Hey everyone !
Chatterbox: Blab About Books
Hey everyone !
I don't think I've ever done this before , I think I've suggested it , but always been rejected .. anyway , does anyone want to start a book club ? Or is there already one ?
I think that we should discuss it in this thread ( if we do decide to start one , or don't ) &we'll start it in a different thread . Sound aighht ?
Well , if we do decide to do one , I think that we need to pick a certain genre ? Or maybe just rule a certain genre out ? ( i really dunno what I'm doing , lol ) . Well for example , I'm all for a book club w. different types of books and genres , there are just certain types of books I refuse to read .
Like anything w. sorcery ( Harry Potter for example .. ) I am not going to read . I'm Christian , and in the Bible it specifically says not too engage w. that sort of stuff .. ( sorry , not trying to turn this into a religous debate .... )
So , if we start one , please no sorcery (:
That's all . Now you may comment (:
( Oh yea , please keep in mind that it's a book club , not school so no really big books .. or expensive ones )

I know there are a lot of suggestions, but I saw someone mention Vernes, and I flipped! I don't naturally like a lot of him books, but I LOVE LOVE LOOOOVEEEEE Around the World in 80 Days!
Vida, you should gather a list of all the books that are possibilities, and then take a vote. I've never done a book club before, decided it's high time I did!

I am Charlie, recently back from no-internet-access-in-South America, and I vote for The Lion, The Witch, And The Wardrobe. Mostly because... I am in the process of The Underneath, I've read The Westing game(though I wouldn't mind reading it again...it was great), and I've read all but the last book of the AoGG series. And, hi again everyone! :)
(August 30, 2013 - 7:38 am)
My name is Gollum (or, in these parts it is) and I vote Anne of Green Gables.
(August 30, 2013 - 9:41 am)
My name is Razzi D and I vote for Anne of Green Gables.

Three votes for Narnia , and two for Anne of Green Gables !
So if it's cool w. everyone , The Lion , the Witch , and the Wardrobe it is ?

I do think that is a good idea too. But I also don't read certain books that are just too boring or any candy books (books that are written very badly or books that are just too easy). But I don't think I could do this book club because I won't be able to get the books. I do say that anyone who can get the books should do it though. I do have a question: Have you ever read The Chronicles of Narnia by C.S. Lewis?
(September 16, 2013 - 7:03 pm)
Heey Ashlee !
I'm sorry you can't join ! Pero , yes I have read the books ! Have you ? I LOVE them !
(September 25, 2013 - 2:21 pm)
I would also like to join, pleeease. This is funny because I have read the entire Narnia series, Anne of Green Gables series, and The Girl Who Could Fly (loved them all with my whole heart). I actually was writing a paper for Language Arts about my two favorite fictional characters and one was from Green Gables, the other Narnia. I was also already planning to read A Mango-Shaped Space. However, I would not mind at all reading them again and having someone to rave to about them!! So--
My name is Sarah B, and I vote for...
ANNE OF GREEN GABLES!
P.S. I'm another Christian.
(September 27, 2013 - 3:07 pm)
My name is Blonde Heroines Rule, and I vote for Anne of Green Gables!!!
@ Sarah: So nice to have someone else who has The Girl Who Could Fly! I keep hoping Victoria will write another, but nothing. I've written to her several times, but with no reply. Sad.

Surviving the Applewhites by Stephanie Tolan. Sure, the guy swears a lot, but it doesn't have the words written down. My favorite book! Newberry Honor!
