OK so these never really happened on the CB and I haven't been active recently, but if anyone wanted to join me in a readathon starting 8:30 PST, I'm ready!
A readathon is where one tries to read an obnoxious amount IN A small amount of time. Sleep is optional but recommended.

Status update: Finished 503 pages. Lost several hours due to unintentional sleep. Having trouble finding material that can be finished at a reasonable pace. Started with the Kalevala, quickly realized it was too dense, proceeded to read straight through Mariel of Redwall, started on Six Feet Over it, planning to switch to The Ordinary Princess or A Tale Dark and Grimm, will resort to the Flight series if time starts running out. Trying to figure out if I can make it. Standby for further details.

8:16 EST, just finished The Ordinary Princess, bringing my page count total up to 615. I would have been done sooner but for my decision to read it in the woods. My surroundings distracted me. I was sitting on a sort of half-circle carpet of moss by a stream, and it was beautiful. I saw a rat and a goldfinch and a deer and a number of bugs, and the deer sneezed. More than once. It sounded really weird.
Four hours left... I think I'm going to have another go at Six Feet Over It, and if that fails, I'll try A Tale Dark and Grimm.

Slowly getting through The Unexpected Everything. I was helping make sandwiches for my family's lunch tomorrow so I lost a fair amount of time to that.
Currently on page 122 of The Unexpected Everything
I may switch to another book because this is NOT easy for me to get through right now.

160 pages into The Unexpected Everything
268 pages into Gena/Finn
I'm happy with 953 because I didn't read constantly. I would say I read for about 7-8 straight hours.

I just finished Gina/Finn (even though the Readathon is over for my time zone). I also actually read 964 pages total. I had my pages wrong for The Unexpected Everything. I'm now picking up Why We Broke Up because I have so much energy!

12:15. I made it. Almost.
Got to page 232 of Six Feet Over it around 11, 11:30, then made the final sprint through 220 pages of Flight, volume 2. Just finished. Late. But I read a thousand pages, in under 24 hours from when I started and under 25 from midnight yesterday. I think that deserves a confetti angel.
