whoa that's a lot of parties :0 I just had school trips and that drained my social battery so baddd but it was actually pretty fun! I went to Seattle and even though I've already been, we went to some new places. we also went to Forks (where Twilight was filmed XD) and the Hoh Rainforest (one of the largest temperate rainforests in the US, it was seriously so cool, maybe I'll post some photos later... we saw elk like two feet away at one point and everything was so green)

I still have two weeks of school T_T I am missing the last three-ish days though sadly, so I miss yearbook signing and ice cream and all of the fun after-there's-no-more-academics parts. but I'm going to internationals with some friends/my team for a thing called Global Issues Problem Solving/Future Problem Solving. you should look it up, it seems like the kind of thing you might be interested in. I'm super excited, we've done so well this year :DD plus I get to travel for a few days with like three of my best friends :DD

when does your school end? what kind of summer school? as for my summer plans, I have an internship with my school for a week, which is basically just cleaning/organizing the iLab (innovation lab, it's like our workshop—power tools!!!) but they pay you, and then I'm doing a week of rowing camp and then I have a five week overnight math camp I didn't think I'd get into (I applied to like 5 and this was the only one that came through but it was also my top choice so-) but I'm super excited for :D

wHAT I WOULD LOVE A BAKED GOOD DEDICATED TO ME stop you're helping my ego too much ahh- LOL I don't want to force you to make something but if you're ever making some kind of pie that would look good with 'hex' in the middle... :0

also that reminds me, I'm usually pretty—ok, very—inactive during the summer. I might not *ever heh* post on this thread but I swear once I get back to school I'll do my best to catch up! I might pop in every so often on other threads but I don't love writing huge responses on my phone, so probably not here. I will probably post a little depressing poetry on various threads tho XD (...I don't remember if I've told you I post under the name of Woodwind with my poetry...? I don't think I've told a lot of people, mostly just people on other private-ish chat threads but uhh heh yeah... I don't especially care if you know but I'd rather if you didn't yk shout it to the whole world because I like keeping it as a separate alias. anYWAY feedback as always is very appreciated <3)

aw yeah :( some days are rough but I'm always here if you need. your parents/that situation sounds very pressure-ful (word now.) and it's hard to be social... I get thattt but yeah hopefully you can connect with that almost-friend and things next year will look up a bit!!

YESSS Way of Kings :D pretty sure you know Hoid but not by his ~true name~ for a few hundered pages (or even books?) yet... ahh it's kind of hilarious to hear you speculate and vent about what's happened XD I'm a few books ahead of you (haven't gotten around to finishing yet though haha) and all of what happened in the first book now feels so unimportant lol

ooh I've been meaning to read They Both Die at the End. The Poppy War was seriously so good but also dark, darker than Babel if you've read that (and Babel definitely wasn't light reading...). I think I read Emily of New Moon like four years ago and can't remember it, but was that the one by whoever wrote Anne of Green Gables? I... confess I have never read The Giver even though I've been meaning to since someone gave it to me for like my 10th birthday or something lol. oh Eight Cousins was pretty good, very light and happy from what I remember, although it was also read a few years ago :) Ready Player One is a classic, although I could rant about the ending of the second book for hours—it's so stupid he clearly didn't know how to end it so he made something up where they just ignore all their problems ugh—and did you know Ernest Cline just wrote his first middle-grade novel?? it's called Bridge to Bat City or something and it's so different from the Ready Player One/Two and totally not what I was expecting and so weird and whattttt. I never read Caraval but I remember the cover is so pretty... American Born Chinese is also really good, I read it two years ago I think. I've been meaning to read the one about Henrietta Lacks too. YES READ The Etymologicon please it's so good you'd love it- oh yeah Howl's Moving Castle is decent, I've never seen the movie but I hear it's also good. Percy Jackson's college books are wackyyy such a blast from the past but also kind of sad I think I've outgrown them a bit.

...why have I read so many of the books you've mentioned what. I'm currently reading American Gods, Rhythm of War, Hellstrom's Hive, The Silm, Behave, and The Chronicles of Amber... although it's been a few weeks since I've picked up some of them XD I need to read more. 

yeah Amphibia's pretty good but I don't really like Anne. I've never seen any Young Sheldon.

I've never thought about Peri the Platypus :0 I did see a taxidermied platypus last week though, which was sad but also really cool.

SoC is really good too. the other books in the universe aren't quite as good but they're decent.

huh I've never seen the music video for don't shop when ur hungry !! but I will watch it now I guess. *a few min later* it's kinda cool but I think watching the music videos ruins songs for me a little.

I've never baked a pie before, and made everything from scratch, so... idk, it was probably the recipe, but I'm pretty proud anyway :D the only thing is the whipped cream didn't turn out so good... I was going to do your name in that, but I think the lime slices look better anyway :)

I don't remember but have you watched Gravity Falls? It's SO GOOD I LOVE IT SM I LOVE THE INTRO I LOVE THE WHOLE THING WHAT ALSO DIPPER AND MABEL AND WAIT EVERYONE IS AWESOME!!!!!!! Also, I keep forgetting to say, but there's no page 1100 in the Way of Kings, but I do remember I cried a bunch when Dunny died (I think I posted on here when it happened), so... idk? also I keeeeep forgetting to say, thank you so much for restoring my faith in Amphibia!!! I finished it yesterday and it was SO WORTH IT (I've been meaning to tell you thank you since I started the second season... btw tangent I feel like I always have an excuse for when I don't reply or something on here)!!!!! It was sooo sad though I cried through the last episode of the second season and also through the third season... and like at first when Andreas dropped Sprig out the window I was literally sitting there laughing because I was like, "haha, yeah, everyone's being so dramatic but of COURSE someone is going to save him!! That's how these things mostly work!!" but then a few seconds went by with everyone crying and I was like, "wait. He's still falling. Why is he still falling?!?? Why isn't anyone saving him?!??" meanwhile everyone on screen was still like "NOOO!!!" and suddenly I was just like "no one's going to save him. That's it. That's it." and then I started crying and THEN. Marcy jumped on Joe Sparrow because HELLO birds have WINGS and SAVED him. And I was SO. RELIEVED. And was like, welp, so someone saved him after all, except at that point I was still in the "he's gone. Just like that." mindset and crying and then I was just sorta like... okay.

yeah.

AND THEN MARCY GOT STABBED IN THE BACK AND I LOVE MARCY SO MUCH NOOOOOO---

yeah I cried a lot during that episode.

I didn't actually cry when Anne crumbled away, but... I've grown to really appreciate her. It was so awesome watching her grow... but wow, nostalgia now that it's over.

I loveeed Mr. B and Mrs. B too. Like, yesss, they got Asian parents pretty amazingly right, which was AWESOME (granted, I'm Chinese, not Thai, but eh I still relate a lot)!!! Also all the similarities between TOH and Amphibia?!??? Like:

- 13--14 year old girl gets trapped in another world by opening something

- tries to find a way to get home

- finds found family along the way

- finally finds a way home but found family gets trapped in the human world and this time THEY have to find a way home (season 3)!

- goes back to the other world (season 3)

- goes back to the human world (season 3)

- basically yeah :)

aLsO all the easter eggs between Amphibia, TOH, and Gravity Falls are AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!! Like, they're EVERYWHERE. :DDD also the fact that Amphibia had a whole half an episode dedicated to Gravity Falls and Amphibia Soos was like, do you have the feeling we're in a different universe while we're also in this universe but we don't know it?? But wow Grunkle Stan is seriously horrible. Yeah I love Gravity Falls but sometimes they go too far.

In other news, I'm two episodes away from finishing TOH again. I know how everything's going to play out but I still feel so like idk like AGHHH for the characters and what happens to them. Knowing how things mess with them in later episodes actually makes me MORE aghhhh. So. But wow I love it sm.

okay so summer's officially over and school's started, so I have a computer now and I suppose I'm back! it's the second day of school, and I have a free period, so here I am- honestly I probably won't be very active but I'd like to keep chatting with you if you want :D 

idk if you remember what you wrote at the beginning of the summer but I'll respond to it (very briefly) anyway I guess. I love your description of the name Woodwind—that's kinda the vibe I was going for actually! I feel like my poetry has been going downhill for a while and I haven't really been writing recently but oh welllll... congrats on the poetry contest btw! your poem was (as always ofccc) really good :) also thank you for what you said about stuff I posted on confessions <3 it was bad before camp but then camp happened and I came home and we're just tiptoeing around it not mentioning anything which is great honestly but also kind of sucks... it's ok tho!!

we did okay at the futures problem solving internationals thingy—didn't place, but we didn't really expect to. it was super fun :D how was your journalism summer thing? and nope I have noodle arms but I actually started doing rowing as a legit sport, so now I have soccer half the days and rowing half the days and soon I'll have robotics all the days and futures piano peer tutoring model UN some of the days- but like whaaaat no I'm not too busy whaaaaat.

ALSO OH MY GOD YOUR PIE IS SO AMAZING I ACTUALLY LOVE IT SO MUCH nobody's ever DEDICATED A PIE TO ME but it's so cool thank you thank you thank you :D

do you have any more Imagine Dragons songs I should listen to? I've decided I listen to too much sad or chill music and need more things for when I need to GET HYPED UP lol so suggestions (not just Imagine Dragons) would be appreciated :D

also yeah I watched Nimona (with my best friend at like midnight in Hawaii during winter break :D) it was really sweet <3

have you read any other Stormlight Archive since? I'm working on the fourth one right now but I'm also reading Isaac Asimov's Foundation and my school reading How Beautiful We Were or something like that (mehhh) and the Chronicles of Amber by Roger Zelazny (I think) which are actually really really good and a nice fantasy break (would recommend if somehow you didn't have enough to read).

I've never watched any Gravity Falls but the first one. I don't watch a ton of tv so my experience is limited to TOH and the first season or two of Phineas and Ferb lol. sounds fun tho!! the easter eggs are cool-

ok I finished responding to you :D my summer was pretty fun!! I went to a math camp in Philadelphia which aside from the weather (which sucked, 95° and humid like every day istg-) was awesome, and I miss the people so much :< so that was five weeks and then I came home and spent a few days at a lake *attempting* waterskiing with a friend and her family who have a cabin up there. and noW ITS SCHOOL (only day 2) AND im so tired haha. also I got a haircut in late june and now my hair is short and people keep thinking I'm a guy lol. also random but i hate texas is so good and it came out on my birthday :0 I love mxmtoon. have you ever listened to boygenius or Vansire? I discovered them both pretty recently and they're both good. I like "The Record" a boygenius album and like anything by Vansire is so relaxingggg somehow, you should check them out :)
