Pretty much anything by these authors are going to give you a decent read, no matter what your mood:

Gail Carson Levine (she rocks!)

J.R.R. Tolkien (his shorter stories are actually quite amusing)

Robin Mckinley (she REALLY rocks)

Philip Pullman (how he can be funny, stirring, tragic, and epic all at once is GENIUS)

Rick Riordan (just because)

Ya, it's REALLY good! I'm still not finished with it, but I almost am! And I see that I'm not the only fan of Dear America!

Oh my gosh, Keepers is SO good! So is it's sequal, Exile! They're like in my Top 10 favorite series! I've literally read them 6 times in 5 months.  And I'm DYING waiting for book 3, which comes out November 4!!!!! (Sorry, I rarely meet someone who has read this series, and I just go fangirlishly wild when I do, cause I love these books so so so much!)

YES! Dear Americas are some of the most incredible books I've ever read. They draw you into the world of the writer, make you experience the fear, the excitement or happiness, the sadness they experience, and I've never read one I could put down. I love them.

The Keeper books seem like they should be made into a movie. I don't know why, but sometimes I get this hunch that a book will be made into a movie some day. Don't ask me why.

THEY SHOULD BE. I totally want them in a movie!!!

ONLY though if they get the right actors/actresses, and actually attempt to follow the book. I don't want some stupid up and coming A-list actress who wears ten pounds of makeup for Sophie, I don't want some teenage hearthrobs to play Fitz, Keefe, and Dex, I don't want some middle-aged guy who dyes his hair to look young to play Alden. I WANT SERIOUS ACTORS WHO TAKE THE ROLLS SERIOUSLY AND DON'T LOOK AT THIS FOR THEIR BIG BREAK.

And I do not want a Percy Jackson all over again. Follow the book, or don't do it at all. (Yes, I know we all want it this way, but I'm just ranting.) Keeper is such an amazing series with amazing attention to detail. I want to see their world, their creatures, the strange foods and people and outfits! I WANT IT ALL.

So yeah, I'm in strong agreement of a movie.

@BlondeHeroinesRule:

Is the book THE BOOK THIEF good? What's it about? I've seen it and almost read it but I wanted to know more about it before I read it.

I'd suggest either the Cat Royal Series, or the Lady Grace Mysteries. Both are historical fiction set in London, on at the court of Queen ELizabeth and the other at Drury Lane theater. Fast-paced, very witty, I have deeply enjoyed both!
