Chatterbox: Blab About Books

Harry Potter Roleplay
I checked out...

I checked out the one for Warriors, and it looked fun, although I know nothing about Warriors. So, do any of you HP fans out there want to start one?

I'm not entirely sure what you're asking. Do you mean, can we include other people's characters in our posts? Only if interaction is kept at a minimum and no big choices are made by other people's characters without input from the people whose characters are being used.  If not, can you clarify?

Never mind.

All my confidence drained, I tripped from one compartment to the next. Every single one seemed to be filled to the bursting point. Exasperated, I pushed open a door to be confronted by a tall girl with mean glint in her eye in the midst of storming out, who froze like a deer in headlights. But I got the feeling that she wouldn't be intimidated by headlights. Or a mere eighteen-wheeler. Behind her stood a scoffing boy and a plump, blue-eyed girl, whose eyes were welling up.

"Umm," I stammered, choking on my words, "I'll be going now," and whisked back towards the door.

"Freakin' mudbloods," I heard the grumpy girl mutter under her hot and angry breath.

But then the train started to move, and with my faulty motion-sickness, I plopped right down on the ground, cold, shaking, and confused.

"Great. Another one."

((I'm guessing the plump girl with blue eyes is Lillian/Lena, and the scoffing boy is Scorpius, but who's the tall girl? Because if you're thinking Belinda she's really short - 4"6'))

I sighed as the first-year girl moaned and sank to the ground with the first lurching motions of the train. In a minute she was going to puke all over the place, and I didn't want her in our compartment when she did. I gave her a quick nudge with my foot and considered just levitating her out. She moaned again. Her hair was a mess and her sweater was twisted and lopsided on her shoulders.

Scorpius came up behind me. "Mudblood," he said immediately, echoing my thoughts.

"Agreed," I replied. I leaned down, grabbed the girl's wrists, and half-threw her out of the corridor.

"Hey!" she said angrily, despite her obvious nausea. "What gives?"

Scorpius and I exchanged quick glances. "Definitely Mudblood," he said with a nod.

So farther up, Lillian/Lena said that I joined her, and down here I am thrown out (but of a different car). Not that I have a problem with either, (in fact, I'm honored), I don't know exactly where to post this. I'm just putting it here, but know that it ties up with Lillian/Lena.

*************************************

I sat in the compartment with Lillian, rubbing my sore wrists. She offered me a chocolate frog, which I accepted with a smile, which became real once I discovered that it wasn't a real amphibian. She was awkward, stiff, at first, but as the train snaked along, she began to let her hair down, explaining about houses and the like.

I was just getting over my movement sickness, no longer a shade of broccoli green, and had heaved myself off of the ground when my phone rang. A loud, jangling sound that seemed to cut through the air and land on everyone's ears shrilly.

"Crud," I mouthed silently, not sure if it was something wizards would say. I opened it, cringing.

"Keira Ross!" My dad's yelling voice could be heard, even when I held the phone a foot away from my ear, which I was doing as not to damage it. "We received a message that you went on the train to that phony magician school, even after we told you not to. Just know that when we get you back, you and your phycologist will be seeing a lot of each other. Imaging that all your troubles are because you're magical, and we don't know anything about this school!"

"We're worried about you, dearie," my mother cut in, and i could hear my sister wailing in the backround.

With a swift and sure movement, I shut the phone, yanked out the battery, stuffing it all into my bag. What didn't they understand? Here, I was almost . . . normal, you could say, excepting the fact that I chewed my nails and had a baby robin in my sweatshirt pocket.

In the shaken silence that followed, a voice drawled out, "well."

I glanced nervously at Keira, wanting to explain that it was okay and that I was from a Muggle family, too, but there was no time. Drusilla, the Slytherin girl, and her friend were standing in front of our compartment.

"Thought you couldn't stand our stink?" James asked loudly.

"We can't," the Selwyn girl, whose name I thought was Belinda. "Now we can't stand that noise."

TNÖ, I'm not sure if that's controlling you, but I couldn't imagine who else would be drawling. Is that okay with you?

((Not 'tall. Though Draco Malfoy was often described as drawling. Perhaps Scorpius could pick up the habit?))

*******

One of the girls stuck her chin out defiantly. "What are you going to do about it?" she demanded.

Drusilla pulled out her wand, slowly and with obvious relish. A manic gleam lit up in her eye. "Can you guess?" she asked, her voice suddenly high and curious, as it always was when she was about to cast a particularly nasty hex.

James stood up, whipping out his wand. "Try it," he said. I laughed, and pulled out my wand, too.

"You need to learn your manners, you filthy blood-traitor," I said.

Drusilla beat me too it. Her thick, black wand cut through the air with a whistle. A jet of blueish light leapt from it and James barely managed to dive out of the way. He followed it up with a clumsy stunner - I snorted, blocked it, and sent my own curse flying his way.

It missed him by inches and caught one of the Mudbloods in the face. She slumped over with a groan, painful-looking boils erupted along her cheeks.

James drew breath to shout, but Drusilla caught him in the ribs with a stunner. He collapsed. The other two were in no state to provide a counter attack.

Drusilla laughed as we left.

*******

((Oh, bonus points and virtual choklit to anyone who can guess Drusilla's namesake))

Drusilla's namesake??? Who?

OK, is it Keira or me who got your hex? We're both Muggle-born. I want to keep playing, but I should probably know if poor Lillian's supposed to be in pain before I put her in pain.

Also, I think we should continue playing on Bekah's thread.

*nod* Yes, her namesake. Like, who did I name her after? (It's a fictional character who totally pwns Alice for cooky character.)

I 'gree. *heads to Bekah's thread*

This looks like fun!!

Name: Faylinn Kelley

House: Ravenclaw

Year/Age: 3rd year/13

Appearance: 5'4", golden-brown hair in a long braid (goes all the way down to her waist), light gray-green eyes, rather pale skin, slim and graceful.

Wand: Beechwood and dragon heartstring, 9"/22.5 centimeters (that's one of the wands Harry tries in the 1st book when he's at Ollivander's).

Classes: Transfiguration, Potions, Charms, Herbology, Astronomy, History of Magic, DADA, Muggle Studies, Ancient Runes

Relatives: No important HP characters.

Extracurruicular Activities: Chaser on the Ravenclaw Quidditch team, in Dueling Club. (I don't think there was one outside of the 2nd book, but let's have one anyway.)

**********

Don't we need to come up with some new teachers? McGonagall would probably still be Headmistress, which leaves Transfiguration empty, and I'm sure some of the other teachers would have retired. I think we'll need new Heads of House, too. (Maybe Neville for Gryffindor?)

And we need to create the Quidditch teams! Hmm...1 Keeper, 1 Seeker, 2 Beaters, 3 Chasers. So...28 people. Surprised That's a lot! I suggest some of us have our characters play Quidditch, and we can fill in the gaps with unplayed characters.

Does this have the same rules as the Role-Playing Story?
