Any recomendations for...

Any recomendations for my summer reading list? Let me give you some background on my reading interests. I love classics, enjoy a good realistic fiction, and am forever looking for enjoyable, well writen historical fiction. I have nothing against fantasy, though I usualy don't read much of it. I would, if I knew some good ones. I despise dystopian novels, and don't like modern romance novels. So basicaly, I don't like anything YA ;). I get scared SUPER easily, so scary books are not really for me. So, any tips? Please? I really need some good new books to read!

Have you ever read Tuck Everlasting? It's a really great book that I just finished reading by Natalie Babbit. It isn't really scary at all, and is focused on the question "is it really worth it to be immortal?"
Another book that I enjoy reading is The Princess Academy series. There's three books in all, the first being Orincess Academy, the second book is called The Palace of stone, and the third is called The forgotten sisters.
If you need any more recommendations, just ask.

If you have any desire for really good mystery novels:

~ Under the Egg by Laura Marx Fitzgerald (this book is an AMAZING historic-based mystery that is very hard to put down)

~ A Hitch at the Fairmont by Jim Averbeck (Hilarious, this book had me laughing for hours on end! It also has a really good plot and is slightly historic- based)

One of my favorite fantasy series of all time:

~ The Books of Beginning Series (This series has a very rich plot with a twist. It contains some romance but is NOTHING like your stereotypical YA romance novel. Trust me. The first book is called The Emerald Atlas. Read it and see what you think!)

The Wingfeather Saga

The Rise and Fall of Mount Majestic

Wolves of the Beyond

I know these are all fantasy, but you never know if Ya like em til ya try em. Plus, these are all great Leeli-Approved fantasy's. And I just started reading TRaFoMM, and it's really good! I'm almost finished!

I think you would really enjoy What I Came To Tell You. It's a beautiful book about a boy dealing with grief. It's actually not too heavy because all of the characters in it are really nice, kind people. I thought of it because it has a character in it named Emma Lee who loves to read, and you love to read and make characters named Emma. However, it has a few references to stuff that might not be completely CB appropriate, but I'm 10 and it was fine with me. I think you're a little older than me, hopefully it's ok. You can look it up. UGGGH this reccomendation just got complicated.

Thanks, Apple, I'll definitely check it out! Do I really make charries named Emma that much? Ha ha! Well, I do love the name Emily, and other names that sound similar. I'm 14 so I should be fine. Thanks!

Oh, I love reading classics from time to time. Here are some of my personal favorites under that genre:

1. To Kill a Mockingbird (a must read for any classics fan)

2. The Diary of Anne Frank (WWII, amazing, truely amazing)

3. Call of the Wild

4. Sign of the Beaver

5. Harry Potter (most consider it a classic, and it is not a YA. Although, it can have somewhat scary or slightly romantic moments in later books)

6. The Giver

7. A Midsummer's Night Dream by Shakespeare (currently reading it)

8. The Art of War (a classic, and it actually is used by business professionals as well)

9. Robinson Crusoe (a shorter read)

10. The Secret Garden (one of my personal favorites)

11. Julius Caeser by William Shakespear

These are some of my favorite classics. I suggest all of these and many more based off of what you enjoy. But if I had to choose 3 of my favorites for what you like, I would say To Kill a Mockingbird, The Diary of Anne Frank, and Call of the Wild. But overall, these are amazing classics and you must read all of them, I swear.

Have a fun summer reading!

Bibliophile already said this, but I would seriously recommend The Book Thief by Marcus Zusak if you are looking for good historical fiction. It is about World War 2, and a little girl named Liesel who loves books and words. It is narrated by Death, who actually can be very satirical and funny sometimes. But is extremely well-written, and the little inputs from Death and the entire storyline is really good.

It is one of my all-time favorites.

Some other really good books:

A Mango-Shaped Space by Wendy Mass

A Wrinkle in Time by Madeleine L'engle

The Mysterious Benedict Society by Trenton Lee Stewart

Your reading list is probably already like a yard long, so I won't clutter it up anymore!!

His Dark Materials, which is a romance, but only read the first book, because while the last two books are super philisophical, they are a romance.
