Chatterbox: Blab About Books

Favorite Book Quotes
I don't know...

I don't know about all of you people, but I really love quotes. In my basement, I have a large bulletin board that I post all my favorite quotes (and stuff like that) on. I was thinking that we could all start posting quotes that we like alot. They can be funny, or inspiring, serious, anything you want...

To start it off, here's mine:

"Just remember that sometimes, the way you think about a person isn't the way they actually are." -John Green (of course:)

Horribly sad book!!!!! Percy Jackson is amazing. Have all the books. My favorite quote is from Harry Potter:

"Why are you worrying about You-Know-Who? You should be worried  about U- No- Poo! The constipation sensation that's gripping the nation!" I usually do not approve of references to body waste but this is hilarious.

Some other favorites:

The things that made you weird as a kid make you great today. -James Victore

You have to believe, otherwise it will never happen. -Neil Gaiman

Don't feel stupid if you don't like what everyone else pretends to love. -Emma Watson

"You say you're not special because the world doesn't know about you, but that's an insult to me. I know about you." -Hazel Grace, The Fault in Our Stars

I guess that's the point of it all. No one knows for certain how much impact they have on the lives of other people. Often times, we have no clue. Yet we push it just the same. -Thirteen Reasons Why, Jay Asher

That "When You Reach Me" quote almost made me cry. It's so true, and I wish all the people in the world that mean to do bad things would stop for a second. And look around and see all the damage they've caused, all the lives they've ruined, all the people and animals they've hurt. And they would wonder if they wanted to do that anymore.

Okay, now I'm actually crying and my keyboard is getting wet so I'll stop...

When You Reach Me is my favorite book of all time. (I put Harry Potter in a different category.) I have read WYRM 9 times and I love it every time. I wrote a review on it. U should check out in another thread (can't remember which).

"Expect everything, I always say, and the unexpected will never happen." -The Phantom Tollbooth

"Everyone looked alike, and some looked more like each other than they looked like themselves." -The Phantom Tollbooth

My gosh is that an awesome book. I just started re-reading it, and within 25 pages there were two awesome quotes.

Cappie says bhyc. You want a bike, cappie?

Yay, more Phantom Tollbooth

"I didn't know words could be so confusing!"

"Only when you use a lot to say a little."

"You'll find that the only thing you can do easily is be wrong, and that's hardly worth the effort."

And now one from Percy Jackson that made me laugh.

"'Hey, Grover!'

He stopped and turned at the edge of the woods.

'Wherever you're going, I hope they make good enchiladas!'"

"Stuff your eyes with wonder, he said, live as if you'd drop dead in ten seconds. See the world. It's more fantastic than any dream made or paid for in factories." -Ray Bradbury, Fahrenheit 451

"Stories have a way of changing faces. They are unruly things, undisciplined, given to delinquency and the throwing of erasers. This is why we must close them up into thick, solid books, so they cannot get and cause trouble." -Catherynne M. Valente, The Girl Who Circumnavigated Fairyland In A Ship Of Her Own Making

"I try very hard to be annoying, don't insult my ability to annoy." -Leo Valdez in The Lost Hero by Rick Riordan

Cappie says itdi. Itdi? I don't know what you mean, cappie. (I'll post some more quotes later :) )

"If there is something of magic left in the world, I expect it to be in the far north." ~Thor, East

"There's no use having something exciting like floods if you don't have anyone to share them with." ~Piglet, Winnie the Pooh

"It's not down on any map; true places never are." I first read this in Moon Over Manifest, but it's originally from Moby Dick.

"Some people are worth melting for." - Olaf

...

Okay. Yes. Technically speaking, it's not a book, but I'd love a book about Olaf.

"'Okay?'

'Okay.'" - TFiOS

"So we'd be hiding behind a tree and Hegbert (what kind of parents name their kid Hegbert, anyway?)" - A Walk to Remember

"Hegbert didn't understand us at all, which was really sort of strange, being that he had a kid and all. But then again, she was a girl. More on that, though, later." (JAMIE ALERT!) - A Walk to Remember

"Certainly the last person he thought he'd fall for was Jamie..." - A Walk to Remember

<3 I JUST CAN'T EVEN.

What's A Walk to Remember? That book sounds so familiar, but I just can't place it.

Oh, if we're doing Olaf quotes, then look out, because I have just too many:

"I'm thinking maybe some crimson, chartruese, how about yellow? Wait, yellow and snow? No go."

"Woo! Head rush!"

"It's so cute! Just like a little baby unicorn!"

"I don't have a skull...or bones..."

"Some people are worth melting for."

"There's your act of true love right there, riding across the fjords like a valiant, pungent reindeer king!"
