Marauders Era. HP

Chatterbox: Blab About Books

Harry Potter Roleplay Anyone?
Marauders Era. HP...

Marauders Era. HP Era is boring (IMHO) and I can get carried away with Next-Gen easily/I ship Scor/Rose strongly. :P

Anyways, there haven't been that many HPRPs in a while so I thought I'd make one. So, Maruaders Era or Tom Riddle Era? (Or shall we be AU and combine the two?)

I'll join. I kind of vote more of for the Marauders rather than TMR though.

OK, nvm about that. I"ll definitely join.

So let's get this started, shall we? Who wants who, and who's making up OCs?

I respectfully request Tom and Bellatrix (who in my head!canon is a prefect unless anyone has any objections), because I'm obsessive and stuff. Probably won't bother with OCs myself because they always end up getting involved in a major plot point and then becoming UNSPEAKABLY BORING and I stop posting as them and it throws everyone else off. Yeah.

We'll also need someone for the following:

-Minevra McGonagall

-Molly Prewett

-Arthur Weasley

-Dolores Umbridge

-Lucius Malfoy

-Andromeda Black

-Narcissa Black

-Sirius Black

-James Potter

-Peter Pettigrew

-Remus Lupin

And it might be good to have someone be Myrtle (last name unknown, but my personal fanon for her is Martin) and Rita Skeeter, too.

I'm not doing any OCs, but I'd like to snag Minerva if it's okay with y'all.

We also need people for Lily and Sev.

I don't know how well I can play boys so I think I'll take a girl (though Sirius is tempting). I think I'll either take Rita, Myrtle or Andromeda. I have to read about them first...

I'd like to be Andromeda Black, if no one minds.  Actually, Andromeda is probably a lot older than both Narcissa and Bella, seeing as she has her daughter Tonks, who is in her 20s when HP meets her.  But that's if we're sticking to the details of the books.

I agree, Bellatrix is awesome.  And awesomely evil.

What about Lily Evans??  Also, Minerva McGonnigal is probably a lot older than TMR, but who cares...

Someone can be the younger Dumbledore, too?

Can I have Rita? If that's alright with Elizabeth M. If not, I'll take Molly or Narcissa *has inspiration from The Death of Narcissa Black: A Potion* * :)

@Amy G.: Bellatrix is older than Andromeda. Said so on the Black family tapestry. And McGonagall is a year older than Tom. She was born October 4, 1925 and Tom was born January 1, 1926. *nodnod*) And yes, we do need a Lily...

*tDoNBap is rather gruesome, so try not to google it...

Ooh! ZNZ, if you're writing Minerva, I found some interesting schtuff that said, "sometime as a young witch Minerva had fallen in love with a Muggle, which ended in heartbreak." -HP Wiki.

I don't know if that's actually true or not, but I think it came from Pottermore.

APC says hont. Hont? Honk? Are you learning to drive?

Yes, I'd heard that. I believe it's from Pottermore. Though I was thinking that would be once she had graduated Hogwarts and was in her twenties or thereabouts.

Oh yeah, so the Marauders are in their second Year? Therefore, for OCs, it's recommended that they be in their first, third, fourth, and/or fifth year? (There's one or less people in each of those years)

And because I'm really bored and would rather not write right now (I have Writer's Block), a little list-thingy: (oh, and there are six Prefects per house; two (a boy and a girl) per year. And the years are fifth-seventh)

Head Boy: Tom: Slytherin

Head Girl: Minerva: Gryffindor

Slytherin Prefects

Fifth Year: Lucius

Sixth: Bellatrix

Seventh: None.

Gryffindor Prefects

Fifth Year: None.

Sixth: Undecided. (What House is Umbridge in? And Rita? For Rita, I vote Ravenclaw (she learned how to become an Animagus on her own) or Gryffindor maybe)

Seventh: Molly and Arthur (???)

Ravenclaw

Fifth: N/A

Sixth: N/A

Seventh: N/A

Hufflepuff

Fifth: N/A

Sixth: N/A

Seventh: N/A

So we also need Prefects... and is Dumbledore teaching Transfig or still with Grindelwald? I forgot. (He defeated Grindy after Tom graduated though, so Grindy's still alive...)

We're going to need a lot of people.

We don't necessarily need a person for each prefect, though. Nor do we necessarily need one person for each era-appropriate important person, though it would be nice.

@Tiffany W.: We don't really need Prefects for all three Years and (four) houses. I just posted the post because I was bored and so no one would cross-Prefect (e.g. there are two sixth-year girl Prefects from Hufflepuff). Yeah... :)

So, um, for the RP, are we starting during the train ride or the Welcome Feast or at some completely different time? And Professor Penrose, not Dumbledore, is Headmaster, right? And is Dumbledore with Grindelwald still?

@Olive:  I went back and read that part about the Black family tapestry.  You're right, Bellatrix is definitely older than Andromeda.

Sorry, what is tDoNBap??

Professor Penrose is a character of TNO's imagination, I think : )  But if she hasn't got a copyright on him...anyway, Dippet would be headmaster, Dumbledore is probably the Transfiguration teacher.

It's hard to believe how obsessed with the series I am.  What can I tell you, it's good.

Oops. *headdesk* I meant Dippet when I said Penrose. Sorry.

tDoNBaP stands for The Death of Narcissa Black: A Potion. It was a fanfic but it was all painted, including the words, and it was really good and I like the Narcissa in it. But it was a bit gruesome in some parts...

And we're all obssessed with HP. :P

@Amy and Olive: Professor Pericles Penrose is indeed an OC of mine, invented for purposes of the Tom Riddle fic that I'm writing. And he's the Muggle Studies teacher/Deputy Headmaster in the fic, not the headmaster (that would be Dippet). [I'm... kind of a little bit flattered by the confusion though.] And, of course, I don't mind in the slightest if somebody wants to use him for this, too, so long as his physical appearance ("Tall and thin, he had a nose like a turnip and wild, greying brown hair which stuck out in all directions. Stranger still, he wore blindingly yellow robes and carried a blue briefcase." and "slightly bloodshot green eyes") and general personality (a trifle scatterbrained, stuffy, tendency to be condescending towards anyone under the age of thirty) remain intact.

For the rest of the professors, there's Slughorn for Potions, Dumbledore for Transfiguration, Merrythought for Defense, Kettleburn for Care of Magical Creatures, and Flitwick for Charms. And obviously Binns for History of Magic Those are all the canon ones, I think (in accordance with the teachers given for either TMR's time or the Marauders, anyway). As for Herbology, in my fic I used Lycoris Black (he was 34 in 1938. Because I totally have the Black Family Tree saved on my hard drive and stuff) and I'm rather fond of him, but of course we can use anyone. ((Seriously, though, I have an entire document called "important adults" which, among other things, includes a list of every. single. teacher. in Hogwarts at the time of Tom's enrollment [several of which I made up], so if anybody wants name ideas, I'm ready.))

Also, OT and @Amy again: I still say you should post the Bellatrix fanfic you mentioned. *nodnod* because I'm selfish and want to read it

back on topic and re: Starting: I vote the Platform. That's traditional. *nodnodnod*
