Sky-

As we walked back the way we had come I began to wonder what Hephstus had ment when he said his sons and daughters would help Areena through the maze. I knew Areena was good with arcitecture and all, but correcting Hephstus, I was starting to think she was a lot braver than she apeared. I looked at Mason. He had been walking the whole way in silince. "Whats up?" I asked. He turned to me. "The sky, Sky." He said as if making a joke. I smiled.

RJ-

I stared at Ares daughter. She looked like she could kick major butt. Even though she was about 3 or 4 years younger than me, she still looked like someone you shouldn't mess with. "Whats, whats her name?" I asked. I was trying to keep cool. Ares was trying to mess with me. He was making me think of all the horrible things I had ever went through. I thought about Nyx giving me to some orphanage when I was just a week old, I saw my mortal brother trying to kill me, I saw the ice cream sundays at Friendlys that made me sick. Horrible things. He was trying to make me angry. I wasn't alowing that. I was the daughter of night herself, and my mom brought horror to others aswell. I wasn't going to let Ares get under my skin. "Daisy." He said. (ZB you can change the name if you want its your character. I just put that becasue I thoguht It'd be funny. This tuff girl called Daisy. What so you think?) I almost burst out laughing. "Daisy?" He nodded. "Hellow Daisy/ These are the other Ares kids. They'll take you to your cabin." I said pointing at the Ares campers. She looked mad at me. "I know what to do idiot." She said. Her voice was like a 40 year old pro wrestler. A guy. Anyway now she had insulted me. I wanted to smack the little brat. Even Ares looked a bit nervous. I couldn't figure out why until I heard Ares whisper something to Daisy. Something about me and Nyx. Then her eyes flashed, but she still looked like she was going to kill me, just without instulting me. I exchanged a glance with Sam. She nodded. I was going to talk to her after this.

Sam/

Great. Now there was yet another girl who wanted to pulverize me. "Come on," she said and started walking towards the forest. Most of the kids followed her, except those of us with a scrap of dignity left. You could tell everyone was scared of her. Who wouldn't be? But then again, they had acted the same with me, not my parentage, but with my look. Ya, some say I'm tough. They're probably right, but I don't like to have titles. It gives people ideas that they rule the world, just 'cause they have a sticker that says, 'I'm a STAR student!'.

Areena/

I continued through the Labyrinth. It was boring. Ya, a daughter of Athena, thinking about the most amazing piece of architecture and I was bored. Crazy, right? I know. I'm a disgrace. While I was thinking (as always) it felt like I ran into Hades. The person was dark with dirt, so he blended in with walls. He was wearing dark clothing and a baseball cap, but I still recognized him. "Steve?!" He jumped, but then hugged all of us. "Thank the gods! I've been here for, like, ever! I came in here looking for an automaton that's gone wild, and I got, well, lost..." I was glad to see him, but I was kind of embarrassed. When we saw him, I fell into him, and we were both blushing madly. "Well, I guess that you have to help us." "What do you mean?" "We just met your daddy, Areena corrected him, he got mad and said that you have to help us," Sky said.

ZB I'm going on a trip and won't be able to post until the 28th. Please keep this thread alive while I'm gone. I'll post on it first thing when I get back.

Sky-

Areena gave me a look that said shut up now! But why would I ever do that? I kept talking. "So are you going to help us or not?" I asked. "Well..." He didn't sound sure. I was so annoyed. "Well? Are you or are you not? Theres only one answer, pretty boy!" I glanced at Areena. Now she looked like as soon as I went to sleep she was going to murder me. I grinned. "All right," he said, looking at Areena. I smiled wider. I noticed that Mason was looking at me and grinning to. So was Adromida. In fact Adromida turned around and walked back about 20 feet. I grabbed Mason's arm and we followed. I looked back at Areena. Her expression was pleading and anger. Pure murderous anger.  I was trying so hard not to laugh. My hand slid into Mason's and we walked back to the place where Adromida was and didn't look at them. Areena and Steve needed to talk.

RJ-

I looked at Sam as everyone but those who had but a scrap of dignity left followed Daisy. I walked up to her. Ares grabbed my arm before I got there. "Look girl, you lay a hand on my little girl and you'll find that even if you're Nyx's daughter you will not be able to resist the horror of the visions. And if you know what's good for ya, you and that Achelous girl better stay out of the Oracle's way. I don't want you to get mixed up with that end of the world prophecy." I raised my eyebrow. He seemed to realize what he had just said and his eyes burned with the fire of pure hate. He grabbed my arm. "You look like your mother. Just don't forget to trust night not day. Day is always going to be your biggest enemy, daughter of Nyx." His mysterious words did not frighten me. "My NAME," I said yanking my arm away, "is RJ. And you don't scare me!" I whispered with the anger of night. He looked more serious than any god I had ever seen. "Watch what you say. One day you might find that my sword." He paused to pull out his sword and put it to my neck. "Might just slip out of my hand." With the last word he sliced my arm. Pain exploded in the spot he had cut. This wasn't normal pain, this was oh-my-gods-the-god-of-war-just-cut-my-arm-with-his-sword pain. Horrible pain. I did not flinch. I wasn't going to let Ares make a fool out of me. "Remember that day is your enemy, child of Nyx." And with that he was gone. He exploded into a shower of gold dust. I clutched my arm and Sam came over. "Are you ok?" she asked. "Ya," I managed, my voice cracking stiffly. "What did Ares say?" "He said that I should only trust night. That day was my enemy. Oh and another thing, he told me that we shouldn't mess around with that end-of-the-world prophecy."

Areena/

"Steve," I panted, still not believing that he was here. "So, are you helping us or not?" Andromeda said impatiently. "Well, I have no idea what you're talking about. But this might help." He pulled out a little box. "Don't open it. Whenever your'e in trouble, just push that button right there. It only works once, so use it wisely." He winked at me, and then sort of disappeared into the wall again. "Well," Mason said. "That was fun," he teased. "Oh shut up." I threw his hands up into surrender. I punched his gut when his hands were up. "Never stay unguarded. Especially with me." I smiled and walked into the distance.

Sam/

"What end-of-the-world prophecy?" RJ shrugged. "Well I think that I know what we have to do." "Oh, you mean what you need to do." We were talking about the Oracle. She had already had a prophecy, but I hadn't. "No, no, Sword-Arrow-Knife." She sighed, and we set up the game. It was the demigod version of Rock-Paper-Scissors. We pounded our hand three times. I used both of my hands to make 'D' shape, sort of like a bow and arrow.  RJ stuck her pointer finger up to make a sword. "Sword breaks Bow. Your turn." She smiled evilly. I shoved her into the grass, but reluctantly climbed the steps towards the attic.

Hey Areena! My mom let me use her computer so I can go on here. But not often.

Sky-

I laughed as Mason grabbed his gut and doubled over. "That was probubly a stupid idea, putting your hands up." i said. He nodded. "You have no idea." He croaked. I smiled devilishly. He grabbed my arm. "Come on, i think we missed Areena rant about steve." We both smiled, and he lead me over to the place where Adromida had created a fire. Areena smirked. I hadn't realised it, but while we were running Mason's hand had axcidentaly slipped into mine. I let go and plopped down next to him by the fire, egnoring Areena's gaze. "So, did Steve leave you a box of chocolates and flowers, or?" Mason asked. I laughed so loud I sware if Olympus really was watching they were getting a real treat. Plus it would be worth seeing the anger in Athena's face. I had never been a big fan of her. She was probubly the greatest goddess ever, but being her half-sister didn't exactly make us buddy-buddy. Areena was glaring at Mason, who was smiling at me. I was still laughing so hard I swear, my water flew out my nose. Eventualy I couldn't breath and i had to stop. But I was still smiling stupidly. "No!" Areena snapped. I was trying so hard not to laugh, even Posidan's army couldn't stop me from eventually cracking up. "What then?" Adromida asked. Areena examined the box. "Nothing much, just a box." "In the shape of a heart?" I asked pretending to cry. Mason burst out laughing. I was smiling, and I swear Areena looked like she was going to murder me. Which of course was a look I got often. Everyone I ever met gave me that face, and most of them had tried to kill me. I hopped I was safe here. "Shut-up." She said.

RJ-

I waited for Sam. I hopped she was all rite. I was seriously regreting sending her up there alone.  Soon I saw green smoke fall from the windows. I heard a scream, and I rushed up the steps. At the door a figure made out of green mist came up infront of me. "You will die! The two of you will die!" With that I fainted. When I woke up I was in the attic. Sam was bent over me, wrapping my leg in something. When I sat up I realised it was that doctor tape stuff that they wrapped wounds in. I groaned. "What happened? OW!" I screatched. Sam had put this anti-biotic stuff on my leg that was supposed to help clean it out, but gods it stung! "Hold still ya big baby." She muttered wiping it on my leg. For the first time I realised how athletic we both looked. We looked like we had ran and exsersised a lot. We must look like fugitives to any normal person. I looked at my leg. Something had seriously cut it. The cut was at least and inch wide, about 3 centimeters deep, and a foot and a half long. My whole leg was drenched in blood. I looked back at Sam. She looked horrible. There were gashes in her face. Her skin was pale. She looked like the ghost of a girl that had just faught in the Civil war. My cut looked like a paper cut compared to her. "What happened?" I asked.

Sam/

"Nothing, nothing!" I drenched her wound and patted it with some of this gauzy stuff that doctors use. The prophecy words still rang in my head. Three will go to find what's lost. The river will go to the final end, exhaust. Find what has been stolen but don't return. Come back but fail with what really matters. (I know that it doesn't rhyme, I tried, but I don't know how Ricky does it!) "Really, nothing happened!" She looked at me. I knew that I wasn't a good lier. And she knew it too. "Look. Sammy. I've known you even before we knew that we were, you know." She motioned to the keepsakes on the shelves. "Demigods. Half-Bloods. NOT NORMAL! So I therefor KNOW whenever you are lieing." I sighed. She made a point. Sadly. "Fine. I'll repeat the prophecy. But it isn't exactly the End-of-the-World type of thing. Chiron probably already has that." I repeated the prophecy. "Okay. Obviously you'll go and choose another person." She started to continue talking, but I cut her off. "Whoa whoa whoa. What do you mean 'Choose one more person'? I'm supposed to take you, RJ: Clutz, god ticker offer, one of the subjects of the end of the world prophecy? You're going to blow up the van before we even get downtown. You're going to have Ares' kids chasing us down until we reach New Jersey. And you'll already have a bunch of monsters after you." Ha. Now I made a point. "But I'm your best friend. And I'm not letting you go off all on your own with a bunch of other dudes while I'm stuck with Daisy." I cursed. Beaten again. "Fine. I'll tell Chiron. But first how are we going to get you down?" "I'll walk." She stood up, fell, and broke a container of pickled Harpie parts. "Ewww." I jumped back. "Come on. I'm helping you, just not touching you, okay?"

Areena/

"Well, for your information, he gave me a box, not in the shape of a heart, but a normal box, to help us find our way. But if you don't want it, I can just-" "No. We want it." Andromida cut me off. I tossed the box to Sky. She took it reluctantly. "Okay. I'm sorry that we got in the way of you and your little boyfriend." She started packing up to move on. "He's not, my boyfriend! We went out for, like, a year! And don't get me started on you and Mason!" She grabbed her sword and I drew mine. "Get over here, sister!" We began to duel furiousely. Andromida and Mason were too stunned to do anything. I ended up knocking the sword out of her hand. "Look. If you don't want me here, just say it." They didn't say anything. "Okay. I guess so." I walked off into to distance. They wouldn't care. Anyways, there's usually only three people on a quest. I would find a way out myself.

"We're going to die now," I said matter-of-factly.

Mason nodded. That earned him a murderous glare from Sky, who then sheathed her sword and walked to the end of the chamber. There she sat down. I sat down too and prodded the fire. I was getting tired but didn't go to sleep.

Then Mason turned into Hello Kitty and Sky started jugguling mini gold statues of liberty.

Yea, I was dreaming now. But I leaned back to watch anyway. It was pretty entertaining watching A fire-breathing anime chibi cat trying to blast gold statues of liberty out of the hands of a daughter of Zeus.

Areena/

Ya. Call me crazy. I just ditched my friends, wandered into the labyrinth, and now I'm chasing some monsters. Okay, I saw a flash of gold, a grunt, and hey, I'm curious! It turned out to be a golden deer. It started to glow, and I looked away. It was probably a goddess. Artemis. Actually it was a twelve year old auburn haired little girl with a Greek chiton, sandals, and a laurel wreath. "Lady Artemis? What are you doing here?" She walked up to me, touched my face, and stepped back. "I have a proposition to make." She set up a tent out of a little bag she carried. She stepped inside and I followed. There were animal pelts all over the "walls", and a hot, warm, fire in the center. "Look, Lady Artemis, I know what you're going to ask. And I'm honored and all, but-" She cut me off, and if it wasn't a goddess who did that, I would've been really mad. "Yes. I know that you have known about me recruiting demigods and mortals for the Hunters of Artemis. But please, just look at the brochure and think about it. I will return, Areena, daughter of Athena." She disappeared, so did everything else. Suddenly I was freezing cold, hungry, and really thinking about immortality being my cup of tea right now.

Sam/

I packed my stuff. I chose to go with RJ (She yet again, made a point.) and with a kid from Hephaestus, Marcus Finch, or something. I just know that he can make or break anything, and fight any monster with his pinky (Not kidding, it actually happened) RJ met up with me in front of the Poseidon Cabin. A few weeks ago Chiron made arrangements to make an Achelous Cabin later this summer. So today was the last day in Poseidon. RJ, me, and Marcus walked down the hill and towards the van. People were cleaning up from the Macy's Day Parade and there were mobs of people trying to get the best deals on Christmas Gifts. "Argus, you can just drop us off here. All of the meanies are probably shopping for there mothers." We snickered at my horrible joke and climbed out of the car.

Sky-

Adromida was asleep and Mason was sitting next to me. I wanted to cry, so I did. Probably stupid, then there was the fact that every god and goddess on Mount Olympus could see us, and what had just happened. I was furious with myself for making Areena leave. I cried some more. Mason held me in his arms and I put my head on his chest. I thought about all the stupid things that I'd done so far. But what topped the rest was Areena leaving. Eventually I stopped crying. Mason had fallen asleep and was resting his head on a backpack. I grabbed a water bottle, a chocolate-chip granola bar, and my sword and put them all in my belt. Then I left. I was going to find Areena. No matter if I died trying, I was going to. I followed a trail of blood from a cut on her hand that I'd given her. I didn't want to look at it because it reminded me of what I'd done, but I had to. I followed it until I stopped. I didn't know where I was, and I didn't know how to get back so I just pushed on. Eventually I came to a dead end at a wall. I looked around. It looked like no one had come this way so I turned around. I instantly regreted it. A growl came from behind me. I turned slowly to see a hell-hound the size of Texas behind me. I wanted to scream, but no noise was coming out of my mouth. I grabbed my sword and it lunged. I sliced and rolled trying desperatly to keep myself from being hurt. I'd heard nasty things about being hurt by a hell-hound. But stupidly I lowered my defense on my right shoulder, and I got bit. Pain seared through my arm. I hate hell-hounds. Just when it looked like that was it, like the prophecy was going to come true a little early, Areena of all people jumped out of nowhere and cut the stupid hound's head right off it's body. She stood there panting looking extremly pale, then she turned to me. "You all right?" she asked. "Feel like a million bucks," I muttered, clutching my arm and groaning. She sat next to me. "I really hate hell-hounds," I said. She laughed. It was good to hear her laugh. I was glad to hear it. "What made you come looking for me?" she asked. "What made you save my life?"

RJ-

I limped out of the van. I looked at Sam. "So, what now?" I asked. Utterly lost. All I knew was that if I could give the minotar the pain I was feeling in my leg right now, he'd never come back from Tartus.

Areena/

"Well, I heard the hell-hound and decided that no matter how much someone made me angry that no one should be left to die. Also, it wasn't a wise choice to wonder around alone." We walked back towards the camp site thing and I explained what I had done. I didn't tell anyone about  Artemis, I didn't even know what that was.

Sky-

I nodded. I was so thankful that Areena had come back, especially at that exact moment. I would have died had she not chosen to help me. My life had been in her hands, and probably only she, and maybe a few gods had known. "Areena, thank the gods you were where you were when you were," I said. She nodded. "I agree. And can we agree, no more teasing each other?" she asked. I nodded. "Sure." I was so happy I didn't even care about what she had said before. "Now, why did you come looking for me?" she asked. I shrugged. "Good question. I was mad at myself as soon as you left. My sense had been out-weighed by my pride. The fatal flaw for children of Zeus: Pride. I am too proud for my own good. I think I can do everything and anything, but I know I can't. I'm just too proud to admit it," I responded. Every word was painful. I had never shared this with anyone. Not even my mom. "You just did." Areena sounded sympathetic. I was glad about that. "When I got mad at you before for"--I cleared my throat very uncomfortably-- "for what you said, that was pride talking. Not me." I thought that was the best way I could state what I thought. It was better than nothing. Areena smiled, and for the first time on this mission, I wasn't scared.

RJ-

We walked for what seemed like hours. Sam had this crazy idea that if we walked around long enough some old cop or person would ask if we were lost and tell us where to go. Cause of course: we had absolutely NO idea where we needed to go, or how to get there. Yes, it was going to be a problem. "Sam, we've been walking around town for three hours! I think by now we need a new plan!" I shouted, annoyed, as we took our 10th lap around the bread place. She sighed. "I guess you're right. What else is there we can do?" she asked. "Well, I've been thinking about the prophecy, and I think I know where we're supposed to go." "Where?" Sam asked. I normally knew a lot because my mom was one of the oldest gods in history, and I had a photographic memory. "Three will go to find what's lost. The river will go to the final end, exhaust. Find what has been stolen but don't return. Come back but fail with what really matters. I think the river that will go to the final end is you, Sam." She looked at me like I'd just said I was going to kill Abe Lincoln. And he's dead. "What?" she asked almost laughing. "Your dad is the god of the river. That means you are the river. You can't deny it," I said. I could tell it was starting to make sense to her because she didn't have that what-are-you-talking-about look on her face anymore. It was more like a 'Oh! Now I get it!' type thing.

By the way ZB, please explain to me what this line means: The river will face the final end, exhaust. I never got that. I mean, I got the 'river' part. That's Sam, but what about the rest? What does the whole line mean?

submitted by NAME
(December 2, 2010 - 10:36 pm)

It's supposed to mean like she's going to die.

Sam/

Well. I hated when she made a point. "Fine. Mason (was that his name?), so you have an idea?" "Well,"--he started playing with some nuts--"why don't we just go to Olympus? Maybe the gods would help us?" We thought that it was a good idea, so we trudged up to the Empire State Building. As we were walking, I saw a taxi cab. There was an arm sticking out, like someone was trying to catch flies. We waited for it to pass, but the hand grabbed onto our shirts and dragged us away.

Areena/

"But, to tell you the truth, you and Mason are really cute together." She blushed and punched my arm. I punched hers, but by then Andromida was running up and hugging me. "Oh my gods, why did you go? I thought that you would never come back, gods. Sky, you look horribl--not the way you think you look awesome, but you look horrible." Her words rushed out like a million seconds.

Ok, I get that but what does the exhaust part mean?

Sky-

"Ya, I know." I said, laughing a little bit. Then pain shot through my arm. I yelled, and doubled over. "SKY!" I hears Mason and Areena yell. Adromida shreiked. Then it happened. I was having a weird vision. I was standing in a large white room with animal furs on the walls. Thats when I realised it wasn't a room it was a tent. Artemis tent actualy. I was sitting on a bench. I heard someone come in, but it wasn't Artemis. It was a hunter of Artemis. She put a burlap sack over my head and shoved me forward. I panted in pain as she pushed me out of the tent. "Little, agresive for a hunter of Artemis, don't you think?" I panted. The girl gripped my bitten arm a bit tight, and my eyes wattered. "Just get moving. Lady Artemis wants to talk to you." "Why me?" I asked. The girl stopped for a moment. "I have no idea." She said. "Then why are you attacking me like I'm a stupid fury or something?" She stepped on my toes. Whatever sort of shoes she wore they had a heel, and they hurt. "No names! Names are powerful." She warned. I rolled my eyes. I knew she couldn't see me, but I had a strage feeling she knew what I was doing. Suddenly she stopped, and pulled the bag off my head. Now I could see what she looked like. She had black hair, in a sort of punk-rock style, and sky blue eyes. "Thalia, bring her here." I heard a womans voice from inside annother tent. Thalia pushed me in. "Not so ruff." Artemis said. I turned through Thalia, she had an angry look in her eyes. I knew she had just been through something she was angry about. I would have tried to comfort her, but considering the fact that I was tied with my hands behind my back, and I was infront of Artemis, goddess of the hunt, I dicided agenst it. Besidse I don't think she would have liked it if I had tried to help her. "Untie her." Artemis said. While Thalia started to cut the ropes off my hands with a knife, Artemis asked, "What's your name?" I looked up at her. "Sky McBrown." All the hunters in the room with us gahsped, and stared at Thalia, who's knife slipped and cut my wrist. "Ouch!" The ropes had been undone, and I clutched my bleeding wrist. When I looked up Artemis alone did not look shoked. "Artemis you realise that-" A hunter with long silver hair was talking. "Yes I do realise, but I needed someone who knew her well." Thalia stepped up, "But she and I-" Artemis cut her off. "I know, you are both daughters of Zeus." My eyes flew from Artemis to Thalia and back, my mouth open. One of the hunters had just spotted my ripped jeans, and my fadded gray Hollister shirt. "Not very graceful is she?" The girl whispered to someone next to her. "Where does she get her clothes?" The other one whispered back. "I can hear you!" I shouted. They blushed a little, then went outside. "How?" I asked Artemis. She shook her head. "Not now. Right now we need you to deliver a message." I nodded unsure of what kind of message Artemis would need me to deliver, and why she couldn't use Hermese. "Tell Areena to hurry up with her awnser. Tell her I need it by sun-down tomarrow. If she wants to contact me just tell her to go to sleep while thinking about me." "But-" I never finished. I lifted my head and I was back in the labarynth with my friends. "What happpened?" "Are you ok?" The questions swirled in my head, I didn't care. I looked furiously at Areena. "I've just had a little chat with Artemis. She says she needs her answer by sundown tomarrow. She says to contact her all you need to do is fall asleep thinking about her." The anger in my voice was definately heard. I glared at Areena. Mason and Adromida were looking at me confused. I just continued to glare at Areena.

I started to cry. "Before you found me i-in the Labyrinth, Artemis, she, she came to me. And she wanted me to, to be a Hunter. A-And I've agreed." Artemis appeared, along with her hunters. "Hunters, set up camp." She walked towards a tent, turned around, obviously wanting me to follow her, and I did. Inside was a warm fire, and a golden deer. She sat down and changed into a young auburn-haired girl. "So, have you made your decision?" I gulped and sat down. "Yes. I'll join." She smiled like I was a deer that she just struck down. That was kinda creepy. "All right then. Repeat the oath." I did, and I changed clothing. I was wearing a white blouse and skinny jeans. I had a hunting knife and a bow around my shoulders. There was a glow around me, immortality. I heard a grunt outside, probably Sky. I walked out, and Andromeda came up to me. "So. I guess that you aren't finishing the quest." "Well, yeah. It was meant to be three, anyways."

Sky-

I stared at Areena, anger pulsing through me. "Why?" I asked. She was about to speak, but I cut her off. "What? Are we just not good enough for you? Are we not good enough to be your friends? Think about Steve if you don't care about us! Imagine how he'll feel!" Artemis's face was growing grave. I think she had known the whole time this was going to happen. "Sky--" Areena started. "Forget it." I said. "I'm obiously not good enough for you." With that I spun around and grabbed my sword. I put it in my pocket and turned around. I looked at Areena; she looked like a hunter. White blouse, and light skinny jeans. Her hair was perfect, and she was wearing some makeup. I thought about myself. I was just a normal teenager with long badly cut hair that fell in front of my face, giving me the look of a theif. Then there was the gray shirt, and the dark skinny jeans. I had known that from the moment I saw the hunters that they were much better at fashion than me. But I honestly did not care. I took one last long look at Areena, said "Come on, let's go" to Mason and Adromida, and we started to leave. Areena stopped us. "Sky, wait."

(I would have finished, but I was having writer's block. I hope what I wrote was ok.)
