so. apparently i just planned out a sequel to this.

at this point, sequel isn't a word anymore. 

[5 books in a series called "the mystery" im writing. tlk is the first, mb the second, oml the third, tr the fourth, and i the last. no im not revealing the full names. >:(] 

this also means ill be on puddings place for a long time, assuming each one taks about a year to write.

ayo how are you all doing? 

PT 5: Hidden Secrets? Maaaybe? + THE FIGURE IN THE SKY MAKES ANOTHER APPEARANCE! WOOO! + NEW CHARACTER! 

Nettle pointed the flashlight at a dark crevice in the rock. Something seemed off here. It was too silent- it had this weird aura. Plus, the grass was smushed. In the shape of human footprints.

The murderer, unluckily, was nearby. They saw Nettle, alone, with the flashlight, pointing it at the entrance rock. 

They looked around them, and saw a yucca plant. Perfect, as it had sharp thorny spikes, and could double as a small clump of swords. They noticed a couple shoots of asparagus, already ripe and matured with berries. They plucked some of the berries and smushed them slightly, and took a fistful of the spikes, then screeched and leaped onto Nettle, stabbing out her eyes with the yucca plant [A/N: Owch. Sorry, Nettle. It had to be done.] and stuffing the smushed berries in her mouth. 

Nettle's eyes widened, and she tried to spit the berries out. The murderer, instead, took some flat leaves laying on the ground, and tied the leaves against her mouth, and left her there, kicking her to the ground. 

The murderer went into a tunnel inside the rock, and ended up in the dungeon of Pangolin. [PFFT-] They took out a coil of rope and a piece of cloth nearby- Pangolin was knocked unconscious. They came back up, and tied Nettle to a tree, and gagged her with the cloth, leaving her there [with the yucca plant leaves still in her eyes] for someone else to find. 

They went away, satisfied with their work for now. 

The figure in the sky grinned. "Ohh, we're cause so much chaos. I love this. I'm a legend, after all. You really think I die?" 

[alittlefaery speaks: YEEEEEEZ REFERENCE- who gets it?! there are two references, btw. one is a song, and one is a...quote. if @dreamii is here, im gonna go ahead and guess she [? sorry if i got your pronouns wrong- im writing this at 3am in the morning and im too lazy to check the sheets :/] knows the quote. also im alittlefaery now! just for the book <3]

They pressed a button, and pulled a lever, then took a smooth stick, and connected a few more white dots. [IF YOU CAN FIGURE OUT WHAT THIS MEANS AND WHAT SONG IT'S SYMBOLIZING, I WILL GIVE YOU ANOTHER CLUE! GOOD LUCKKK!] 

Adira was searching by the stream in the woods, following the stream slowly from the lake downstream, occasionally sitting down and conversing with the fish, turtles, and other aquatic animals in the stream. They finally reached downstream, and reached a large glimmering lake- the Midnight Lake. It was rumoured there was a crumbled mansion nearby- rickety and old, unlivable. 

Adira took out her book and sat by the lake, flipping open a page to the first available story. The title was ripped out- strange. The author was also ripped out. 

"It's night..." Adira read, before she got splashed by a stream of water and the book fell into the stream, sinking to the end. A strange aqua-purple tail flashed, and the book was gone. 

Adira sighed. 

"Hello, friends! I come in peace! Have you seen a two people, one pushing along a person or something of that sort?" 

There was a gargled breath, and a fish-person gracefully leapt up on the shore, dangling their tail into the water. 

"Hello! I am Aciata, but you can call me Cia. None of us fish-people have seen such a spectacle." 

"Oh! Well, Cia, if you or any of your people do, please tell me! Just send up a spout of water, we'll see it! Thank you so much!" 

"Will do! Hopefully I'll see you later!" 

Aciata leapt away, her figure plunging into the water and disappearing, her scales flashing in the sunlight once. 

Adira sighed, brushed off her jeans, and stood up, heading back to the castle. 

Thorne, meanwhile, was deep in the forest, examining plants and hiding certain things that shaltn't be named. Overall, she never saw anything suspicious, mainly because she was too busy talking to the horses in the stable. 

SilverPhoenix...uhh, their business is classified. 

Storme was being her glitchy self, and flying above the forest, searching for anything obvious. 

Alintha was searching in the Underworld: the place where she felt most at home. Sure, she wasn't death, but since fire was abundant in the Underworld, it helped her and she thrived in the Underworld. She found nothing there- not even the spirits of Jubilee and Boo. 

Strange. Very suspicious. In the words of a dear friends, "red sus."

Most of the CBers were in their respective rooms, chatting, playing Minecraft, Among Us, board games, raging and flipping over different things, smashing glasses- yknow, the usual. Nettle, Luminescence, dreamiing, Honeybee, Feline Fantasy, Kitty Cat, moondemon, Cora, Veta, Saffron, Butternut, Ace, Nyx, Jubilee, and Quill were not amongst these people: they had been chosen by the Counselours, Mikumi, and Lyka by drawing names out of a hat. Not the most effective way, but it worked. The most effective way would probably be killing them or something, but meh. That's too much of a hassle sometimes. 

The clock struck midnight. All the CBers and AEs but Nettle came back, tired from a long day of searching. Sure, they had breakfast in the morning, and lunch in the afternoon, but the counselours were too busy and forgot to call them back for dinner. 

"Where's Nettle?" asked Wolfy_Walker_7, confused. 

The CBers and AEs looked amongst them and sure enough- Nettle was missing. Gone. Eradicated. 

SilverPhoenix walked in, and clapped their hands. 

"Alrighty, everybody go to sleep, tomorrow we have a long day ahead of us. More searching to do." 

They then did a quick respect salute and walked out of the door. 

Then Thorne came in. 

"Hello lovelies, to the people who were hunting, I brought y'all some food! Get some sleep, like Silver probably said, we have a long day ahead of us!" 

Thorne placed down plates of food, and walked out of the door. 

Thus the day ended, as a new game appeared in the murderer's head. 

The next morning, everyone awoke. Everything seemed normal. 

"Appear weak when you are strong!", shouted a voice that sounded like Adira's. "WAKE UP!" 

When the CBers and AEs and CAPTCHAs had finally awaken, they realized it was in fact not Adira's voice. It was a hovering hologram of a glitching person, who was sitting at a chair, feet up on the table. 

"Finally y'all wake up! I was getting bored. Sure, it was only 5 minutes, but that's a long time, 'specially for an ADHD person! Anyhoo, as you may or may not have already noticed, Leo is missing." 

The Water Room inhabitants looked around, and sure enough, Leo- who had literally never spoke- was gone. 

"You have one day to try to save him. 'Cause I woke up in a good mood, I have a little game for you to play. I win, Leo dies. There are 5 rounds. You win 1 round, I'll tell the murderer to leave you alone for a day. You win 2 rounds, you'll get a page of the murderer's notes. You win 3 rounds, you'll get 2 pages of the murderer's notes, you win 4 rounds, I'll give you each a small weapon- if you haven't already noticed, yours have already been taken." 

Sure enough, SilverCrystal patted her bag frantically, opened it, and realized- her swiss army knife was gone. 

"That's enough proof. Onto the more important things. If you win 5 rounds, you'll get Leo back. Goooood luck!~" 

The hologram disappeared, and another one took it's place. 

"The Games have begun, my dear friends! Beware dears, all is not what it seems <3" 

There was a collective scream, as they stumbled out of the room into one of the main halls, gathering and panicking. 

The tables had seemingly disappeared, all except for a small table with a single candle and a paper on it. 

dreamiing walked up and picked up the candle gingerly- suddenly, they were all transported into a room. 

There was a person with 3 sets of wings- the top two were water and fire, connected by obsidian, the middle shimmering raven wings, and the last set wind and nature. They had a midnight blue cloak and shimmering black hair up to their waist, snow-white skin, along with black boots and a huntress's outfit, complete with two shoulder bags and two waists secured on their hips. 

"Ayo, welcome to the Games! The first round'll be coming soon...Also you can call me beetle, seeing most people call me leetlebeetle, idk why. Anyhoo..."

The figure snapped their fingers, and they were all dropped into a pool of water, except dreamiing, who was on a small platform, looking nervously at the water. 

The figure stuck their head into the room. 

"Oops, sorry! Wrong place!"

They snapped their fingers again, and this time, they landed in a room made purely of obsidian. There was a dusty oak desk nearby, with 7 glasses of liquid, a sheet of paper, and a candle. 

dreamiing still seemed to be shaken from the pool experience, as they had come very close to being dropped in water. 

The Games have begun, my dear friends. Beware. All is not what it seems.
