Favorite Book Quotes
I don't know...
I don't know about all of you people, but I really love quotes. In my basement, I have a large bulletin board that I post all my favorite quotes (and stuff like that) on. I was thinking that we could all start posting quotes that we like alot. They can be funny, or inspiring, serious, anything you want...
To start it off, here's mine:
"Just remember that sometimes, the way you think about a person isn't the way they actually are." -John Green (of course:)

"Yeah! Let's go kiss Hans!...Who is this 'Hans'?" - Olaf
*******************************************************************************
A Walk to Remember is sort of like TFiOS; it's a love story with two teens. BUT - the boy (that would be Landon) doesn't know that the girl (Jamie) has a secret...and then she eventually tells him the secret (SPOILER ALERT! READ ON IF YOU DARE!)

and the secret is that she has leukemia. (sob)
So then she tells him about these things she wants to do in her life, like get a tattoo, and be in two places at once, etc. So somehow Landon makes those things happen, and then they get married as teens, and a whole bunch of other stuff but I'm fangirling so much I can't even talk in complete sentences and just read the book okay thank you goodbye now.

Ah, yes, I think I saw it on some shelf at the bookstore under the heading "if you like John Green, try...."
But it's TEEN, right, meaning romance and kissing and all that unsavory stuff? I don't mind it in moderation, but I've encountered too many insipid teen-romance books to trust them.
More Olaf quotes:
"It's like my whole life got turned upside down."
"Because I love you, Anna, I insist you run!"
"I bet she's the nicest, gentlest, warmest person ever. Oh, look at that. I've been impaled."
"Hands down, this is the best day of my entire life. And quite possibly the last."
"Oh! Okay. Makes things easier for me."

No offense, but how is that second one amusing/inspiring/heartwarming in any way?

No offense, but I notice you seem to always pick on something I've said. It's a free country, ok? No one else is complaining.

They're screwdrivers, not water pistols. What are you going to do, assemble a cabinet at them?
(May 27, 2014 - 12:50 pm)
Have you ever had a long night? Ever had an an awful lot of CABINETS to put up?!?!?
-The 9th Doctor.
River: Honey, what are you doing?
Doctor: Helping!
River: You've got a screwdriver! GO build a cabinet!
Doctor: That's REALLY rude!
River: Shut up and drive!
The Impossible Astronaut. Best River-Doctor exchange ever.

“Sometimes, you read a book and it fills you with this weird evangelical zeal, and you become convinced that the shattered world will never be put back together unless and until all living humans read the book.” - The Fault in Our Stars by John Green

"God's in Heaven, and all's right with the world."
"Tomorrow is fresh, with no mistakes in it."
“Kindred spirits are not so scarce as I used to think. It's splendid to find out there are so many of them in the world.”
“True friends are always together in spirit."
“It's delightful when your imaginations come true, isn't it?”
“When I left Queen's my future seemed to stretch out before me like a
straight road. I thought I could see along it for many a milestone. Now
there is a bend in it. I don't know what lies around the bend, but I'm
going to believe that the best does.”
“Anne always remembered the silvery, peaceful beauty and fragrant calm
of that night. It was the last night before sorrow touched her life; and
no life is ever quite the same again when once that cold, sanctifying
touch has been laid upon it.”
“There's such a lot of different Annes in me. I sometimes think that is
why I'm such a troublesome person. If I was just the one Anne it would
be ever so much more comfortable, but then it wouldn't be half so
interesting.”
“I'm not a bit changed--not really. I'm only just pruned down and branched out. The real ME--back here--is just the same.”
All of those were from Anne of Green Gables.
“I have hated words and I have loved them, and I hope I have made them right.”
“Usually we walk around constantly believing ourselves. "I'm okay" we
say. "I'm alright". But sometimes the truth arrives on you and you
can't get it off. That's when you realize that sometimes it isn't even
an answer--it's a question. Even now, I wonder how much of my life is
convinced.”
~ The Book Thief
"He had no idea where the stereotype of dumb, giggly blondes came from. Ever since he'd met Annabeth at the Grand Canyon last winter, when she'd marched toward him with that "Give me Percy Jackson or I'll kill you expression," Leo had thought of blondes as much too smart and much too dangerous. ~The Mark of Athena
"You can't keep a good girl down." ~The Girl Who Could Fly
“Gently Agatha touched her face in the mirror, glowing from inside.
A face no one recognized because it was so happy.
There
could be no turning back now. The bread crumbs on the dark trail were
gone. Instead, she had the truth to guide her. A truth greater than any
magic.
I've been beautiful all along.”
“Agatha: "If you say anything smug or stuck-up or shallow, I'll have Reaper follow you home."
Sophie: "But then I can't talk!”

One of my favorite book series are the Percy Jackson books. I recommend this series for anyone who has not read them. Here are some quotes from this series.
Book #3 - He went on asking questions. Did I fight a lot with Thalia, since she was a daughter of Zeus? (I didn't answer that one.) If Annabeth's mother was Athena, the goddess of wisdom, then why didn't Annabeth know better than to fall off a cliff? (I tried not to strangle Nico for asking that one.) Was Annabeth my girlfriend? (At this point, I was ready to stick the kid in a meat-flavored sack and throw him to the wolves.)
Book #1 - “Why can't you place a blessing like that on us?" I asked.
"It only works on wild animals."
"So it would only affect Percy," Annabeth reasoned.
"Hey!" I protested.”
Book #1 - “You're Dionysus," I said. "The god of wine."
Mr. D rolled his eyes. "What do they say these days, Grover? Do the children say 'Well duh!'?"
Y-yes, Mr. D."
Then, well, duh! Percy Jackson. Did you think I was Aphrodite, perhaps?"
You're a god."
Yes, child."
A god. You.”
Book #4 - My mother made a squeaking sound that might of been either "yes" or "help".
Poseidon took it as a yes and came in.
