I would personally amend that to maybe not Alanna or Kel b/c those might be a little inappropriate... depends on what you're comfortable with.

You guys have absolutely GOT to read THE Testing!! Anyone who likes The Hunger Games will just LOVE this! It's sooo good! And paramount is buying the movie rights!

I really like the Inkheart trilogy and A Series of Unfortunate Events series. They're both very good and will make you cry.

True Colors by Natalie Kinsey-Warnock - It is historical fiction it is incredibly good you really have to read it (I rate it 5 stars, I don't do that very often)  

I have more but I can't think of them right now, definitely True Colors though.

I LOVE THIS BOOK!! The Fast and the Furriest. It's about a couch potato who is suddenly obsessed with dog agility... or rather, his dog is. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS BOOK TO ALL: NO "ADULT" STIFF, TOTALLY UNDERSTANDABLE, AND VERY, VERY, VERY HILARIOUS!!!!!!!
