Mary, I don't think this debate is very constructive. Besides, if I give 3 examples of how you and Reuben were rude, you will probably list your reasons for saying the rude things, and tell me that BuksRul was just as rude (which I know), and then I would tell you I knew that already, etc, etc, and I think the whole thing would be completely pointless. What I consider rude is different from what you consider rude, and those things are both different from what BuksRul would consider rude, and I could go on and on. I understand that no one was trying to be rude, but maybe we could all just try not to be rude? And I'm afraid that if I explain 3 ways you and Reuben were rude, I'll sound rude!

If you still want me to list the 3 reasons, fine. I can list them, but are you sure that's what you want? If so, tell me again.

Thank you, Ima. Opinions, people, opinions are key! *waves frantically*

And I do apologize for any perceived rudeness.

@ Pirocks: Quite right. :)

@ Ima: Um... yeah. Go ahead, actually, if you want... you won't sound rude. And yes, I'll probably then list the reasons that I'm not being rude... but if you really want to, you have my full permission.

@ E.B.: That made no sense whatsoever. Just out of interest, though, pure curiosity, do you find my writing hard to read because I use punctuation?

Again: no offense intended; I may sound a bit harsh, but I'm in a bad mood right now...

Well, see, I'd said a bunch of people were rude (on both sides), and then you said,

"Anyone accusing Reuben and I of being rude, name 3 examples please,"

If you want, I will, but... Well, here it goes: Wait... Actually... Is it OK with Reuben? He didn't ask...

Oh, wait... Were you even talking to me when you spoke of people accusing you and Reuben of being rude? Or were you talking about BuksRul, when she called you rude and savage. Personally, I think calling someone savage is rude, which means calling someone else rude would be hypocritical, whether it's true or not... Am I being rude now? I should stop now.

Ai yi, will everyone stop worrying about sounding rude? Everyone has different opinions of what is impolite or polite. So that there is no confusion, I personally would consider, on the Internet, rudeness to consist of:

-name-calling (example: you are a dingbat)
-shouting, i.e. typing in caps with exclamation points (example: YOU ARE A DINGBAT!)
-not listening to someone else's opinions or ideas (example: Eragon is awesome, don't say there's purple prose! You have no taste in books and I'm ignoring you!)

Yes?

@ Ima: If you still think I'm being rude, go ahead and name three examples of me personally, not Reuben. Although as TNO (umlaut) said, opinions are key. These are my opinions; you disagree. Might you be ever so slightly prejudiced against my manners because we disagree...? Possibly...? Just a suggestion...

@ Pirocks: Sadistic indeed. ;)

No offense intended towards anyone. The examples shown above are purely imaginative. Any resemblance to something said on this thread or any other is completely unintentional.

Lol, you've been listening to Lena too much. ;) *joking* But no, that was a typing error. Probably stemmed from someone calling you 'Ebbie.' Or just the fact that I'm completely scatterbrained, mayhaps.

It's not so much chatspeak itself that's irksome, just either a) excessive use of chatspeak (i.e. IMHO, that was LOL, I was ROFL, it was TMTH, oh wait, BRB, G2G, TTYL) or b) really bad typing with, say, no caps, punctuation, correct spelling, etc. (i.e. hi giz im mry w u kin cal me mry liz).
