Yes I am

Chatterbox: Blab About Books

Harry Potter
Yes I am...

Yes I am still in existance.  Just... ummm... I got nothing.  Anyway...

E. W. and I have started reading the Harry Potter series.  I'm a little over half-way done with the 1st book. Elizabeth was in the fourth book last time I checked (she started reading them a week ago.  I wonder if she even eats.).  So far it's really good!  It's right up there with the Inheritance series (no comments please)!  What do you guys think is the best book?  What house do you think you should be in.  I'm probably Hufflepuff.  I would've posted on the other Harry Potter blog but nobody would see my post because it's so crammed.

The first chapter, I think.

Yup!!!! I *HUGE HUGE SNIFFLE* just finished it. *SOBS* I've always thought the epilogue was sappy, though thankfully this time it wasn't as much so as the first. Of course, that could be majorly related to the fact that the first time I read it, every few words my concentration was punctured by my dad pestering me with questions about the books. He hadn't reread them yet, so anything I told him, like a quote, or an idea I had needed to be explained, sometimes all the way back to the first book. I prudently read in the living room this time, and didn't tell anyone but my brother how close I was to the end. They were rather surprised to hear I finished it. I knew I missed a lot the first time when I came across the final battle, because I thought it took place outside!!! I had no idea! :D Anyway, enough rambling!!! I'm off to watch The Little Princess (I ALWAYS thought it was A little princess, but apparently not...). We watched The Secret Garden last night, they came in a ten dollar set from the grocery store, or something....... Love those stories!!! Has anyone read the sequel to tLP by Hilary McKay?? It's really good..... Oh, never mind, I was right all along!!! It is 'A'!! *gleeful*

Yes, but his face does not necessarily mean his head. He could just... not have eyebrows or something. *shrug*

i think Ms. Rowling got so used to the image in the movies she just went with it.I think she changed Voldy to what people were used to. The final book were only written for the movies they were going to make out of them. Even the laws of magic changed with the random light flashes and action scenes that the book could do without. And the angst. The books would be better without the angst. That does not stop me from being TOTALLY OBSESSED and shouting harry potter spells and getting weird looks all the time.

I am definitely in Slytherin. My pet snake's name is Salazar. If it was a girl it would've been Nagini but he is a boy. We just call him Snakey most of the time anyway.

On a completely unrelated topic (I don't know, this might count as trolling, maybe i should make a new thread, don't hurt me) A VERY POTTER SEQUEL IS ALMOST OUT!!! that is all.

Or it could just mean that he was completely clean-shaven (and had no miniscule, unnoticable hairs on his forehead or anything). I suppose we'll never really know for sure.

We need to ask JKR. But I'm afraid she won't be able to read it, because she probably gets so much fanmail.  However, it may be worth a try.

Since the Ways to Annoy Lord Voldemort thread will eventually be sent to her, this could go in the same letter, I suppose. That way she wouldn't have to read so many. But still...

Yah, I actually tried to write a letter to ask her, but gave it up as a bad job... it was pretty pathetic.

Adina, I had thought that was possible too... I know a lot of visuals were messed up in my mind from the movies.

I know what you mean about shouting spells!! OMG, every time I read these books I find myself feeling empty without a wand. Like I have one, but it's been missing for a while, or something..... It's weird. I'll find myself actually thinking, I'll just use my wand, or, if only I had my wand on me.... Once I even thought when my brother needed something done, why can't be use his wand?? ARG!!! It's very frustrating!!!!!

Haha, and the room where I was just reading, it's not safe in an earthquake, so I was planning what I would do if there was one suddenly, but, idiot me, I was planning it with my wand!!! I thought, "I'll put a shield charm around JoJo (my kitty who was sleeping nearby), and I'll do Levicorpus to myself to get off the falling floor, and a bubble-head charm around both of us so we don't breath in the dry-wall and insulation, and I'll do a hover-charm on the chandelier, so that doesn't come crashing down flying china everywhere...." Anyway, it was rather imprudent of me. *is sheepish*

Okay, Update:

I just finished the fourth book Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. That one is definitely the best so far.  Poor Cedric...

Spam Boy says ummt, I think he doesn't know what to say.

:D :D :D You are now entering the realm of people dying at the end of every book..... Sad times, sad times....

That's not really a spoiler, is it???? *looks worried*

Probably not if you don't say who they are... :)

I never thought of that, but people dying at the end of every book starting with GoF is actually quite true.

What!?  Cedric Diggory was bad enough!  Ack!!!!!  It's not that that kind of stuff bothers me but I hate when authors kill of an awsome character or one that doesn't deserve dying (although I love to put it in my books >:D).

usually when an author kills a character at the end of a book- its because the rest of  books wouldn't flow the same - if cedric had lived, would the rest of the books be the same?Undecided
