box, like you did when you answered Leaf's question on the first page of this thread, do you then have to approve your own post? Or does it go straight to the public? (hope that makes sense)
Any Admin can approve his/her own comment. If we add it to a comment from a reader we are posting, it goes up as soon as we hit Submit. But if we log on as a regular reader and not as Admin, then any new comment we add goes into the list waiting to be approved. Capisc?

Ha, ha, I was wondering that too Mary Jo! :) Thanks for answering Admin!
(September 4, 2010 - 11:26 am)
What does capsic mean Admin?
Good question, Kat! I actually spelled it capisc, but I'm not sure there really is a spelling. I was trying to say what I've heard old Italians say when they mean "you know" or "do you understand?" It's pronounced ca-PEESH with a ? at the end. But I can't find it in my usual Italian dictionary. Spoken language often differs from the formal written language.
