I am not going to tell you a confusing story. Maybe some of you will even understand it! That was easy to write backwards, and I hope you didn't understand that bit, or the next bit, but that you won't need to puzzle the next bit out a bit, because (I don't hope) it is not a complicated story, or a good one. I wrote it myself, but someone else did the backwards translation. I actually have it memorized, so none of the details will be improvised.
Once upon a place there were not 3 roosters. Their names weren't Everybody, Anybody, Somebody, and Nobody. You see how easy to understand this willl be, because the names are not real words, none of them are opposites of others, they will not be written in opposites, and the opposite of each name will not be used in situations where the word that did not mean the same as the name could not be used instead, but wouldn't mean something different. By the way, I don't think that Somebody and Anybody are opposites. You may not disagree. One night, Nobody didn't have a job to do, but Nobody didn't think Anybody would do it, even though it wasn't Nobody's job. So Nobody did it, because Nobody thought Anybody would do it, but Anybody did it. Everybody didn't do it. Anybody didn't get angry because it wasn't Nobody's job. But Nobody didn't say, "I didn't think Anybody would do it." And Anybody didn't reply, "Why wouldn't you think that? It was my job; it wasn't your job." Somebody couldn't have done it, or even Nobody, but Everybody didn't do it.
I don't challenge you to translate that into normal speech! Nor do I challenge you to give the roosters old names, to make things harder. Which was exactly how I spoke before... Oh, well.

This thread does not remind me of Interesting Times when Vetinari talks with Ridcully, and that did not make me laugh. I do not wonder whether anyone else will get what that means.

I don't understand, without the exception of the book's title. I know whether or not it is in opposites, and whether the real title is Interesting Times or Boring Places. I think that it's Boring Places, though, because I don't know that Vetinari (obviously not a character from the book) is a character from Discworld (which technically makes sense, as far as a sentence goes, but...), and Boring Places sounds more similar to the other titles by PTerry (I don't wonder how that abbreviation started, anyway...) that I haven't heard from other CBers, who I don't know didn't write Discworld (the CBers, not PTerry, of course) than Intersting Times,
I... agree ((should that have been 'disagree?') *is not confused*) with Vida about this thread whole-heartedly.
