Chatterbox: Blab About Books
The Ultimate CB Book Log
Have you read...
Have you read a book recently?
Enter its name here. This is the 2017 Ultimate CB Book Log. Well, technically starting in 2016, but who cares?
This is a place for us to keep a huge, giant log of books, both for ourselves, and also so other CBers can see what we're reading. Everytime you finish a book--whether you've read it or not--put its name and author here. You don't have to talk about it or anything...you just type in its title. We can discuss books here if you want, but it's not required.
Have fun!
I think this is a great idea, Owlgirl!

I just started Caraval! It sounds really good but the beginning definitely is slow. I'm stuck in the beginning because it's really boring to me, but I think it will get relly good once I get into it.

The Witch Boy by Molly Ostertag.

I read The Witch Boy recently too! It's a cool story.
I'm currently reading The White Bicycle by Beverly Brenna. It's really good, and yet completely unlike my usual reading material - it's about a girl Asperger's trying to find independence and reconcile her past to figure out her present and future.
Before that, I read Renegades by Marissa Meyer (agh the Lunar Chronicles were amazing), and now I'm mad at myself for reading it so soon because now I have to wait at least 10 months for the end to come out aaaaaargh...
It's so good, but it's not really stand-alone at all because it ends on a cliffhanger and everything's just starting to happen and I think the world needs a word for book serieses (does series have a plural?) that are really just one big book split into parts so you can lift them - LoTR is the only other example I can think of, but I'm gonna say Renegades falls in that category as well. Then readers can be warned to have the whole "series" on hand so as not to succumb to madness between books.
Anyways, yeah. Also reading the City of Ember series by Jeanne DuPrau, because I realized the movie was a book adaptation.

Admins, is it okay to make a separate post for this book series? I know it's for a little bit of an older audience, more like 13-14+, so I just wanted to check first. But I do has all these feeeeeeeels that I must release somewhereeeeee!!!! ;-;
Thank you for asking, Inktail. After review by the editors, we've deemed the series you mention inappropriate for Chatterbox.

Burn, by Elissa Sussman **** so far
Christy, by Catherine Marshall (AHHHH! I JUST FINISHED THE MOVIE SERIES AND IT DOES NOT SAY WHO SHE ENDS UP WITH SO NOW I HAVE TO USE SOME SELF-CONTROL WHILE READING THE BOOK SO THAT I DON'T FLIP TO THE LAST PAGE TO SEE WHO SHE ENDS UP WITH AND AHHHHHH) *********

A Wrinkle in Time by Madeleine L'Engle
I confess that I read this only because I saw the movie was coming out and I didn't want to be one of those people who only watched the movie. I had started it a year ago but had stopped reading because I didn't really like it, but have finished it because of the movie.
12 Finally by Wendy Mass
I only read this because I was out of books and it was on my sister's bookshelf. It was funny but childish, and I think I would have enjoyed it if I was younger.
Blackberry Crumble by Josi S. Kilpack
It was pretty good and had some very funny parts. As far as murder mysteries go it wasn't my favorite as it focused less on the murder and more on the emotional journeys of the characters. Not very fast-paced, but altogether a good book.
