Chatterbox: Blab About Books
Book Club
I know there...
I know there used to be a book club in the Chatterbox, but I don't know if it's still up and running, so I decided to start another one. If it is still alive, then now there are two! If not, then this is a second chance for a Chatterbox book club to exist. :)
The last I heard, there was a group reading Treasure Island. But it was awhile ago (1 or 2 months?) and I don't remember seeing any comments beyond chapter 1 or 2.

I haven't read the first Penderwicks novel so I am not going to join this book club.

Wait, Choco! We still haven't decided if we are going to read The Penderwicks or not! I don't think the voting's over yet! Anyways, maybe we could read The Penderwicks first, and then read the second one. I wouldn't mind reading it again!

How about Dusssie? Has anyone else read that book? It is about the daughter of a gorgan, named after her aunt Medusa, (yes, THE Medusa) who wakes up one day to find that she has inherited the family curse. It's really good. Please let me know if anyone would like to read this book.

Now, that sounds really good! I will read that if we don't go with the Penderwicks. And Choco, I wouldn't mind reading the first book again, either!

Has anyone read or is interested in reading Hawksmaid by Kathryn Lasky? I just got it from the library and want to know if anyone else would like to read it. I love KL's other books so I'm very excited. :)

I read Hawksmaid and loved it. Best ending. I love all Kathryn Lasky's books, except I didn't get into the Guardians of Gahoole series. Did you read Memoirs of a Bookbat? That's my favorite.

I loved Hawksmaid! It was so well written, and the plot was really clever. In a way, it was kind of similar to Peter and the Starcatchers, telling about what happened before famous stories (Robin Hood and Peter Pan). I'm getting off topic here, aren't I? I vote for the second Penderwicks book, since I've already read Hawksmaid!

I guess, as I believe we can only vote once, that I'll vote for the second Penderwicks book, too!
