Chatterbox: Blab About Books

Harry Potter and the Methods of Rationality (A Fanfiction)
Read this. Now....

Read this. Now. It is brilliant, the most wonderful, hilarious fanfic I've ever read--not that I read many, but still! You can easily find it via Google; has anyone else read it? You need to if you haven't. It's basically what HP would have been like if Harry had been raised by loving, supportive scientists. I'm not sure if it's done being written yet, as I'm still reading it myself, but there's quite a lot there, and it was updated very recently. It's amazing. This version of Harry is quite possibly my favorite character ever, and he just happens to not only be amazingly awesome himself but to be so in such a way that he brings out all the most awesome qualities in McGonagall, Hermione, Neville, and many other characters who were awesome to begin with. Quirrel is awesome here, too. You must read this if you've read all 7 HP books, but if you haven't read them all, I strongly advise to wait until you finish them to read it, as it contains major spoilers for all seven books.

Chatterboxers, it's great that you can recommend favorite fanfictions, books, movies, songs, etc. to each other. Cricket is happy to be able to provide a place for you to do that. However, everyone should please remember that any of the suggested material should be appropriate for all our readers, even those as young as age 9. We trust you all to stick to that guideline, because we Admins don't have time to check everything out in detail before posting your comments. If we are in doubt, we will not post a comment. And if you happen to discover something inappropriate that has slipped through and been posted, please call it to our attention.

So enjoy the fanfic, but please keep the Chatterbox a site of high-quality literature for all!

I'm reading Chanson de Geste now, which is amazing and rated T. I also read all of Sarah121's HP fanfics and her fairy tale fanfic. I liked them all. I don't remember the ratings, but I know none of them were anything higher than T.

I know I'm probably the only one who still reads this, but I just  wanted to say that I just discovered the Sugar Quill, and its fanfiction is all wonderful. They're extremely devoted to canon, so no AUs are allowed (except those written pre-book 7, of course), and so far, most don't seem to be very long, and there are no ratings (though everything I've seen so far is appropriate), but everything's really well-written, and I highly recommend it.

Aetc says duod! I'm not sure if he's talking about the element duodenum or advocating the duodecimal system, but either way, he gets virtual cookies.

A Very Secret Diary was on Sugar Quill right? Oh, and MoR is fantastic and MoR!Quirrelmort is the best. :-)

I'm not sure whether A Very Secret Diary is on the Sugar Quill. That's not where I read it, but it could be there, too. I'll tell you if I ever see it there.

I know this thread died a while ago but... has anyone read any OTP (One True Pairing)-centred fics? Like a Ron/Hermione, Draco/Ginny, Harry/Hermione, etc.? I'm a Draco/Hermione also known as Dramione fan. A shameless one as well.
