Any recomendations for...
Any recomendations for my summer reading list? Let me give you some background on my reading interests. I love classics, enjoy a good realistic fiction, and am forever looking for enjoyable, well writen historical fiction. I have nothing against fantasy, though I usualy don't read much of it. I would, if I knew some good ones. I despise dystopian novels, and don't like modern romance novels. So basicaly, I don't like anything YA ;). I get scared SUPER easily, so scary books are not really for me. So, any tips? Please? I really need some good new books to read!

*mindset, what Coco reads*
Oh-kay.
How about the Redwall series? It's well written, with terrific plots, if somewhat repetitive, and great charries! (huge series. Only have two or three left to read, myself)

Thanks, Cho. I'll be sure to check that out! I'm not usually a fan of fighting, but the animal theme sounds appealing. I'll give it a try.

XD
Sorry. There's actually a couple without any fighting, but those ones are still good!

Hey, have you read Watership Down? It sounds pretty similar...

Hmm. . . I don't read too many classics, but I do love realistic fiction!
Here are few:
Crenshaw by Katherine Applegate- A cute story, it might be for younger kids, but I'm 12 and I loved it!
Pax by Sarah Pennypacker- An animal story: Alot of people think that this is a sad book, I didn't. It kinda depends, but it was a good book anyways.
Liar & Spy and Goodbye Stranger by Rebecca Stead- I LOVED these books. . . They were really good realistic fiction. I would recommend you read Liar and Spy, since I liked that one better that Goodbye Stranger.
I'll give you more book recommendations later!

Thanks, September! I'll look them up, and tell you what I think!
Isn't Rebecca Stead the author of When You Reach Me? I loved that book!

Yup! I love that book too, although the end was a bit confusing!

WELL-WRITTEN HISTORICAL FICTION: (I am always on the lookout for it too)
--A Night Divided, by Jennifer Nielson: Berlin Wall. This book is a little slow-starting, but eventually becomes very engaging. This book gave me a good surprise- the author mostly writes fantasy, somO wasn't expecting it to be very good..but it was! I read this a few days ago.
--Chains, by Laurie Halse Anderson: One of my favorite historical fiction books ever. My reasons to recommend this...A) Because it really is an excellent book and B) it's sentimental for me as a CBer, because the very first thing I ever did on the CB was create a thread on Blab About Books was a review of this book. There's more, but it's late and that's all I can think of at the moment.

Ive read both Liar & Spy and When You Reach Me. Both were good, although I think I preferred When You Reach Me.
(June 6, 2016 - 10:07 pm)
The Apothercary by Maile Meloy(It's a good historical fiction with some magic thrown in) (And it has a sequel)
Fish in a Tree by Lynda Mullaly Hunt(Realistic Fic, I thought it was really good)
I might think of more later, those are just some books I really enjoyed.
