Marauders Era. HP

Chatterbox: Blab About Books

Harry Potter Roleplay Anyone?
Marauders Era. HP...

Marauders Era. HP Era is boring (IMHO) and I can get carried away with Next-Gen easily/I ship Scor/Rose strongly. :P

Anyways, there haven't been that many HPRPs in a while so I thought I'd make one. So, Maruaders Era or Tom Riddle Era? (Or shall we be AU and combine the two?)

Are you playing an OC or one of the people from The List?

I have dibs on Rita or Narcissa or Molly.

((Well as most of the planning seems to be finished and no one's gotten around to starting yet, I suppose I shall.))

*******

Platform Nine and Three Quarters was already bustling when Tom Riddle pushed his trunk through the barrier at half past ten. He felt his shoulders relax ever-so-slightly, as they always did whenever he left the muggle world. Tom hastened onto the train to find a compartment and changed into his black robes immediately. There was no sense in dressing like a stupid muggle for any longer than was made necessary by the bloody Statute of Secrecy.

Tom gave his robes a final twitch to ensure that they looked absolutely perfect, smirking a little as he pinned the shiny Head Boy badge onto his lapel. No doubt dear Professor Dumbledore had argued against the appointment, but as usual the man's inexplicable dislike for him would have done little to sway the rest of the administration.

Satisfied with his appearance, Tom maneuvered through the crowded corridors and back onto the platform. It was slow going, since it seemed that half the student body could think of nothing more exciting than waving at him. Some of the braver ones even dared to say "hello," a trend which had started early last year after it became common knowledge that Tom had earned a Special Award for Services to the School. Everyone, Tom supposed, wanted a taste of even that minor fame. He resisted the urge to roll his eyes, and instead scanned the throngs of students for the handful of people that he counted his friends. Or future servants, if it came to that.

As had become his habit whenever he contemplated his vaguely-outlined future plans, Tom fingered the large, rather clumsily made ring he'd acquired over the summer. A slight, devious smile appeared on his face, causing a nearby first year to eye him warily.

*******

((And that's that, I suppose.))

Can somebody direct to "Seventh Rhymes With..."? I was reading it a few years ago, and I never go around to finishing it, but I remember it was really good, and I can't find it. By the way, this stuff you guys write is amazing.

Assuming you mean part 11 of the old HPRP, it's here:

(because I totally have it bookmarked and stuff.)

and part 12 is here, although it's more of a villain discussion thing since the RP died pretty quickly:

@SC: Haven't heard of it, sorry. And thanks!

Okay, I'm taking Narcissa until Elizabeth M. decides whether she wants Rita or not. :)

Oh, and Narcissa has brown hair since most of the Blacks do. And in canon, all the Blacks except for Cissy and Andromeda (who had light brown hair) had black hair, so it's logical that Cissy has dark brown hair as well... and I reeaaalllyyyy love the Narcissa from The Death of Narcissa Black who orginally had hair darker than Andromeda's as well. Yup.

Narcissa Black sneered at the Muggles who dared oggle her in her bright yellow dress, red bathrobe, and black oxfords. They quickly turned away.

"Mother, why must we dress like those uncivilized Muggles?" Narcissa whined as they passed into Platform 9 3/4.

"Blame the International Statue of Wizarding Secrecy," Druella Black snapped. Narcissa rolled her eyes.

"Hiding our actual identities from those Muggles is just another reason to wipe. Them. Out," Cygnus Black stated through gritted teeth.

"Not here," Druella said. "It isn't the right time."

"It is the right time," Cygnus cried. Narcissa noticed that some people were beginning to stare at them.

"Cissy," Andromeda hissed, pulling on Narcissa's sleeve, "we should leave."

"But-"

"Now." Narcissa sighed and turned toward her parents who were still bickering.

"Bye, mum. Dad," she said quietly. Her parents didn't notice. Narcissa smiled sadly then walked onto the train, her trunk floating in front of her.

"I can't wait to get out of these Muggle things," Narcissa said coldly. Andromeda smiled slightly at her younger sister before going to one of the other compartments.

Narcissa began to walk down the aisle of the train carriage, looking for an empty compartment to change in. (Where do they change in canon?) Two carriages later, she finally found one and changed out of the hideous Muggle clothes. Narcissa breathed a sigh of relief as she put on her black pointed hat.

Yeah... That's all I could come up with right now. I this doesn't counteracts TNO(umlaut)'s post which I can't see right now. *fingers crossed* :P

@Olive: No you're good. Except... Bellatrix? Ach, no worries. re: Changing: I always assumed there were... bathrooms or something? Although in PS, I believe, Ron and Harry kicked Hermione out so they could change. So maybe it's whatever they feel is convenient? re: The Death of Narcissa Black: I looked it up despite your warning, and though it directly contradicts/spits in the face of a lot of notable pieces of my head!canon, it was amazing thank you for mentioning it. So... yeah I'm fine with Cissy having brown hair. I myself will probably end up being incredibly guilty of dragging in characterizations for Bellatrix (and possibly, to a lesser extent, Tom as well) from His Penumbra, which is amazing and fatastic and delicious and so, so disturbing.

*******

Bellatrix watched idly as her sisters scurried into the train. Honestly, if Cissy was that concerned about the staring she ought to have worn something less... colorful. Or, alternatively, her Hogwarts uniform without the robes, as Bellatrix had.

"...what we really need is a champion, someone to stand up and--"

"Not now, dear," Druella hissed, frantically trying to quiet her husband. Bellatrix rolled her eyes.

"At the very least we need a sensible Minister," she muttered. "Not this Bagnold pushover."

Cygnus shot her a very approving glance. "That's my girl," he said. Bellatrix smiled, catching a glimpse of him out of the corner of her eye as she did so. She veered sharply to the right, barely remembering to shout a good bye over her shoulder.

He was standing at the edge of the platform, looking bored as ever, surrounded by a tiny bubble of space despite the openly admiring stares several other students were giving him. There was, she noticed with little surprise as she approached, a shiny Head Boy badge pinned to his robes.

"Hello," she said, a bit breathlessly, as she drew closer to him.

Tom graced her with the tiniest of nods and said, "Hello."

Bellatrix felt weirdly as though she might faint, and hated herself for it. She'd thought she was finally over this... this stupidity, but apparently the holidays had worn down her resistance. "H- had a good summer?"

He shrugged. "As well as could be expected, I suppose. You?"

"Can't complain." It took far more effort than it should have to keep her voice even and her face blank, but Bellatrix managed it. She glanced at him, trying to gauge his reaction, but his infuriatingly omnipresent expression of smug indifference masked any real emotion.

They stood in silence for a moment, Bellatrix fidgeting despite her best efforts not to and Tom apparently immune to the increasingly painful awkwardness of the situation. He was still smirking ever so slightly and still not looking at her properly.

At last, unable to bear it any longer, Bellatrix said, "Who's the Head Girl? Anyone interesting?" Her voice came out rushed and unnaturally high, and Bellatrix bit down on the inside of her lip hard enough to draw blood. The metallic, salty taste of it filled her mouth and made her stomach churn for reasons entirely unrelated to nerves.

Disinterestedly, Tom said, "I do believe it's Minevra." He turned slightly away from her, scanning the crowd. "The Gryffindor with the affinity for cats."

"...oh."

*******

I know that isn't the ideal stopping place, but I haven't slept properly in ages and my brain hurts.

I'm going to take Myrtle. Has she already been killed? Or is she killed in that year? What year is she when she's killed?

@Elizabeth M.: Myrtle was already killed, since Tom opened the CoS in his fifth Year and he's in his seventh for this RP.

@TNÖ: I didn't put anything for Bellatrix because I knew you wanted to write her and I didn't want to make her do anything that you didn't want her to do. Oh, and I'm on Chapter 2 of His Penumbra right now. :D

Can't see Claire S.' comment right now. But if she isn't asking for Rita, can I have her and Cissy? Purty please?

re: His Penumbra: Isn't it amazing? and utterly creepy and... and sick. I love it so much.

@Claire S.: I actually don't know James' DOB by heart, but I do know a fair portion of the Black Family Tree (you can see where my priorities lie, right?) But, anyway, that's mostly because I've got a good memory for pointless details. I doubt you'd mess anything up, and of course you're welcome to join. Whether you do so as a canon character or an OC is entirely up to you.

I'm slightly afriad to join. I cower in fear at the knowledge you have. I bet you know what day of the week James was born from memory. Especally you TNO. I will totally probably mess this up. Can I make a character?

Ok, so here goes it.

Name: Felicity Nemez (pronounced Nehmez)

Year: 7th

Aperrance: Tall, lean, dirty blonde hair, length is a little past shoulders, very beautiful

House: Slytherin

Other: is, duh, obsessed with Tom. Not Bellatrix creepy, though.  (I did blonde hair because it seems like either you have to have to have black or white hair to be in Slytherin.) Thought she was going to be HG. Top of her classes. Not very popular though. Is a mudblood. Never would tell any one that though. How she was that and ended up in S, she has no idea. She does not belong in Slytherin. At all. Ever. I don't know if Tom (well, he doen't really like anybody, but you know, lets her exisit in his presence) You decide.
