I liked these quotes, but don't know who they're from....
"When the power of love overcomes the love of power, the world will know peace."
"Learn to rest, not to quit."
"An original is always worth more than a copy."
"It always seems impossible until it's done."
"Sanity and happiness are an impossible combination."
"Let your smile change the world, but don't let the world change your smile."
"Keep your face to the sunshine, and you cannot see a shadow."
"The happiest people seem to be those who have no particular cause for being happy except that they are so."
But anyways feel free to ignore these pls!!

@Celine I LOVE that first quote!! If only everyone would take that as their guiding precept, the world would be so much better! And the last one is so true too :)

Guys? It's the twenty-second and we haven't made the post asking for submissions.
For the LMWAY, do we want to go with CelineBurning Bright's idea, or something more month-related like 'What's a creative way to stay cool during the summer?' idk, it's up to you guys
but we should try to make the post asking for submissions (for the LMWAY, Advice Column, LoTM, Important Dates, and Jokes Column) as soon as we can.
Also, @BookGirl, I really like the quotes you picked out! Do you need me to do CB Quotes?

@BookGirl, I love the quotes you chose too :)
@Celine, ooh, I love your quotes too!! Hopefully I can fit a couple of them in as well.
@pangolin, it would be great if you could do the CB quotes. And yesss that's a wonderful idea for a LMWAY! *rushes off to make the submissions thread before any more time goes by*

Ooh, @Pangolin, I like your question a LOT more!! Thank you for making the thread, Amethyst!

Alright, here are the CB quotes~
“When life gives you peaches, freeze them and drop them on someone’s head from a 3rd-story window.” – Jwyn
“I just drank a cup of black tea mixed with coffee. I have ascended to another astral plane and I can see ghosts now.” – S. Clockwork
lmk if you want more quotes than just two :)
also, do you think we should do a special feature or something in honor of the 10000th comment on the Random Thoughts & Things thread? idk what that would even entail but it might be cool?

Here's the Book of the Month!
Julieta and the Romeos, by Maria E. Andreu
Julieta is a seventeen-year-old Argentinian American girl who longs for a more exciting life than the one she's always known - she dreams of being a famous writer, but at the moment she's just living in a quiet suburban town and helping out her parents with their restaurant. But one summer, everything changes. She's taking a writing course, in which her teacher encourages her to publish her writing online - and when she starts posting her latest romance on a writing website, she's surprised when someone called "HappilyEverDrafter" offers to collaborate with her. Even though she doesn't know who he is, Julieta feels a connection with him, and she soon becomes convinced he's one of the three cute boys she's noticed in real life: Lucas, her oldest friend; Calvin, whom her grandmother is determined to set her up with; and Ryan, who used to be her nemesis but is suddenly showing another side of his character. But at the same time, she must also navigate friendship, family, and growing up. Her parents' restaurant has been struggling since the pandemic lockdowns, and now it's even worse than before - and worst of all, their marriage seems to be falling apart. Julieta realizes how much the restaurant and her family mean to her, just when it seems she might be about to lose them. As Julieta tries to decide which of the three "Romeos" she's truly in love with, she also learns who she really is, and what kind of life she wants.
This is a warm, happy novel with some touching moments and plenty of innocent romance, perfect for summer (not least because it takes place in summer!) I also think it's especially good for all of us CBers because it's about a writer, and occasionally the characters discuss things like worldbuilding and literature and online collaboration on stories and all those other things we're so familiar with :) I also love the characters, especially Julieta's grandmother, who's very spunky and at the same time very loving. Julieta's experiences are super relatable - her struggles with writing, her occasional perplexity about what to do in her romantic and friendly relationships, and her gradual knowledge of who she is. And, last but not least, the ending is unpredictable but wonderfully satisfying. I would definitely recommend it.

I. Want. To. Read. That. Book.
Great review! And if I'm reading right, it has something to do with covid too? I love books like that bc I find them so much more relatable bc the characters are living through the same moment in history that we did! And plus, I think that's pretty cool.
